Houston Texans 2-1-0
New England Patriots 3-0-0

Game Recap: NEW ENGLAND-The 2-0 Houston Texans traveled to the 2-0 New England Patriots. Rob Gronkowski returned despite Jimmy Garoppolo being ruled out.

Houston got the ball first. Jabaal Sheard had a critical sack on third down to end the Patriots drive. Kareem Jackson made some critical stops with stopping LeGarrette Blount on second down and covering effectively on third down to give Houston the ball back.

Houston failed to do anything on their second drive. Will Fuller made an impressive catch though. Without Duane Brown at left tackle for Houston, Osweiler will have less time to react.

A pass interference penalty by Houston put the Patriots in field goal range. Houston fumbled a kickoff and Jacoby Brissett ran it in for a touchdown. The Patriots led 10-0 after one quarter.

New England maintained their 10-0 lead heading into halftime. Both teams were great on defense in the second quarter.

New England got the ball to start the second half. The Patriots took 6 minutes and 41 seconds off the clock in the third quarter and took a 13-0 lead thanks to the field goal. Great job by Jacoby Brissett managing the game on that drive.

Houston fumbled a kickoff. The Patriots got the ball back. LeGarrette Blount ran it in for a rushing touchdown to give the Patriots a 20-0 lead over the Texans.

Blount ran it in for another rushing touchdown as seen in the real photo that I posted. That touchdown gave the Patriots a 27-0 lead over Houston in the fourth quarter. LeGarrette Blount had 24 carries, 105 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns against the Houston Texans. He was the player of the game on offense and easily had the biggest impact for the Patriots. On defense the guy that stepped up was Jamie Collins. Collins had 7 solo tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 14 total tackles, and 1 interception.

Arizona Cardinals 1-2-0
Buffalo Bills 2-1-0

Game Recap: BUFFALO-Buffalo will have problems today. Left tackle Cordy Glenn and wide receiver Sammy Watkins are both injured. Ronald Darby is also inactive for the Bills, so I expect Arizona to put up a clinic today.

Buffalo attempted a 19-yard field goal. That field goal gave the Bills a 3-0 lead.

LeSean McCoy had 2 rushing touchdowns in the first half. One came in the first quarter and the other came in the second quarter. LeSean McCoy began the game strong under new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn with 7 carries, 79 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns.

David Johnson ran it into the end zone. That gave the Cardinals a touchdown, but they still trailed 17-7. Tyrod Taylor heaved a hail mary before halftime, but it was an incomplete pass.

Tyrod Taylor ran it into the end zone during the third quarter. Taylor's rushing toucdhwon put the Bills ahead 23-7.

Buffalo returned a field goal for a touchdown. That made it a 30-7 game after Aaron Williams returned the muffed field goal for a touchdown. David Johnson ran it in for another touchdown. That made it 30-13 after 3 quarters.

Arizona got a field goal in the fourth quarter. That made it 30-16 putting the Cardinals within two touchdowns of tying the game. The Bills got a field goal to make it a 33-16 game before Arizona had a safety.

Buffalo won 33-18 thanks to Carson Palmer's brutal interceptions. Palmer had 0 passing touchdowns and 4 interceptions while Tyrod Taylor had 1 rushing touchdown and 1 interceptions. Both quarterbacks had brutal performances, but Tyrod Taylor managed to score. You could not say the smae for Carson Palmer.

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was the difference maker. McCoy had 17 carries, 110 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. McCoy did awesome in Anthony Lynn's first game as offensive coordinator after Lynn got promoted forom running backs coach/assistant head coach to offensive coordinator after Buffalo fired Greg Roman.

Stephon Gilmore limited Larry Fitzgerald to 7 receptions for 60 receiving yards. Gilmore did an awesome job in coverage for the Bills.

Oakland Raiders 2-1-0
Tennessee Titans 1-2-0

Game Recap: TENNESSEE-The Titans don't have Kendall Wright or Delanie Walker to throw to. Marcus Mariota will have limited options in the passing game and will have to be used as a duel threat if the Titans want to win this game that they are favored to win at home.

