Outside of an Earl Thomas interception, we saw nothing but drives that resulted in punts during the first quarter. The game was scoreless after one quarter of play.

New England Patriots 1-2-0
Versus
Detroit Lions 1-2-0

Game Recap: DETROIT-Student versus Master was the theme in the Motor City. Matt Patricia was hoping to get his first win as an NFL head coach versus his former assistant Bill Belichick.

New England went three and out on their opening drive. Detroit put together a drive that lasted 7 minutes and 37 seconds. Detroit kicked a field goal and took a 3-0 lead. Detroit led 3-0 after one quarter. Detroit had the ball for 12 minutes and 30 seconds in the first quarter while New England only had the ball for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Matthew Stafford threw an interception early in the second half. New England capitalized off of this as Tom Brady rallied New England downfield. Detroit used the fourth quarter to get two field goals. Detroit won 26-10.

Kerryon Johnson had 101 rushing yards. I thought Detroit's offensive line as a whole with Taylor Decker at left tackle, Frank Ragnow at left guard, Graham Glasgow at center, Josh Sitton at right guard, and Ricky Wagner at right tackle did a superb job limiting New England's front 7 to one sack for the entire game while allowing Johnson to run all over. Detroit's offensive line deserves just as much if not more kudos then Johnson for paving the way throughout the evening.

Pittsburgh Steelers 1-1-1
Versus

Game Recap: TAMPA BAY-Le'Veon Bell continued his holdout. Pittsburgh headed into week 3 without a win on the season.

Tampa Bay got a field goal in the third quarter. Pittsburgh led 30-13 after three quarters of play.

Ryan Fitzpatrick rebounded with a strong fourth quarter where he threw two touchdown passes to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. That still wasn't enough. Pittsburgh established a big enough lead in the first half to barely hold on and win this game.

I am going with a surprise player of the game for Pittsburgh. I'm going with left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, Ben Roethlisberger's blindside as the player of the game. Villanueva, left guard Ramon Foster, center Maurkice Pouncey, right guard David DeCastro, and right tackle Marcus Gilbert all stepped up for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who went 30/38 with 358 passing yards, while run blocking for James Conner.

Pittsburgh's offensive line deserves a lot of credit. Now this offensive line can prepare for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
