2016 NFL Week 15 Game Recaps

New England looks for revenge on Denver after losing the 2016 AFC Championship to the Denver Broncos.

Seattle Seahawks 9-4-1

Game Recap: SEATTLE-Robert Quinn is out for tonights game. Jared Goff is 0-4 as a starter. Case Keenum beat Seattle in week 2, but he got benched for Goff plus head coach Jeff Fisher got fired on Monday.

Frank Clark sacked Jared Goff on third down. Seattle got the ball following a rough series by the Rams. Tyler Lockett caught a pass on third down. It was ruled fourth and short before Pete Carroll challenged the play.

The call got overturned. Seattle continued to move the ball until Thomas Rawls was stopped on third down. Seattle punted the ball to the Rams going 1/2 on third down conversions that drive.

Kenny Britt caught a third down conversion from Jared Goff. Britt got injured on the play.

Jared Goff threw a perfect pass. Michael Thomas the rookie from Southern Miss dropped it. Running back Todd Gurley got by a gang tackle to run for a first down.

The Rams continued to move downfield. Jared Goff threw a pass to Brian Quick. Quick dropped the pass on third down. The Rams went for it on fourth down. John Fassel called a timeout to avoid the delay of game penalty. Todd Gurley ran for a first down even though it was short. Pete Carroll challenged the spot of the football.

The call was overturned again. Pete Carroll won a third challenge thanks to a stop by Bobby Wagner. The Rams had the ball for over five minutes, but came up empty handed.

Tyler Lockett caught a critical first down. That kept Seattle's drive alive. Russell Wilson scrambled. That kept Seattle's drive alive with another third down conversion.

The game was scoreless after one quarter. Russell Wilson had to have his jersey repaired so Seattle ran the clock out for the first quarter on another third down.

Lockett picked up another first down in the second quarter. Seattle got a roughing the passer penalty which gave them even more yards.

Seattle had a 13-play drive that took up 6 minutes and 47 seconds. Russell Wilson threw a touchdown to make it 7-0 and got a defensive holding call on fourth down after Doug Baldwin was short of the first down.

Los Angeles called a passing play with the punter throwing on fourth down. Hekker failed to complete the pass. Seattle got the ball back in Rams territory. Seattle settled for a field goal. Seattle took a 10-0 lead.

The Seahawks sacked Jared Goff on third down. That forced Los Angeles to punt the ball to Seattle.

Todd Gurley put together a huge run. That gave the Rams a first down at the two minute warning.

The Rams kicked a field goal. That made it a 10-3 game. Seattle led 10-3 at halftime.

Seattle got another sack on third down. That ended a Rams drive giving them four sacks on the night.

Russell Wilson threw an interception to Bryce Hager. The call stood as an incomplete pass. That meant that Doug Baldwin caught a touchdown. Seattle led 17-3 after three quarters.

Aaron Donald swatted a pass on the first play of the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson threw a deep pass to Tyler Lockett. That made it a 24-3 game.

Jared Goff made some impressive throws. Goff collided with Richard Sherman on a holding penalty before the Rams took Goff out to see if he got a concussion. Goff left the game while Case Keenum came in. That resulted in a turnover on downs with Seattle getting the ball back.

Seattle's punter got injured on a fake punt call. Aaron Donald got flagged with referee Brad Allen throwing his hat without a flag. Russell Wilson threw another pick.

Seattle won 24-3. Tyler Lockett had 7 receptions, 130 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Lockett was the biggest reason why Seattle won even though Russell Wilson was great until the fourth quarter when he threw a pick. He technically threw two picks, but one was overturned leading to the Doug Baldwin touchdown which is why Lockett got my player of the game photo after careful deliberation. Seattle clinched the NFC West division with this win as well.

Miami Dolphins 9-5-0
New York Jets 4-10-0

Game Recap: NEW YORK-Matt Moore faced Bryce Petty. This was a critical game for Miami to win with them getting control of the top seed in the wild card.

Bryce Petty threw a touchdown pass to Roby Anderson. That gave the Jets a 7-0 lead.

Miami got the ball. Darrell Revis broke up a pass intended for Jarvis Landry as Matt Moore was stopped on Miami's first drive.

New York drove downfield. Miami forced a fumble to get the ball back.

