Game Recap: SAN FRANCISCO-Jared Goff is playing much better in 2017. The 49ers have Reuben Foster and Eric Reid as inactives for this game.


Brian Hoyer threw a pick to begin this game. Todd Gurley ran it in for a rushing touchdown on the very next play. The Rams and their yellow color rush jerseys gained an early lead over the 49ers and their black jerseys. I wish the 49ers wore gold for color rush. The Steelers, Ravens, Falcons, and Eagles look good in black, but the 49ers and Cardinals look awful in black.


Hoyer had an awful second drive. Thanks to an offsides penalty on fourth down Brian Hoyer gets to torture us with his awful quarterback play for another series.


Hoyer rebounded with a strong drive. He ran it in for a rushing touchdown. The 49ers' quarterback tied the game at 7 thanks to his rushing touchdown on a third down situation.


Jared Goff struggled on this drive. A penalty by San Francisco negated Elvis Dumervil's 100th career sack. Higbee knocked Thomas flat on the ground. Goff threw a screen pass to Gurley. That set up a third and two. Goff threw his first passing touchdown. Todd Gurley got his first receiving touchdown and second total touchdown of the night.


The Rams led 14-7 after one quarter. Both teams got field goals in the second quarter to make it 17-10. Brian Hoyer was placed in a difficult 3rd and 17 situation. Hoyer threw an 18-yard completion to Pierre Garcon. That gave the 49ers a first down. San Francisco got a field goal. That made it a 17-13 game.


Todd Gurley got another rushing touchdown. The Rams led 24-13 at halftime and got the ball to start the second half.


Todd Gurley nearly got another rushing touchdown. He was ruled short. The Rams settled for a field goal which made it a 27-13 game.


San Francisco won a challenge so an incomplete pass got overturned plus there was roughing the passer on the play. Hoyer drove downfield only to watch Carlos Hyde pound it in on fourth and goal. That made it a 27-20 game with the Rams ahead by a touchdown.


Jared Goff drove the Rams downfield. Goff made some incredible throws and showed potential as the quarterback of the future. Goff threw a touchdown to Sammy Watkins. That gave the Rams a 34-20 lead after three quarters.


Brian Hoyer finally threw a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Robbie Gould missed the extra point. The Rams led 34-26 following that drive by Hoyer.


Jared Goff threw another touchdown to Sammy Watkins. Then the 49ers got another touchdown to make it 41-33. The Rams fumbled the kickoff return and the 49ers got the ball back.


The 49ers got a touchdown. They failed to get a two point conversion, but they did recover an onside kick down 41-39. The Rams made the defensive stop. Los Angeles is now 2-1 while the 49ers are now 0-3.


Jared Goff went 22/28 with 292 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Todd Gurley had 25 carries, 93 rushing yards, 5 receptions, 36 receiving yards, 30 touches, 129 total yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown, and 3 total touchdowns. Robert Woods had 6 receptions for 108 receiving yards. Sammy Watkins had 6 receptions, 106 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. There were a lot of players on the Rams that stepped up, but Todd Gurley took care of business early.




Baltimore Ravens 2-1-0
Versus
Jacksonville Jaguars 2-1-0


Game Recap: LONDON-Baltimore enters London with one of their best defenses. Jacksonville usually does well in London.


Paul Posluszney broke up a pass on second down. Dante Fowler got by Austin Howard to sack Joe Flacco on third down to set up a fourth down.


Marqise Lee torched Brandon Carr for a first down on a 35-yard gain. Chris Ivory caught a screen pass on third down for a first down. Those plays set up a Jason Meyers field goal. Jacksonville took a 3-0 lead.


Paul Posluszney broke up another pass on third down. That set up a fourth down. Jacksonville had a chance to build on their lead.


Leonard Fournette caught a screen pass. Marcedes Lewis and Marqise Lee caught passes for first down. Leonard Fournette ran for a first down. Marcedes Lewis caught a receiving touchdown. Jacksonville took a 10-0 lead.


