2017 NFL Week 2 Game Recaps



Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan faced off with each other for the first time since the 2017 NFC Championship game.

Houston Texans 1-1-0
Versus
Cincinnati Bengals 0-2-0


Game Recap: CINCINNATI-Deshaun Watson made his starting debut. Zach Cunningham also made his starting debut.


Houston's only field goal came at the hands of a John Ross fumble that Jadeveon Clowney recovered. Houston led 3-0 in the first quarter taking a 3-0 lead after one quarter. Cincinnati tied it at 3 in the second quarter.


Deshaun Watson entered his first two minute warning situation. Watson fired a screen pass to Lamar Miller. Watson fired another bullet to DeAndre Hopkins. Watson ran it in for a 49-yard rushing touchdown that made it a 10-3 game with Houston leading by a touchdown.


Randy Bullock, the former Texan converted another field goal for Cincinnati. That made it a 10-6 game. Houston led 10-6 at halftime with each quarterback getting sacked 3 times in the first half.


Cincinnati got the ball to the second half. Andy Dalton scrambled on third and one to keep a drive alive. Andy Dalton completed another third down. Cedric Ogbuhei is doing a good job at left tackle on this drive. Ogbuhei opened up a hole for Giovani Bernard and that led to a first down.


Tyler Eifert stepped out of bounds before going back in. That resulted in a loss of down and prevented Cincinnati from taking the lead. Houston made the stop. Cincinnati put together an opening drive in the third quarter that lasted 8 minutes and 34 seconds. Houston made a huge stop on that drive limiting Cincinnati to a field goal on that 8 minute 34 second drive. Houston leads 10-9 with 6 minutes and 26 seconds left in the third quarter.


Adam Jones made a huge deflection on third down. He was suspended in week 1. He has been a huge presence. Dre Kirkpatrick is a great field cornerback. This secondary is suspect when Adam Jones isn't on the field. Cincinnati got the ball back trailing by only a point.


Kevin Johnson got injured again at cornerback for Houston. That hurts Houston's depth at cornerback since the 2015 first round pick out of Wake Forest is filling the role A.J. Bouye played for the team. Tyler Eifert the Bengals' tight end also got injured on the play. Marcus Gilchrist made an awesome deflection which set up a fourth down. Cincinnati punted and Houston got the ball back.


Houston led 10-9 after three quarters. The Texans had the ball with one quarter to go.


Andy Dalton burned a timeout with 11 minutes to go. That would come back to haunt the Bengals. Deshaun Watson drove down field. DeAndre Hopkins really bailed Watson out and kept gaining confidence. An offensive pass interference penalty by Hopkins forced Houston to settle for a 42-yard field goal. The kick was good with Houston leading 13-9 with 1:56 in the fourth quarter.


Houston won 13-9. Deshaun Watson avoided turnovers and his rushing touchdown guided Houston to victory. It was a sloppy win though. Houston improves to 1-1 while Cincinnati falls to 0-2.




Cleveland Browns 0-2-0
Versus
Baltimore Ravens 2-0-0


Game Recap: BALTIMORE-Myles Garrett is still out for Cleveland. That may result in a field day for Joe Flacco.


Baltimore made a defensive stop. Jeremy Maclin was slow to get up with an injury.


Cleveland had the ball. Matt Judon forced a fumble. Baltimore got the football back.


Joe Flacco drove the ball downfield. Baltimore got a touchdown pass to make it a 7-0 game. Joe Flacco began the game 6/7 with 52-passing yards in the first quarter.


Kizer was faced with a tough 3rd and 18 situation. Kizer makes an excellent throw to Rashard Higgins. Eric Weddle picked off Kizer on the next third down. Baltimore got the ball back up 7-0. Cleveland had two turnovers in the first quarter while Baltimore had none. The Ravens led 7-0 after one quarter.


Joe Flacco began the game on a very high note. He went deep in the second quarter only to get intercepted by Jason McCourty.


Kizer got the ball back. Jimmy Smith was called with a defensive holding penalty.


Baltimore got the ball back. Joe Flacco rebounded from his pick by throwing a passing touchdown. Baltimore made it a 14-0 game.


DeShone Kizer left the game iwth a migrane. Kevin Hogan came in for Cleveland at quarterback. Hogan began the game 2/3 with 72-passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. Baltimore still led 14-7.