Miami could not get anything going on Matt Moore's second drive. Bryce Petty had problems as well. New York led 7-0 after one quarter.

Miami got a touchdown after winning a challenge. Miami missed an extra point in the second quarter with the Jets leading 7-6.

Matt Moore threw a touchdown deep to Kenny Stills. Miami led 13-7. The Jets got a field goal to lead 13-10 at halftime.

Walt Aikens blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. That gave the Dolphins a 20-10 lead. Matt Moore threw a touchdown to Dion Simms to make it 27-10. Then Moore threw a touchdown to make it 34-10. Miami led 34-10 after three quarters.

Miami won 34-13. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry had 3 receptions, 108 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Landry was a huge reason why the Dolphins won this game.

Green Bay Packers 8-6-0
Chicago Bears 3-11-0

Game Recap: CHICAGO-Alshon Jeffrey returned from his four game suspension. Jeffery hoped to have a huge game in his return.

Green Bay got a touchdown in the first quarter. Green Bay led 7-0 after one quarter.

Chicago got a field goal. That made it a 7-3 game.

Matt Barkley threw a touchdown pass which gave Chicago a 10-7 lead. Green Bay tied the game at 10. The score was 10-10 at halftime.

First play of the second half. Julius Peppers strip sacked Matt Barkley. That gave Green Bay he football in the red zone.

Green Bay got a field goal from Mason Crosby to make it 13-10. HaHa Clinton-Dix picked off Matt Barkley twice in the third quarter. Green Bay put on a clinic in the third quarter leading 27-10 after three quarters.

Matt Barkley threw a touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffrey. That made it a 27-17 game.

Jordan Howard ran it into the end zone for a touchdown. Packers still led 27-24. Chicago got a field goal to tie it at 27.

Late in the game, Aaron Rodgers threw a 60-yard completion to Jordy Nelson. That put Green Bay in field goal range. Green Bay kicked a field goal to win 30-27.

Ty Montgomery had 16 carries, 162 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Left tackle David Bahktiari and right tackle Bryan Bulaga were both phenomenal in this game. Montgomery plus the Packers offensive tackles Bahktiari and Bulaga step up.

Pittsburgh Steelers 9-5-0
Cincinnati Bengals 5-8-1

Game Recap: CINCINNATI-A.J. Green was out versus Pittsburgh. That put the Bengals at a huge disadvantage.

Both kickers got field goals in the first quarter. Andy Dalton ran it in for a touchdown on fourth and goal. Cincinnati led 10-7 after one quarter.

Jeremy Hill ran it in for a touchdown to make it 17-3. Chris Boswell kicked a field goal to make it 17-6. Cincinnati kicked a field goal to make it 20-6. Boswell again made it 20-9. Cincinnati was ahead 20-9 at halftime.

Chris Boswell kicked two field goals in the third quarter. That made it a 20-15 game after three quarters.

Chris Boswell kicked a sixth field goal in this game. Cincinnati led 20-18.

Eli Rogers caught the game-winning touchdown. That put Pittsburgh ahead 24-20. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was my player of this game. Ben Roethlisberger is 21/36 with 286 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions. Chris Boswell made 6 field goals as the kicker for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh can clinch the AFC North at Heinz Field with a win against the Ravens on Christmas Day. Cincinnati is eliminated from the 2017 NFL Playoffs with this loss.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2-12-0
Houston Texans 8-6-0

Game Recap: HOUSTON-Blake Bortles does not have Allen Hurns or Julius Thomas. Houston is 4-0 VS AFC South teams in 2016.

Neither team scored in the first quarter. Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler went 6/11 with 48 passing yards, no passing touchdowns, and 2 interceptions before getting benched for Tom Savage.

Jacksonville got two field goals and a Blake Bortles rushing touchdown by the Jaguars quarterback to give them a 13-0 lead. Houston got 5 points in the second quarter thanks to a safety and a field goal. Jacksonville led Houston 13-5 at halftime.

Houston got a field goal to make it a 13-8 game. Marqise Lee returned a 100-yard kickoff for a touchdown. That made it a 20-8 game.

Houston got a field goal in the third quarter. Jacksonville led 20-11 after three quarters.

Nick Novak made a field goal in the fourth quarter. That made it a 20-14 game.