Jacksonville gang tackles Joe Flacco for a sack on third down. The Ravens have to punt it and Jacksonville gets another chance to build on their 10-0 lead. Jacksonville got some first downs due to Leonard Fournette. Jacksonville led 10-0 after one quarter.


Jacksonville goes for it on fourth down. Leonard Fournette gets the conversion on fourth and one. Penalties killed this drive. A great throw by Blake Bortles where he eaded two sacks allwoed him to complete a pass. Jason Meyers kicked a field goal. That gave Jacksonville a 13-0 lead. Jacksonville with 200 total yards of offense Baltimore with -1 total yards of offense.


Joe Flacco is 0/5 on passing attempts and Baltimore is 0/4 on third down conversions. Jacksonville gets the ball back with a chance to build on their 13-0 lead.


Blake Bortles threw into coverage. The pass was broken up by Jimmy Smith. Jacksonville punted as Baltimore got the ball back.


Joe Flacco threw an interception to A.J. Bouye. Jacksonville got the ball back. Blake Bortles drove the team downfield and threw a touchdown pass to Allen Hurns. Jacksonville took a 20-0 lead.


Jacksonville made another defensive stop on third down. They have had the ball again.


Blake Bortles drove downfield. Tony Jefferson was slow to get up on that play. Jacksonville got a field goal on this drive.


Myles Jack stopped Baltimore on third down despite a completion from quarterback Joe Flacco. That set up a fourth down where Jacksonville would get the ball back. Jacksonville led 23-0 at halftime.


Baltimore stopped Jacksonville to begin the second half. Jacksonville still took 3 minutes and 5 seconds off the clock.


Joe Flacco threw another interception to Jalen Ramsey. That gave Jacksonville the ball back. Blake Bortles threw another touchdown to Marcedes Lewis. That gave Jacksonville a 30-0 lead.


Baltimore fumbled the ball and Jacksonville recovered. Bortles threw another touchdown to Marcedes Lewis. Jacksonville took a 37-0 lead.


Jacksonville led 37-0 after three quarters. Leonard Fournette ran it in the fourth quarter to make it a 44-0 game. Ryan Mallett threw a touchdown in garbage time. That didn't matter. Jacksonville won 44-7.


Blake Bortles was the player that stood out in this game at quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bortles went 20/31 with 244 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Bortles is the biggest reason the Jaguars are 2-1 heading into week 4.

Game Recap: INDIANAPOLIS-Andrew Luck is out for the Colts. Vontae Davis and Quincy Wilson are both out at cornerback for the Colts as well. Cleveland doesn't have Myles Garrett either and both teams are banged up.


Jacoby Brissett ran it in for a rushing touchdown. That play gave the Colts a 7-0 lead with Indianapolis ahead by a touchdown after one quarter.


Duke Johnson got a rushing touchdown. That tied the game at 7.


Jacoby Brissett entered the red zone once again. Brissett got another rushing touchdown. That gave the Colts a 14-7 lead.


Jacoby Brissett threw a touchdown pass to Ty Hilton. That gave the Colts a 21-7 lead.


Frank Gore got a rushing touchdown. That gave the Colts a 28-7 lead.


DeShone Kizer threw a touchdown pass to David Njoku. That made it 28-14 Indianapolis at halftime. Neither team scored in the third quarter. Indianapolis led 28-14 after three quarters.


Indianapolis kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter. That made it a 31-14 Colts lead.


DeShone Kizer threw a touchdown to Kenny Britt. That made it a 31-21 game. Kizer ran for a touchdown late. The Browns made it a 3 point game. The Colts won 31-28.

Philadelphia Eagles 2-1-0


Game Recap: PHILADELPHIA-New York is 0-2. Philadelphia is coming of a road loss to the Chiefs heading into their home opener.


Neither team scored in the first quarter. LeGarrette Blount scored a rushing touchdown that got called off. He would score on the very next play after that call got overturned. Philadelphia took a 7-0 lead and led 7-0 at halftime.