The Titans took a 3-0 lead. Latavis Murray had a rushing touchdown that gave Oakland a 7-3 lead in the first quarter. Janikowski got a field goal in the second quarter to give the Raiders a 10-3 lead.

Derek Carr threw a passing touchdown to Seth Roberts. That put the Raiders up 17-3 at halftime. Derek Carr went 15/22 in the first half with 135 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions.

DeMarco Murray ran it in for a touchdown in the third quarter. Oakland led 17-10 after Murray's rushing touchdown.

Oakland's secondary looked a lot better with Karl Joseph in the lineup. Field cornerback David Amerson, boundary cornerback Shaun Smith, strong safety Karl Joseph, and free safety Reggie Nelson all came to play for Oakland in week 3. Michael Crabtree had 8 receptions for 102 receiving yards. Crabtree torched Perrish Cox following his strong game against the Lions.

Oakland is now 2-1 while the Titans are now 1-2. The Raiders play an unbeaten Ravens team in Baltimore in week 4.

Oakland won thanks to their offensive line. Left guard Kelechi Osmele and center Rodney Hudson looked like seasoned Pro Bowlers on the offensive line agianst the Tennessee Titans. Left tackle Donald Penn struggled, but Oakland won this game with their interior offensive line.

Washington Redskins 1-2-0
New York Giants 2-1-0

Game Recap: NEW YORK-The Redskins and Giants are both pretty healthy heading into this game. Washington needs a win to avoid starting 0-3, but the Giants are hoping to start 3-0.

The Giants had an impressive first drive. Shane Vereen gave the Giants a 7-0 lead with his rushing touchdown filing in for Rashad Jennings.

Washington followed that up with a field goal. The Giants still led 7-3. Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Sterling Shephard which gave the Giants a 14-3 lead.

Washington got two more field goals. Those field goals made it a 14-9 game.

The Giants got a touchdown ot make it 21-9. Then Kirk Cousins threw a touchdown to DeSean Jackson to make it 21-16. Jackson was limping near the end of the first half. Kirk Cousins fumbled the ball and recovered it. Time ran out though and Washington failed to capitalize in the red zone due to poor time management.

Jamison Crowder caught a reception and ran it in for a touchdown. That gave the Redskins the lead.

The Giants went for it on 4th down. They got the conversion. Eli has had success against this secondary mainly due to boundary cornerback Brashaud Breeland and strong safety DeAngelo Hall getting injured. The Giants saw boundary cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and nickel cornerback Eli Apple leave the game injured as well.

The Giants got a field goal and avoided an interception. That gave the Giants a 24-23 lead after the field goal after 3 quarters.

Washington began the fourth quarter with a field goal. That gave the Redskins a 26-24 lead.

The mediocre Marshall Newhouse was inactive at right tackle for the Giants. Center Weston Richburg got ejected for the New York Giants after a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The Giants offensive line had all kinds of issues today.

The Giants took a 27-26 lead before the Redskins took a 29-27 lead. Eli Manning threw an interception to Quinton Dunbar. Washington held on to win 29-27.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins dominated in this game. Cousins went 21/35 with 296 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. DeSean Jackson had 5 receptions, 96 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown despite getting injured in this game. That may have been due to Jackson lining up against corners on the Giants that were injured or perhaps the safeties.

Either way, Washington deserves credit for the win. The Giants fell to 2-1 following that defeat.

Cleveland Browns 0-3-0
Miami Dolphins 1-2-0

Game Recap: MIAMI-Cleveland has Cody Kessler making his first start. Miami is making their home opener in their newly refined stadium.

Ryan Tannehill threw a pick to former Dolphin Jamar Taylor. The Browns failed to do anything on thier first drive so Ryan Tannehill got the ball back and Miami took a 7-0 lead after Tannehill threw a touchdown pass to DeVante Parker.

Cleveland got a field goal. Brien-Boddy Calhoun returned an interception for a touchdown. That gave the Browns a 10-7 lead until Miami tied the game with a field goal. The game was 13-10 at halftime.

Ryan Tannehill threw another passing touchdown. That made it a 24-13 game. Terrell Pryor ran it in before Cleveland got a two point conversion to make it a 24-21 game.