Lamar Miller ran it in to make it a 21-20 game. Tom Savage rallied Houston back as the Texans improved to 8-6.

Cleveland Browns 0-14-0
Buffalo Bills 7-7-0

Game Recap: BUFFALO-Cleveland was still looking for their first win of the year. Buffalo needs to win out and hope for some help if they are gonna have any shot of making the playoffs.

Dan Carpenter kicked a field goal. That gave the Bills a 3-0 lead. Cleveland tied the game at 3 before Buffalo got a rushing touchdown. Buffalo led 10-3 after one quarter.

Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown pass to Charles Clay. Buffalo led 17-3 at halftime.

Robert Griffin IIII had an 18-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. That made it a 17-10 game.

LeSean McCoy had a rushing touchdown. Buffalo led 24-10. Buffalo led 24-13 after three quarters after Cleveland got a field goal late in the third quarter.

LeSean McCoy got another rushing touchdown to give Buffalo a 30-13 lead after missing the extra point. Dan Carpenter made a field goal with Buffalo winning 33-13.

LeSean McCoy had 19 carries, 153 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. McCoy ran wild and is the biggest reason the Browns are 0-14. Cleveland locked up a top 3 pick with this loss guaranteeing them Myles Garrett, Jabrill Peppers, or Jonathan Allen. Buffalo won a game they needed to win to remain alive in the 2017 NFL Playoff Picture.

Philadelphia Eagles 5-9-0
Baltimore Ravens 8-6-0

Game Recap: BALTIMORE-Jimmy Smith was out for this game. Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles would make this a shootout.

Joe Flacco threw a touchdown pass to Kamar Aiken. Baltimore took a 7-0 lead.

Caleb Sturgis got a field goal to make it a 7-3 game. Justin Tucker got a field goal to make it 10-3 after one quarter.

Ryan Matthews had a rushing touchdown to make it a one point game. The Eagles went for a two point conversion and Philadelphia took an 11-10 lead.

Justin Tucker kicked a 47-yard field goal to give the Ravens a 13-11 lead. Then Caleb Sturgis kicked a field goal to take a 14-13 lead.

Joe Flacco threw a touchdown pass to Steve Smith. Baltimore took a 20-14 lead at halftime.

Neither team scored in the third quarter. Baltimore led 20-14 after three quarters.

Kenneth Dixon ran it in for a rushing touchdown. That made it a 27-17 game.

Caleb Sturgis made it a 27-20 game. Carson Wentz drove the ball downfield. Wentz ran it into the end zone for a rushing touchdown. That made it a 27-26 game. Philadelphia opted to go for the two point conversion. The Eagles missed the two point conversion.

Baltimore won 27-26. Elvis Dumervil had 3 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 4 total tackles, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 forced fumble. Dumervil was the biggest reason why the Ravens had a slim victory.

Tennessee Titans 8-6-0
Kansas City Chiefs 10-4-0

Game Recap: KANSAS CITY-Kansas City did not have Derrick Johnson. Maybe DeMarco Murray can step up.

Tyreke Hill had a 68-yard touchdown. Kansas City led 7-0.

Alex Smith ran it in for a rushing touchdown. Kansas City led 14-0 after one quarter.

Derrick Henry ran it in for a rushing touchdown. That made it a 14-7 game.

Cairo Santos kicked a field goal. Kansas City led 17-7 at halftime.

Neither team scored in the third quarter. Kansas City led 17-7 after three quarters.

Tennessee kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter. That made it 17-10.

Derrick Henry ran it in. Tennessee went for two, but did not get it.

That was an extremely irresponsible decision to go for a two point conversion. Luckily Ryan Succop, the former Chief won the game for the Titans on a game-winning field goal.

Brian Orakpo had 4 solo tackles and a sack. Orakpo did an awesome job leading the Titans to a win.

Detroit Lions 9-5-0
New York Giants 10-4-0

Game Recap: NEW YORK-Detroit headed to New York. Both of these teams need a tenth win to secure a spot in the 2016 NFL Playoffs.

Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Sterling Shephard. That gave the Giants a 7-0 lead. The Giants led 7-0 after one quarter.

Matt Prater and Robbie Gould exchanged field goals in the second quarter. The Giants led 10-3 at halftime.