Carson Wentz threw a touchdown pass to Zach Ertz. That touchdown gave Philadelphia a 14-0 lead. Philadelphia led 14-0 through three quarters.


Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. in the fourth quarter. That made it a 14-7 game. Odell Beckham Jr. caught another touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. That tied the game at 14.


Eli Manning threw a touchdown to Sterling Shepard. That gave the Giants a 21-14 lead.


Corey Clement had a rushing touchdown. That tied it at 21. The Giants got the lead back up 24-21. Philadelphia tied it at 24. Jake Elliott the former fifth round pick that the Bengals cut had a chance to make a game-winning field goal. He made it from 61-yards. Philadelphia wins 27-24.


Carson Wentz was the biggest reason Philadelphia won. Wentz went 21/31 with 176 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. The Giants fall to 0-3 and Philadelphia improves to 2-1 on the season.

Game Recap: NEW YORK-Miami heads to New York. Jay Ajayi and Jarvis Landry were game time decisions, but both Dolphins played today.


Niether team scored in the first quarter. New York kicked a field goal to make it a 3-0 lead. New York got a touchdown. The Jets led 10-0 at halftime.


Bilal Powell ran it in for a touchdown. That made it a 17-0 game. The Jets got another field goal. New York took a 20-0 lead on Miami. New York led 20-0 after three quarters.


Miami scored as time ran out. It didn't matter. The Jets won 20-6. Roby Anderson had 3 receptions, 95 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Anderson showed he could be a short-term #1 target for whoever takes over at quarterback for the Jets after this season.




Denver Broncos 2-1-0
Versus
Buffalo Bills 2-1-0


Game Recap: BUFFALO-Buffalo didn't have Marcel Dareus and Cordy Glenn today. Denver didn't have Bolles at left tackle either so neither team had their starting left tackle.


Denver got a field goal in the first quarter. That gave the Broncos a 3-0 lead after one quarter. Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown to Andre Holmes. That gave the Bills a 7-3 lead.


C.J. Anderson had a huge run. That set up a rushing touchdown by Jamaal Charles. That gave Denver a 10-7 lead. Both teams got field goals from that point in the second quarter. It was tied 13-13 at halftime.


Denver got a field goal in the third quarter. That made it 16-13 Denver.


Tyrod Taylor drove the Bills downfield. That made it 20-16 Buffalo. Buffalo gained his first lead of the game.


Buffalo led 20-16 after three quarters. Buffalo got a field goal in the fourth quarter to make it a 23-16 game.


Buffalo got another field goal to win 26-16. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor went 20/26 with 213 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Taylor was the biggest reason Buffalo won with Cordy Glenn's injury at left tackle.




New Orleans Saints 0-2-0

Carolina Panthers 2-0-0


Game Recap: CAROLINA-New Orleans didn't have Delvin Breaux or Marshon Lattimore at cornerback. Carolina didn't have Greg Olsen at tight end today either.


Graham Gano got an early field goal. Carolina led 3-0. Then Drew Brees threw a passing touchdown to Michael Thomas. That gave the Saints a 7-3 lead after one quarter.


Graham Gano got a field goal to make it 7-6. Drew Brees threw a touchdown pass to Brandon Coleman. That gave the Saints a 14-6 lead.


Kelvin Benjamin left the game after Greg Olsen was injured. Benjamin would not return. Lutz got a field goal to make it 17-6 at halftime.


Drew Brees threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Ted Ginn Jr. That gave New Orleans a 24-6 lead in the third quarter.


A Christian McCaffrey rushing touchdown was called off. Cam Newton ran it in for a rushing touchdown. New Orleans led 24-13.


New Orleans led 24-13 after three quarters. New Orleans kicked a field goal to make it 27-13. Then Alvin Kamara got a rushing touchdown to make it a 34-13 game. New Orleans won 34-13 to get their first win of the season.


Quarterback Drew Brees is the biggest reason New Orleans won. Brees went 22/29 with 220 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Drew Brees guided the Saints to a paramount first win while Cam Newton doesn't have Greg Olsen or Kelvin Benjamin for who knows how long.