Kevin Hogan throws into triple coverage. Tyus Bowser the rookie out of Houston intercepts Hogan. Baltimore took a 21-7 lead after Jeremy Maclin caught a touchdown after returning to the game. Baltimore led 21-7 at halftime.


Cleveland got a field goal in the third quarter. Baltimore led 21-10 after three quarters. Justin Tucker got a field goal to begin the fourth quarter.


Baltimore won 24-10. Terrell Suggs had a sack and a forced fumble in this game. Suggs did a good job getting by left tackle Joe Thomas to get pressure on DeShone Kizer and Kevin Hogan. His ability to pressure the quarterback allowed Ladarius Webb, Eric Weddle, and Brandon Carr to intercept Cleveland. Cleveland falls to 0-2 while Baltimore improves to 2-0.




Chicago Bears 0-2-0
Versus
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-0-0


Game Recap: TAMPA BAY-Mike Glennon was the starter on Tampa Bay before they drafted Jameis Winston first overall in 2015. Tampa Bay used their bye week in week 1 thanks to Hurricane Irma.


Tampa Bay got a field goal on their first drive. Mike Glennon also began the game 6/6. He was eventually intercepted by his former team as Kwon Alexander made a huge interception.


Tampa Bay punted. Tarik Cohen fumbled the punt. Tampa Bay got the ball back as Cameron Lynch recovered the fumble.


Jameis Winston threw a touchdown pass to Mike Evans. That gave Tampa Bay a 10-0 lead. Tampa Bay led 10-0 after one quarter.


Tampa Bay extended their lead. That made it a 17-0 lead. Mike Glennon threw a pick 6. Tampa Bay took a 23-0 lead after the missed extra point.


Tampa Bay kicked a field goal as the first half expired. Tampa Bay led 26-0 at halftime.


Tampa Bay drove downfield. Leonard Floyd recovered a fumble that Charles Simms coughed up. Tampa Bay led 26-0 after three quarters as they enter the fourth quarter in field goal position once again.


Tampa Bay got a field goal. That gave the Buccaneers a 29-0 lead.


Mike Glennon got a touchdown in garbage time. It didn't amount to much though since Tampa Bay won 29-7. Wide receiver Mike Evans was the biggest reason Tampa Bay won. Evans had 7 receptions, 93 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown for Tampa Bay.




Minnesota Vikings 1-1-0
Versus
Pittsburgh Steelers 2-0-0


Game Recap: PITTSBURGH-Sam Bradford is out for Minnesota. Case Keenum will start versus Pittsburgh.


Pittsburgh got the ball first to start the game. Minnesota made a great defensive stop.


Ben Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass to Martavis Bryant. Minnesota got by Pittsburgh's left tackle and left guard to sack Roethlisberger. Pittsburgh led 7-0 after one quarter.


JuJu Smith-Schuster got his first career touchdown. Pittsburgh extended their lead to take a 14-0 lead.


Kai Forbath finally put Minnesota on the scoreboard. Pittsburgh led 14-3 in the second quarter.


Bud Dupree sacked Case Keenum. That set up a fourth down for Minnesota.


It was great to see Dupree back. Unfortunately T.J. Watt went down and was questionable to return. Pittsburgh led 14-3 at halftime.


Pittsburgh got the field goal. Steelers led 17-3 after that field goal by Chris Boswell.


A Dalvin Cook rushing touchdown was ruled down at the one yard line. Minnesota scored on the next play, but they missed the extra point. Pittsburgh leads 17-9 now.


Minnesota held Pittsburgh to a field goal. Everson Griffen had his second sack of the game. Pittsburgh led 20-9 following that field goal.


Pittsburgh led 20-9 after three quarters. Chris Boswell got two more field goals in the fourth quarter. Pittsburgh won 26-9 to improve to 2-0.


Quaterback Ben Roethlisberger was the player of this game. Roethlisberger went 23/35 with 243 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Ben made excellent decisions against one of the NFL's better defenses by picking apart Minnesota at home.





New England Patriots 1-1-0
Versus
New Orleans Saints 0-2-0


Game Recap: NEW ORLEANS-New England heads into New Orleans. Brandin Cooks faces his former team.


Tom Brady completes a pass to Rob Gronkowski on third down. That gave New England a first down. Tom Brady got New England in the end zone on his first drive. He threw a touchdown pass to Rex Burkhead after guiding the Patriots in the red zone. That drive was a 10-play drive which took up 4 minutes and 30 seconds and began his opening drive 6/7 with 58 passing yards.