Matt Prater kicked a field goal in the third quarter. The Giants led 10-6 after three quarters.

Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. in the fourth quarter. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie intercepted Matthew Stafford in the fourth quarter. The Giants won 17-6.

Quarterback Eli Manning was the player that stood out in this game. Eli Manning went 20/28 with 201 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Detroit falls to 9-5 while New York improves to 10-4 with the GIants being in a position where they can clinch a playoff spot on Thursday Night against the Eagles.

Indianapolis Colts 7-7-0
Minnesota Vikings 7-7-0

Game Recap: MINNESOTA-Indianapolis headed to Minnesota. Adrian Peterson made his return at running back.

Adam Vinatieri hit a 48-yard field goal. The Colts led 3-0 before Robert Turbin ran it in for a rushing touchdown. Indianapolis led 10-0 after one quarter.

Andrew Luck threw a touchdown in the second quarter to make it 17-0. Then Robert Turbin ran it inot the end zone again. That made it 24-0. Adam Vinatieri kicked a field goal to give the Colts a 27-0 lead at halftime.

Minneosta got a field goal in the third quarter. Indianapolis led 27-3 after three quarters.

Andrew Luck threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Phillip Dorsett. Indianapolis won 34-6. Both the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings are 7-7.

Quarterback Andrew Luck went 21/28 with 250 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Indianapolis is very difficult to beat when Andrew Luck plays turnover free football.

New Orleans Saints 6-8-0
Arizona Cardinals 5-8-1

Game Recap: ARIZONA-This was a game both teams needed to win. Even if both teams win out, both teams have very slim odds of making the 2017 NFL Playoffs.

Arizona took a 7-0 lead. The Cardinals scored first, but New Orleans was quick to respond.

New Orleans got a field goal. then Drew Brees threw a passing touchdown. New Orleans led 10-7 after one quarter.

Calias Campbell recovered a fumble for a touchdown. That gave Arizona a 13-10 lead.

Drew Brees threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks. New Orleans regained the lead 17-12. Brees threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks. New Orleans led 24-12 after Brees connected with Cooks again.

Carson Palmer threw a touchdown pass to J.J. Nelson. New Orleans led 24-20 at halftime.

New Orleans kicked a field goal in the third quarter. The Saints led 27-20.

David Johnson ran it in for a rushing touchdown. The game was tied 27-27 after three quarters thanks to David Johnson.

Tim Hightower got a rushing touchdown to make it a 34-27 game in the fourth quarter. New Orleans led 34-27.

Drew Brees threw a touchdown pass to Michael Thomas. That gave the Saints a 41-34 lead. Tim Hightower ran it in for another touchdown. New Orleans led 48-34.

Arizona got another touchdown. New Orleans still won 48-41.

Both quarterbacks stepped up. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees went 37/48 with 389 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer went 28/40 with 318 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Both quarterbacks were phenomenal, but Brees did more to help his team win.

San Francisco 49ers 1-13-0
Atlanta Falcons 9-5-0

Game Recap: ATLANTA-San Francisco faces Atlanta. This should be an easy win for Atlanta.

Devonta Freeman got a rushing touchdown to give Atlanta a 7-0 lead. Matt Ryan threw two passing touchdowns in the first quarter to give Atlanta a 21-0 lead after one quarter.

Colin Kaepernick threw a passing touchdown to make it 21-7. Devonta Freeman got a rushing touchdown. Atlanta led 28-7.

Colin Kaepernick threw another touchdown. The 49ers went for two and failed to get the conversion. Atlanta led 28-13 at halftime.

Matt Bryant hit a 31-yard field goal. Atlanta led 31-13 in the third quarter.

Devonta Freeman ran for another rushing touchdown later in the third quarter. Atlanta led 38-13 after three quarters.

Atlanta got a field goal in the fourth quarter. Atlanta won 41-13.

Quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Devonta Freeman were the players of this game. Matt Ryan went 17/23 with 286 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Running back Devonta Freeman had 20 carries, 139 rushing yards, and 3 rushing touchdowns. Atlanta improves to 9-5 thanks to Ryan and Freeman while San Francisco falls to 1-13.

New England Patriots 12-2-0
Denver Broncos 8-6-0

Game Recap: DENVER-Tom Brady usually struggles in Denver. He needed to do well or watch New England's defense have a really good game against Denver's offense.