Cody Parkey tied the game. Parkey missed a crucial game-winning field goal in regulation. The game went to overtime tied at 24.

Jay Ajayi scored the game-winning touchdown. The player of the game for Miami on offense had to be wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Landry finished with 7 receptions, 120 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. On defense, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had 3 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 5 total tackles, and 1.5 sacks for the Dolphins in their win over the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore Ravens 3-0-0
Jacksonville Jaguars 0-3-0

Game Recap: JACKSONVILLE-Kelvin Beachum is injured at left tackle for the Jaguars. Prince Amuakamara also inactive for the Jaguars. That makes me feel very uncomfortable about the Jaguars chances to win.

Joe Flacco ran it in for a touchdown. Justin Tucker has been huge hitting field goals today. Tucker 3/3 on field goals with a 43-yard field goal plus 1/1 on extra points. The Ravens led 16-7 after Tucker's third field goal.

Blake Bortles threw his second passing touchdown of the day to wide receiver Allen Robinson. Blake Bortles went 24/38 with an underwhelming 195 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Allen Robinson had 7 receptions, 57 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.

The Jaguars got a field goal in the fourth quarter to take a 17-16 lead. Justin Tucker kicked another field goal to give the Ravens a 19-17 lead. Blake Bortles threw his final interception following the Ravens score on the Jaguars final drive. Justin Tucker went 4/4 hitting his longest field goal from 54-yards in the fourth quarter. Tucker went 1/1 on extra points too.

Detroit Lions 1-2-0
Green Bay Packers 2-1-0

Game Recap: GREEN BAY-Neither team had their best pass rusher playing. Both Ziggy Ansah and Clay Matthews were inactive in this game.

Aaron Rodgers threw a 14-yard pass to DaVante Adams to make it a 7-0 game. Detroit kicked a field goal to make it a 7-3 game before Aaron Rodgers threw another passing touchdown to Jordy Nelson. Rodgers began this game 6/8 121 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interception.

Rodgers continued to dominate as he was 12/18 with 174 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions in the first half. That Green Bay led that game 31-10 at halftime.

Marvin Jones had 2 receptions for 111 receiving yards in the first half. Detroit did not get the ball to Jones often, but when they did he made plays.

Anquan Boldin caught a receiving touchdown. That made it 31-17. Marvin Jones caught another receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter which made it 34-27 after both Mason Crosby and Matt Prater got field goals for the Packers and the Lions.

Marvin Jones finished the game with 6 receptions, 205 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Marvin Jones kept the Lions in this game today. This was a game that went down right to the wire even though it appeared that Green Bay burried the Lions in the first half.

Aaron Rodgers finished the day 15/24 with 205 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Running back Eddie Lacy had 17 carries for 103 rushing yards. Wide receiver Jordy Nelson had 6 receptions, 101 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Green Bay goes to 2-1 and Detroit falls to 1-2 after starting the season 1-0.

Denver Broncos 3-0-0
Cincinnati Bengals 1-2-0

Game Recap: CINCINNATI-The Broncos do not have DeMarcus Ware at pass rusher or Doanld Stephenson at right tackle. That could mean that Carlos Dunlap dominates today.

Jeremy Hill ran it in for a rushing touchdown. That gave the Bengals a 7-0 lead. Denver scored 10 unanswered thanks to Emmanuel Sanders catching a receiving touchdown to give Denver the lead before Hill ran it in again to put Cincinnati ahead 14-10.

Emmanuel Sanders caught his second receiving touchdown in second quarter. The Broncos led 16-14 at halftime. Cincinnati took a 17-16 lead before Trevor Siemian threw two more passing touchdowns to help Denver win 29-16.

Trevor Siemian went 23/35 with 312 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Emmanuel Sanders had 9 receptions, 117 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Demaryius Thomas had 6 receptions, 100 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Denver's passing game clicked on all cylinders which is why Denver is now 3-0.

Minnesota Vikings 3-0-0
Carolina Panthers 1-2-0

Game Recap: CAROLINA-Minnesota has their starting quarterback Teddy Brigewater, starting left tackle Matt Kalil, and starting running back Adrian Peterson all out for the rest of the season. Carolina should have little problems against the Vikings.