New Orleans got a field goal on their opening drive. New England still led 6-3.


Tom Brady had another big play to Rob Gronkowski. Brady began the game 10/13 with 164 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns and no interceptions.


Brady had Chris Hogan open. P.J. Williams made a huge stop. That prevented New England from gaining a touchdown, but Brady threw to Hogan. New England took a 20-3 lead. Tom Brady threw his third passing touchdown in the first quarter. The Patriots led 20-3 after one quarter.


Drew Brees finally threw passing touchdown in the second quarter. That made it a 20-10 game.


Jonathan Jones made an incredible deflection. That forced the Saints to kick a field goal. New England led 20-13 after the Saints failed to draw New England offsides again.


Tom Brady went to Chris Hogan. New England wants to get another score before halftime. Brady fired a completion to Brandin Cooks. Tom Brady is 15/20 with 245 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. This was also the first time in Brady's career where he threw all of his passing touchdowns in the first quarter.


Mike Gillislee ran it in. New England took a 27-13 lead over the New Orleans Saints. New England got a field goal to take a 30-13 lead over New Orleans.


New England got two field goals in the second half. New Orleans got a touchdown. New England won 36-20.


The combination of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski is the biggest reason why the New England Patriots prevailed. Tom Brady went 30/39 with 447 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Tight end Rob Gronkowski had 6 receptions, 116 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown before leaving the game with a groin injury. The combination of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski allowed them to secure their first win of the season.



Philadelphia Eagles 1-1-0
Versus
Kansas City Chiefs 2-0-0


Game Recap: KANSAS CITY-Doug Peterson returns to Kansas City. Both teams are looking for 2-0 starts.


Alex Smith fired a completion to Travis Kelce. That resulted in a first down. Cairo Santos kicked a field goal. That made it 3-0 Chiefs.


Carson Wentz began the game 5/5 with 45-passing yards. Wentz was money despite being pressured by this Chiefs' pass rushing unit. Wentz's first incompletion was due to Torrey Smith dropping an easy touchdown pass in the end zone. Philadelphia got a field goal. That tied the game at 3-3. This game entered the second quarter with a 3-3 game.


Kansas City recovered a fumble on special teams late in the second quarter. That put Kansas City in scoring position. Cairo Santos got another field goal.


Terence Mitchell dropped a deflection. Zach Ertz still caught the pass and that put Philadelphia in position to tie this game at 6 heading into halftime. The kick was no good and the Chiefs led 6-3 at halftime.


Carson Wentz threw a touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery. That gave the Eagles a 10-6 lead.


Kareem Hunt ran for a huge rushing touchdown. That gave Kansas City a 13-10 lead. Kansas City led 13-10 after three quarters.


Philadelphia tied the game at 13 in the fourth quarter. Alex Smith fired a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce to make it 20-13. Then Kareem Hunt had another rushing touchdown to give the Chiefs a 27-13 lead. The Chiefs won 27-20.


Tight end Travis Kelce was the player of this game. Kelce had 8 receptions, 103 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Running back Kareem Hunt had 13 carries, 81 rushing yards, 28 receiving yards, 109 total yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. The combination of Kelce and Hunt allowed the Chiefs to gain a 2-0 start.




Tennessee Titans 1-1-0
Versus
Jacksonville Jaguars 1-1-0


Game Recap: JACKSONVILLE-Tennessee needs this win. Jacksonville has a huge opportunity to gain a 2 game lead in the AFC South which is pretty huge at this point.


Jacksonville took an early 3-0 lead with an injury. The Titans tied it at 3. The game was tied 3-3 after one quarter.


Brian Orakpo hits Blake Bortles. A fumble comes loose and the Titans get it back. Marcus Mariota threw an interception to Jacksonville three plays after Tennessee recovered the fumble.


Blake Bortles threw an interception. The Titans got the ball back after another Bortles turnover.


Tennessee Titans right tackle Jack Conklin had his second penalty in the first half. Taylor Lewan had a penalty at left tackle now. Ryan Succop got a field goal. The Titans led 6-3 at halftime.


Once the Titans took the lead, Jacksonville just could not play with the same confidence. Blake Bortles threw a pick which set up a drive that took up 4 minutes and 40 seconds. Tennessee led 9-3 following the drive.