Pittsburgh Steelers 2-1-0

Chicago Bears 1-2-0


Game Recap: CHICAGO-Pittsburgh headed to Chicago. The Steelers were looking for a 3-0 start and sole possession of first place in the AFC North with Baltimore losing to Jacksonville in London.


Jordan Howard got a rushing touchdown. That gave Chicago a 7-0 lead. Ben Roethlisberger fumbled and Chicago recovered. Chicago had a chance to take a 10-0 lead. The field goal was no good. Chicago led 7-0 after one quarter.


Pittsburgh dealt with some injuries on the offensive line. Right tackle Marcus Gilbert and left guard Ramon Foster were both injured in this game. That really hurt the Steelers early in the first half until Antonio Brown got a touchdown that tied the game at 7.


Le'veon Bell got a rushing touchdown. That made it 17-14 Chicago.


Pittsburgh tied the game at 17 in the fourth quarter. The game went to overtime. Jordan Howard won on a rushing touchdown in overtime. Jordan Howard was the player of this game in Chicago's 23-17 overtime victory over Pittsburgh because Howard had 23 carries, 138 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Howard played a huge role in Chicago's win and Mike Glennon is now 2-0 VS Pittsburgh.





Atlanta Falcons 3-0-0
Versus
Detroit Lions 2-1-0


Game Recap: DETROIT-Atlanta headed to Detroit. This was the only match featuring 2-0 teams facing each other in week 3.


Matt Ryan threw a touchdown pass to Sanu. That gave Atlanta a 7-0 lead after one quarter. Detroit got a field goal. Matt Bryant made it 10-3 before Devonta Freeman got a rushing touchdown to make it 17-3 Atlanta.




Detroit got a field goal to make it 17-6. GLover Quin picked off Matt Ryan for a pick 6. It was Matt Ryan's first interception of the year. Atlanta led 17-13 following that pick.


Matt Bryant kicked a field goal to make it 20-13 at halftime. Atlanta kicked a field goal to make it 23-13 in the third quarter.


Matthew Stafford threw a touchdown pass to Golden Tate. That made it 23-20. Then Matt Prater kicked a field goal. That tied the game at 23-23 to end the third quarter.


Matt Ryan threw a touchdown pass to Taylor Gabriel. That made it a 30-23 game. Matt Prater settled for a field goal to make it 30-26. Golden Tate caught a pass that appeared to be a touchdown. Tate was ruled shy of the end zone. Time ran out and Atlanta won 30-26 to improve to 3-0.

Devonta Freeman was the player of the game in this contest. Freeman had 21 carries, 106 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards, 138 total yards, and 1 rushing touchdown in Atlanta's narrow win over Detroit.

Game Recap: MINNESOTA-Sam Bradford was out again. Case Keenum had a chance to start 3-0 versus Jameis Winston.


Dalvin Cook had a rushing touchdown in the first quarter. That made it 7-0 Minnesota. Tampa Bay kicked a field goal and Minnesota led 7-3 after one quarter.


Case Keenum threw multiple touchdowns in the second quarter. One to Wright made it 14-3. His other touchdown to Stefon Diggs made it 21-3 Minnesota at halftime.


Case Keenum went back to Diggs in the third quarter. That made it 28-3 Minnesota. Jameis Winston threw a touchdown pass to Cameron Brate. That made it 28-10.


Tampa Bay Buccaneers All Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy walked away with an injury. He had trouble walking off the field.


Minnesota kicked a field goal to make it 31-10. Jameis Winston threw a touchdown to make it 31-17. DeSean Jackson got a touchdown right as time expired in the third quarter. MInnesota led 31-17 after three quarters.


Minnesota won 34-17. Stefon Diggs was the player of this game. Diggs had 8 receptions, 173 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Diggs is the biggest reason Minnesota is 2-1.