Cam Newton began this game 7/7 with 116 passing yards. Newton had a rushing touchdown to give Carolina a 10-0 lead after Carolina got a field goal. Minnesota sacked Newton to force a safety.

he Vikings returned a punt for a touchdown. Carolina led 10-8 at halftime. In the third quarter, Sam Bradford fired a touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph. That gave the Vikings a 16-10 lead after the Vikings hit a two point conversion. Blair Walsh kicked two field goals in the fourth quarter to win 22-10.

Minnesota got to Cam Newton. Everson Griffen had 3 sacks at 4-3 right end. Brian Robison had a sack at 4-3 left end. Anthony Barr had a sack at 4-3 right outside linebacker. Minnesota's stingy defense allows them to start 3-0. Carolina falls to 1-2 and really needs to bounce back in week 4 when the Panthers go to Atlanta.

Los Angeles Rams 2-1-0
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-2-0

Game Recap: TAMPA BAY-Both teams headed to Tampa Bay witha 1-1 record. A lightning storm at the end of this game got this game suspended for quite a bit, but it was an exciting game outside of the horrendous weather.

Brian Quick's 44-yard touchdown reception from Case Keenum took the crowd out of the game. Kwon Alexander returned a pick 6, but Tampa Bay missed the extra point. Los Angeles led 7-6 until the Rams got a field goal to lead 10-6 after the first quarter.

Tampa Bay went on a run in the second quarter with a Charles Simms rushing touchdown to take a 13-10 lead. Then Jameis Winston threw a passing touchdown to give Tampa Bay a 20-10 lead. Todd Gurley got his first rushing touchdown of the season. Tampa Bay led the Rams 20-17 at halftime.

Todd Gurley got his second rushing touchdown in the third quarter. The Rams led 24-20 after three quarters.

The Rams took a 31-20 lead after recovering a fumble. Jameis Winston threw a touchdown to Cameron Brate, but missed the two point conversion. Tavon Austin caught a 43-yard receiving touchdown which gave Tampa Bay a 37-26 lead. Jameis Winston threw a passing touchdown to Mike Evans which made the game 37-32. Tampa Bay tried to rally downfield after a lightning storm delayed the game for nearly 30 minutes.

The Rams made a stop even though Tampa Bay got to the Los Angeles Rams 15yard line before time ran out. Robert Quinn had 3 solo tackes, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble as the Rams 4-3 right end. Quinn imposed his will on Winston and was a huge reason the Rams won despite Winston going 36/58 with 405 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 1 interception.

San Francisco 49ers 1-2-0
Seattle Seahawks 2-1-0

Game Recap: SEATTLE-Chip Kelly and Pete Carroll used to meet all the time when USC faced Oregon in the Pac 10 now known as the Pac 12. Now both coaches are rivals at the next level in the NFL.

Christine Michael got both of his rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to give Seattle a 14-0 lead. Michael finished the game with 20 carries, 106 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns.

The 49ers got a field goal before Russell Wilson threw his only passing touchdown to tight end Jimmy Graham. Jimmy Graham had 6 receptions, 100 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. This was Graham's best game in Seattle since the New Orleans Saints traded Graham to Seattle for a first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Steven Hauschka got a field goal to give Seattle a 24-3 lead at halftime. In the third quarter Russell Wilson left the game injured following a sack on Eli Harold. Wilson tore the upper part of his MCL, but is expected to play in Seattle's week 4 game against the New York Jets.

Seattle won 38-17. Doug Baldwin had 8 receptions, 164 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Baldwin was key in this game showing he could make plays for both Russell Wilson and rookie Trevone Boykin.

New York Jets 1-2-0
Kansas City Chiefs 2-1-0

Game Recap: KANSAS CITY-I initially picked the Chiefs to win this game. When I heard the Chiefs starting guards were gonna be out for this game, I figured the Jets would win. Especially with Jamaal Charles out again and Brandon Marshall playing. Boy was I wrong for changing my pick.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was awful. He went 20/44 with no passing touchdowns and 6 interceptions in the Chiefs 24-3 win over the New York Jets. Why wasn't Fitzpatrick benched for Bryce Petty at some point? That's what really puzzles me looking back on week 3.