Tennessee's defense made the stop. Derrick Henry ran it in for a touchdown. Tennessee took a 16-3 lead over Jacksonville.


Tennessee made another defensive stop. Marcus Mariota threw a 42-yard pass to Taywan Taylor. That made it a 23-3 Titans lead.


Tennessee led 23-3 after three quarters. Mariota threw a touchdown to make it a 30-3 game. Tennessee won 37-16. Brian Orakpo gave rookie left tackle Cam Robinson problems. Orakpo winning that mismatch was the biggest reason the Titans took control of first place in the AFC South today.




Arizona Cardinals 1-1-0
Versus
Indianapolis Colts 0-2-0


Game Recap: INDIANAPOLIS-Arizona doesn't have David Johnson at running back. Indianapolis does not have quarterback Andrew Luck.


Jacoby Brissett started for the Colts. Brissett guided the Colts down field to help them get a 3-0 lead. A penalty on the Cardinals made it first and goal reseting the score to 0-0. The Colts capitalized thanks to Frank Gore. That gave Indianapolis a 7-0 lead. The Colts got a field goal after that to take a 10-0 lead. Indianapolis led 10-0 after one quarter.


Carson Palmer made a horrendous throw through the tight end. Throws like this are why this offense is struggling today. Arizona had to settle for a field goal. Colts still led 10-3 after three quarters.


Indianapolis took a 13-3 lead. Carson Palmer threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to J.J. Nelson. Arizona made it a 13-10 game before Phil Dawson tied the game with a field goal to send it to overtime.


Tyrann Mathieu intercepted a pass in overtime. Phil Dawson would kick a field goal. The Cardinals never led during regulation and still won.





Buffalo Bills 1-1-0
Versus
Carolina Panthers 2-0-0


Game Recap: CAROLINA-Sean McDermott faces his former team. McDermott was a defensive coordinator on the Carolina Panthers last season now he's the Buffalo Bills head coach.


Graham Gano kicked a field goal. That gave Carolina a 3-0 lead. The Panthers led 3-0 after one quarter.


Graham Gano got another field goal in the second quarter. That made it 6-0 Carolina. Carolina led 6-0 at halftime.


Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. Both teams traded field goals in the fourth quarter. Tyrod Taylor had a chance to win this game. Carolina just made a great stop, but lost tight end Greg Olsen to a broken foot. Julius Peppers had a huge game in week 2 and was my player of the game as Carolina improves to 2-0.




New York Jets 0-2-0
Versus
Oakland Raiders 2-0-0


Game Recap: OAKLAND-Oakland faced the Jets in their home opener. Derek Carr was expected to have a huge game and did not disappoint.


Derek Carr threw a touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. Oakland led 7-0 after one quarter.


Carr went back to Crabtree in the second quarter. Oakland took a 14-0 lead.


After Oakland took a 14-0 lead, New York went on a run of their own. Josh McCown threw a touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse. Then the Jets kicked a field goal after getting the ball back later in the second quarter.


Jermaine Kearse wasn't the only former Seahawk to score in this quarter. Marshawn Lynch also scored for the Jets. Lynch's rushing touchdown gave the Raiders a 21-10 lead over the New York Jets at halftime.


New York got a field goal in the second half which made it an 8 point game. Cordarrelle Patterson had a touchdown. That made it a 28-13 game heading into the fourth quarter.


Oakland took a 42-13 lead with two touchdowns on the Jets. Oakland won 45-20. Quarterback Derek Carr was the player of this game. Carr went 23/28 with 230 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Michael Crabtree caught all 3 receiving touchdowns from Carr.




Miami Dolphins 1-0-0
Versus
Los Angeles Chargers 0-2-0


Game Recap: LOS ANGELES-Miami did not play last week due to Hurricane Irma. The Chargers also have a really small crowd working against them since they play in the Stub Hub Center home of the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.


Miami got a field goal in the first quarter. Miami led 3-0 after one quarter.


Young Hoe Koo tied the game at 3 in the second quarter. Melvin Gordon followed that up with a 10-yard rushing touchdown. That gave the Chargers a 10-7 lead at halftime.


Miami tied the game in the third quarter. Ryan Tannehill threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stills. Los Angeles regained the lead when Philip Rivers threw a touchdown pass to tight end Antonio Gates. Los Angeles led 17-10 after that throw and led 17-13 after three quarters.