New England Patriots 2-1-0


Game Recap: NEW ENGLAND-Houston headed to New England. These teams met in week 3 on Thursday Night Football last year. This time the Texans had rookie Deshaun Watson making his first start in New England. Hightower was inactive for the Patriots at middle linebacker which made Watson's job easier.


Tom Brady began this game by throwing a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski. That made it 7-0 New England.


Houston got a field goal. That made it 7-3. Watson threw a touchdown to Bruce Ellington. Houston led 10-7 after one quarter.


Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to Chris Hogan. That gave New England a 14-10 lead. Houston kicked a field goal to make it 14-13. Jadeveon Clowney had a fumble recovery on Brady that resulted in a touchdown. Houston took a 20-14 lead.


Tom Brady threw another touchdown pass to Chris Hogan. New England led 21-20 at halftime.


Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks. That gave New England a 28-20 lead.


Deshaun Watson threw a touchdown pass to Ryan Griffin. That made it a 28-27 game. Houston decided not to go for the two point conversion.


Houston got two field goals in the fourth quarter. The Texans took a 33-28 lead. Tom Brady was clutch as he threw a touchdown and two point conversion to Brandin Cooks. This allowed New England to prevail 36-33 as New England gained the lead with 23 seconds left.


Tom Brady was the biggest reason New England won. Brady went 25/35 with 378 passing yards, 5 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Brady had a few fumbles, but he avoided any turnovers and played brilliant throughout the game.




Seattle Seahawks 1-2-0
Versus
Tennessee Titans 2-1-0


Game Recap: TENNESSEE-Corey Davis was inactive for the Titans in this game. Both teams were 1-1 heading into this game.


Neither team scored in the first quarter. A scuffle broke out late in the first quarter when Richard Sherman targeted Marcus Mariota. Left tackle Taylor Lewan confronted Sherman after the play.


Ryan Succop kicked two field goals. Those field goals gave the Titans a 6-0 lead.


Russell Wilson threw a touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin. That gave Seattle a 7-6 lead until Succop hit another field goal to make it 9-7 Titans at halftime.


Russell Wilson threw a second touchdown pass in the third quarter. Seattle took a 14-9 lead.


Marcus Mariota threw two passing touchdowns later in the third quarter. HIs first passing touchdown came to Rishard Matthews which gave the Titans a 16-14 lead. Mariota threw another passing touchdown to Jonnu Smith. That gave the Titans a 23-14 lead.


DeMarco Murray had a huge run to end the third quarter. That gave the Titans a 30-14 lead. Tennessee led 30-14 after three quarters.


Russell Wilson threw his third passing touchdown of the game. That made it a 30-20 game in the fourth quarter. Succop kicked another field goal to make it 33-20. Wilson threw a fourth passing touchdown to Paul Richardson. That made it a 33-27 game.


Tennessee won 33-27. Both quarterbacks were phenomenal today and both deserve player of the game honors. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson went 29/49 with 375 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota went 20/32 with 225 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Mariota's toughness after taking that hit by Sherman along with brilliant decision making led Tennessee to a victory.





Cincinnati Bengals 0-3-0
Versus
Green Bay Packers 2-1-0


Game Recap: GREEN BAY-Cincinnati had a new offensive coordinator in Bill Lazor. The Bengals headed to Green Bay hoping to get their first win.


Andy Dalton threw a touchdown pass to A.J. Green in the first quarter. That gave Cincinnati a 7-0 lead.


Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Lance Kendricks. The game was tied at 7-7 after one quarter in Green Bay.


Andy Dalton threw a touchdown pass to Giovani Bernard in the second quarter. That gave Cincinnati a 14-7 lead.


William Jackson III had a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown. That pick 6 gave Cincinnati a 21-7 lead at halftime.


Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson in the third quarter. Cincinnati led 21-14 after three quarters.


Mason Crosby got a field goal to amke it a 21-17 game. Then Cincinnati got a field goal to make it a 24-17 game.


Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson. That tied the game at 24. The game was tied 24-24 as the Bengals and Packers headed to overtime.