Marcus Peters was phenomenal in this game. Brandon Marshall was blanketed only having 3 receptions for 27 receiving yards against the Chiefs. Eric Berry had an interception at strong safety as well as 3-4 middle linebacker Derrick Johnson. Even rookie cornerbacks Eric Murray from Minnesota and D.J. White from Georgia Tech stepped up. Murray had a fumble recovery while White had an interception.

Alex Smith went 25/33 with 237 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. Tight end Travis Kelce 6 receptions, 89 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown at tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce did well, but not remarkable in the Chiefs win over the Jets. Kelce still played well enough to please fantasy owners in PPR leagues though.

San Diego Chargers 1-2-0
Indianapolis Colts 1-2-0

Game Recap: INDIANAPOLIS-The Indianapolis Colts were looking for their first win. San Diego really tested Indianapolis in a barnburner even though Philip Rivers did not have Keenan Allen or Danny Woodhead to throw to.

Both Philip Rivers and Andrew Luck had their fair share of mistakes in this game. T.Y. Hilton was the difference maker for the Colts at wide receiver with 8 receptions, 174 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown in the Colts 26-22 win over the San Diego Chargers.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2-1-0
Philadelphia Eagles 3-0-0

Game Recap: PHILADELPHIA-Pittsburgh and Philadelphia were both -20 entering this game. One of those teams is going to start 3-0.

Philadelphia destroyed Pittsburgh 34-3. Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz was phenomenal in this game. Wentz went 23/31 with 301 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Wentz and the Eagles offense played turnover free football for the third game in a row.

Pittsburgh just looked sloppy. Sure, Antonio Brown had 12 receptions for 140 receiving yards, but the Eagles kept him out of the end zone and got another win to start the season 3-0.

Chicago Bears 0-3-0
Dallas Cowboys 2-1-0

Game Recap: DALLAS-Both teams played backup quarterbacks in Dallas. One team has a terrible backup and the other quarterback is a remarkable backup on the brink of becoming a starting quarterback.

Dallas's rookies completely dominated in this game. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott went 19/24 with 248 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, 1 rushing touchdown, 2 total touchdowns, and no interceptions. Ezekiel Elliott had 30 carries and 140 rushing yards in the 31-17 win over the Chicago Bears.

Atlanta Falcons 2-1-0
New Orleans Saints 0-3-0

Game Recap: NEW ORLEANS-New Orleans has far more injuries. Left tackle Terron Armstead is out as is Willie Snead and a lot of players on the Saints secondary.

New Orleans put together an 11-play 75-yard drive that took up 6 minutes and 35 seconds. Drew Brees fired a touchdown pass to Coby Fleener. Brees went 5/5 with 46 passing yards, and 1 passing touchdown on the Saints opening drive.

Atlanta recovered a fumble on a punt to the Saints. That put the Falcons in easy scoring position as Tevin Coleman tied the game at 7 on his first carry of the game.

Atlanta adjusted with two consecutive 3 and outs on defense. Matt Ryan threw a touchdown pass to Devonte Freeman which gave the Falcons a 14-7 lead in the second quarter. Drew Brees fired a passing touchdown to Michael Thomas to tie the game at 14.

Tevin Coleman ran it in again. Coleman's second rushing touchdown gave the Falcons a 21-14 lead. Matt Ryan pitched a shovel pass to Justin Hardy that went in for a touchdown and gave the Falcons a 28-14 lead. Atlanta led 28-17 at halftime.

Tevin Coleman ran it in for a third rushing touchdown which gave the Falcons a 35-17 lead. John Kuhn ran it in before the Saints succeeded on a 2 point conversion.

Atlanta kicked a field goal and led 38-25 after 3 quarters. Deion Jones returned a pick 6 to take a 45-25 lead.

New Orleans made it a 45-32. The Falcons won this game thanks to the play of quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan went 20/30 with 240 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Running backs Devonte Freeman and Tevin Coleman combined for over 60 fantasy points in PPR leagues. I'd know since I started both in one league.