Cody Parkey hit both field goals in the fourth quarter. Those field goals gave Miami a 19-17 lead. Younghoe Koo tried to avoid missing a game-winning field goal for the second week in a row. The decision to replace Josh Lambo with Koo looks horrible so far as its the biggest reason why the Chargers are currently 0-2.


Miami won due to the balance of quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Jay Ajayi. Cutler went 24/33 with 230 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. Ajayi ran for 122 rushing yards on 28 carries. The balance of Cutler and Ajayi needs to stay in place with Cutler avoiding turnovers like today if the Dolphins want to keep winning.




San Francisco 49ers 0-2-0
Versus
Seattle Seahawks 1-1-0


Game Recap: SEATTLE-San Francisco has never gone into Seattle to defeat a Seahawks team coached by Pete Carroll. Would today be their day?


The first half was a tale of two kickers. Blair Walsh was the kicker getting points in the first quarter. Walsh made two field goals in the first quarter. Those field goals gave Seattle a 6-0 lead after one quarter.


Robbie Gould made two field goals for San Francisco in the second quarter. The game was tied 6-6 at halftime in Seattle with neither team scoring in the third quarter.


Robbie Gould gave San Francisco a 9-6 lead in the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson's touchdown pass to Paul Richardson allowed Seattle to secure a narrow, yet ugly 12-9 win. Wilson was the biggest reason why Seattle won. He went 23/39 with 198 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions.





Washington Redskins 1-1-0
Versus
Los Angeles Rams 1-1-0


Game Recap: LOS ANGELES-Sean McVay was an offensive coordinator on the Washington Redskins. McVay became the Rams head coach and won his first game as head coach last week. Now he faced his former team hoping to get off to a 2-0 start with the Rams as the teams new head coach.


Washington got a field goal in the first quarter. Washington led 3-0 after one quarter.


Washington got a touchdown in the second quarter. Then the Redskins got another field goal to take a 17-0 lead.


Todd Gurley's rushing touchdown finally got the Rams on the board. Washington still led 17-7 until Greg Zuerlein hit a field goal to make it a 17-10 game.


Washington got another touchdown before the end of the first half. Washington led 20-10 at halftime.


Jared Goff threw a passing touchdown to Todd Gurley. That touchdown made it a 20-17 game. Washington led by a field goal after three quarters.


Greg Zuerlein kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter. That tied the game at 20.


With the game tied 20-20, Kirk Cousins needed to step up with a passing touchdown. Cousins finally threw a touchdown to put Washington ahead. Washington's corners did a great job limiting what Goff did in the fourth quarter. Kirk Cousins went 18/27 with 177 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interception. Cuins played smart football. He also is going to need to play a lot better if Washington wants to beat the Raiders next Sunday.




Dallas Cowboys 1-1-0
Versus
Denver Broncos 2-0-0


Game Recap: DENVER-Dallas traveled to Denver. This game was delayed for 62 minutes at one point due to weather and that's the biggest reason why this game didn't finish until the Sunday Night game started.


Trevor Siemian threw a touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders. This touchdown occurred before the weather delay started. Denver led 7-0 after one quarter.


Dak Prescott threw a passing touchdown to Dez Bryant. That tied the game at 7.


Trevor Siemian threw two more touchdown passes to C.J. Anderson and Emmanuel Sanders in the second quarter. Thouse touchdown passes gave Denver a 21-7 lead.


Dan Bailey kicked a field goal for Dallas right before halftime. Denver led 21-10 at halftime.


Denver was the only team to score in the third quarter. Trevor Siemian threw a touchdown pass to Virgil Green. Denver took a 28-10 lead. Garrett Bolles was carted off the field following one of Denver's touchdowns. C.J. Anderson still got a rushing touchdown even without Bolles. Denver was too fired up. The Broncos led 35-10 after three quarters.


Dak Prescott threw a touchdown pass to Jason Witten. That made it a 35-17 game. Prescott tried to make the game closer in the fourth quarter. Prescott threw a pick to Aqib Talib. Denver won this game 42-17 thanks to a superb effort on offense, defense, and special teams.


C.J. Anderson had 25 carries, 118 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 36 receiving yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 1 receiving touchdown, 28 touches, and 2 total touchdowns. Anderson showed he could lead this offense even after Bolles got carted off so Anderson gets props for that.