Green Bay made a defensive stop on Cincinnati. Rodgers made a huge throw to Allison. That set up a field goal for Mason Crosby. The Packers won 27-24 in overtime.


Josh Jones was my player of the game in this contest. Jones had 11 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 12 total tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks. The rookie out of North Carolina State had a huge game for Green Bay today.




Kansas City Chiefs 3-0-0
Versus
Los Angeles Chargers 0-3-0


Game Recap: LOS ANGELES-The Los Angeles Chargers were looking for their first win. With Jason Verrett on injured reserve for the second year in a row, Los Angeles has a suspect secondary once again.


Philip Rivers threw an interception early in this game. Kansas City took over with a chance to gain the early lead. Alex Smith threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. That gave the Chiefs a 7-0 lead early in the game.


Rivers got the ball into Kansas City territory on his second possession. Rivers eventually threw an interception to Marcus Peters. Kansas City got the ball back with a 7-0 lead.


Alex Smith threw another passing touchdown which made it a 14-0 game. Los Angeles got the ball back with 5 minutes and 33 seconds left in the first quarter. They took up 5 minutes and 27 seconds of clock to get a drive going. Melvin Gordon had an 11-yard rushing touchdown which made it a 14-7 game. Kansas CIty led 14-7 after one quarter.


Both teams got field goals in the second quarter. Los Angeles kicked a field goal at the end of the first half to make it a 17-10 game at halftime.


Neither team scored in the third quarter. Kareem Hunt put this game away with a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter as Kansas City won 24-10.


Kareem Hunt was the star for Kansas City once again. Hunt had 17 carries, 172 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown. Hunt's big play is why the Chiefs are 3-0 and why the Chargers still don't have a win in 2017.

Game Recap: WASHINGTON-Oakland was hoping to get off to a 3-0 start. Washington was looking to build off their week 2 win. Both teams featured explosive offensives.


Kirk Cousins threw a touchdown pass in the first quarter. Washington led 7-0 after one quarter.


Kirk Cousins threw another touchdown pass in the second quarter. Washington led 14-0 at halftime.


Kirk Cousins connected with Jameson Crowder in the third quarter. That gave Washington a 21-0 lead.


Derek Carr finally threw a touchdown pass late in the third quarter. Washington led 21-7 after three quarters.


Washington got a field goal to make it 24-7 in the fourth quarter. Then Oakland made it 24-10 with a field goal. Washington got another field goal to make it 27-10 in the fourth quarter after a defensive stop by Oakland.


Washington's defense was phenomenal in this game. They forced Oakland's offense to 0/10 on third down conversions in this game. Josh Norman and Breshad Breeland were phenomenal limiting both Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree to 1 reception on the night.


Kirk Cousins was my player of the game in this contest. Cousins went 25/30 with 365 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Cousins is the biggest reason along with this defense as to why the Raiders no longer have a win.

Game Recap: ARIZONA-Arizona didn't have David Johnson. They also didn't have D.J. Humphries at left tackle or Mike Iupati at left guard.


Carson Palmer threw a touchdown pass to Jaron Brown in the first quarter. Arizona led 7-0 after one. Dak Prescott ran it in for a rushing touchdown in the second quarter. The game was tied 7-7 at halftime.


Dez Bryant fought for a touchdown in the third quarter. That gave Dallas a 14-7 lead in the third quarter. Dallas got a score from their #1 receiver. Larry Fitzgerald did the same and Arizona tied the game at 14. It was a 14-14 heading into the fourth quarter.


Dak Prescott threw a passing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Dallas took a 21-14 lead. Arizona got a field goal. Ezekiel Elliott got a rushing touchdown to give Dallas a 28-17 lead. Dallas won 28-17 to improve to 2-1.


Quarterback Dak Prescott was the biggest reason Dallas won. Prescott went 13/18 with 182 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, 3 total touchdowns, and no interceptions. Prescott managed the game well and did what he needed to in order to help the Cowboys win.