Green Bay Packers 1-1-0
Versus
Atlanta Falcons 2-0-0


Game Recap: ATLANTA-Green Bay and Atlanta faced off in a rematch of last years NFC Championship game. Aaron Rodgers was looking for revenge in Atlanta's brand new stadium. Green Bay didn't have left tackle David Bahktiari or right tackle Bryan Bulaga.


Not having those offensive tackles hurt Green Bay. It got worse when Jordy Nelson got injured on Green Bay's opening drive.


Devonta Freeman had a rushing touchdown in the first quarter. Ty Montgomery got into the end zone to tie the game at 7 after one quarter of play.


Freeman gave Atlanta's fans an encore with a second rushing touchdown. That rushing touchdown gave Atlanta a 14-7 lead.


Matt Bryant kicked a 51-yard field goal. Atlanta took a 17-7 lead.


Devonta Freeman wasn't the only running back to score for Atlanta in the first half. Matt Ryan threw a touchdown pass to Tevin Coleman, the running back who splits the back field with Freeman for Atlanta. The Falcons led 24-7 at halftime.


Desmond Trufant recovered a 15-yard fumble recovery. That gave Atlanta a 31-7 lead. Mason Crosby kicked a field goal to make it 31-10, but Matt Bryant kicked a field goal to make it 34-10. Atlanta led 34-10 after three quarters.


Green Bay played with nothing to lose. Aaron Rodgers saw Randall Cobb get injured too in the fourth quarter. Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to DaVante Adams. The two point conversion was no good. Atlanta led 34-16. Rodgers threw another touchdown in garbage time, but it didn't matter. Atlanta won 34-23.


Matt Ryan made excellent decisions and avoided tunovers once again. Matt Ryan went 19/28 with 252 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. Matt Ryan made sound decisions and played a huge role in his teams victory tonight. Green Bay has to be concerned about the number of guys on Green Bay's offense surrounding Aaron Rodgers that are injured to begin the season. Atlanta looks like they could continue to win games until they go to New England in week 7.

Game Recap: NEW YORK-Janoris Jenkins and B.J. Goodson were out for the New York Giants. That is one thing that Detroit may be able to exploit.


Right tackle Bobby Hart got injured for the Giants on their opening drive. Left guard Justin Pugh moved over to right tackle when Hart got injured.


Matthew Stafford scrambled for 13-rushing yards. Then he threw a touchdown pass to Marvin Jones while throwing on the run in the first quarter. That gave Detroit a 7-0 lead after one quarter.


Early in the second quarter, Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Evan Engram that tied the game at 7. Matthew Stafford fumbled a ball which the Giants recovered. Eli Manning threw a pick on the very next play and Stafford threw another touchdown to Eric Ebron. Matt Prater got another field goal too. Detroit led 17-7 at halftime.


Eli drove downfield. New York had to settle for a field goal. Miles Killebrew and Glover Quin have dominated at safety once again. Jarrad Davis dominated at middle linebacker in this game. He led Detroit in tackles, he called the plays on defense, he told A'Shawn Robinson to relax and get it together man when he was fatigued after he jumped on an offsides snap. He was triple teamed by the entire interior offensive line and still got past the line of scrimmage. Jarrad Davis brought it tonight. Detroit led 17-10 after three quarters.


Evan Engram dropped a critical reception on third down. New York punted the ball. Jamal Agnew the rookie out of San Diego returned a punt for a touchdown. The rookie out of San Diego returned an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown. Matt Prater missed an extra point. New York jumped the snap on the extra point and was offsides. Prater would re-kick from the 10-yard line. Detroit took a 24-10 lead.


Odell Beckham Jr. made an illegal block in the back that was not penalized. Jarred Davis got placed on concussion protocall as a result.


Eli Manning got sacked five times. Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall each dropped a pass. Engram dropped a pass. This Giants' offense was


Matthew Stafford dominated tonight. Stafford went 15/21 with 122 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Stafford did a phenomenal job recognizing blitzes and adjustments. The secondary featuring cornerbacks Darius Slay, Nevin Lawson, and Quandre Diggs all dominated with safeties Glover Quin, Miles Killebrew, and Tavon Wilson dominating too. Ziggy Ansah is getting healthy again and Jarrad Davis is making his presence known. Detroit's defense is playing like a Super Bowl defense right now.