Denver muffed a punt return. New England kept the ball after a defensive stop by Denver. The New England Patriots got a field goal on their first drive. New England led 3-0.

Both teams had defensive stops. Then Denver got a field goal. It was 3-3 after one quarter.

Denver was driving heading into the second quarter. The Broncos had the ball at the Patriots 20-yard line. Logan Ryan intercepted a pass intended for Emmanuel Sanders.

Jared Crick sacked Tom Brady on a fumble. Left guard Joe Thuney recovered the fumble to keep the drive alive.

New England drove the football downfield after Tom Brady began this game 0/6 in the first quarter with 0 passing yards. Tom Brady fired three first downs to Julian Edelman before LeGarrette Blunt ran it in for a rushing touchdown. New England led 10-3 after that.

Denver drove down the field again. Denver chose to punt hte ball at the Patriots 37-yard line which is field goal range for Brandon McManus. This was extremely questionable decision making by Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak.

New England led 10-7 at halftime. Denver got the ball to start the second half.

Jabaal Sheard sacked Trevor Siemian on the first play of the second half. New England held Denver to a 3 and out to start the second half.

Both defenses were great in the second half to start things off. Tom Brady connected with both Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan late in the third quarter. That put New England in field goal range. New England got a field goal and took a 13-3 lead.

New England led 13-3 after three quarters. New England had the ball for 10 minutes and 50 seconds in the third quarter.

Both defenses remained stingy in the fourth quarter. Tom Brady threw a 340yard pass to tight end Martellus Bennett. That pass set up a field goal. New England took a 16-3 lead.

Bill Belichick made a bad call in this game too. He went for it on fourth and three at the Broncos 26-yard line as Blount ran nowhere. A field goal would have gave New England a 19-3 lead putting Denver in a position where they would have needed two scores and two two point conversions to tie the game.

Devin McCourty recovered a fumble. New England won this game 16-3.

New England's secondary was the sole reason they won this game. Field cornerback Malcolm Butler, strong safety Patrick Chung, free safety Devin McCourty, and boundary cornerback Logan Ryan all dominated in coverage. Malcolm Butler didn't give up an assignment in coverage until Emmanuel Sanders got by him in the fourth quarter. Patrick Chung had 1 deflection from a pass breakup. Devin McCourty recovered the game-winning fumble. Logan Ryan led New England with 7 solo tackles and had the only interception in this game. Phenomenal job by this Patriots secondary stepping up on the road in Denver today.

Oakland Raiders 11-3-0
San Diego Chargers 5-9-0

Game Recap: SAN DIEGO-This may be the last meeting between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers. Especially if the Chargers become the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017.

Philip Rivers threw a 47-yard passing touchdown to Travis Benjamin. San Diego took a 7-0 lead.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 45-yard field goal. San Diego led Oakland 7-3 after one quarter.

Josh Lambo kicked a 35-yard field goal. San Diego took a 10-3 lead in the second quarter.

Derek Carr threw a touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. That tied the game at 10. It was a 10-10 game at halftime.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 33-yard field goal in the third quarter. Oakalnd took a 13-10 lead.

Philip Rivers threw a touchdown pass to Hunter Henry. San Diego missed the extra point. San Diego led 16-13 after three quarters.

Sebastian Janikowski tied the game with a 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Janikowski also kicked a game-winning field goal that gave Oakland a 19-16 lead.

Oakland won 19-16. Sebastian Janikowski went 4/4 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points. Oakland clinched a playoff spot improving to 11-3 and regaining control of first place in the AFC West thanks to Janikowski.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-6-0
Dallas Cowboys 12-2-0

Game Recap: DALLAS-Gosder Cherillus was starting at right tackle for Demar Dotson. I thought that Tampa Bay may play well enough to cover the spread as 7 point underdogs.

Robert Aguayo kicked a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter. Tampa Bay led 3-0 after one quarter.

Dan Bailey tied the game on a 27-yard field goal. The game was tied at 3-3 in the second quarter.

Ezekiel Elliott ran it into the end zone. Dallas took a 10-3 lead as Ezekiel Elliott jumped into a Salvation Army barrel.

Dak Prescott had a 2-yard rushing touchdown. Dallas took a 17-3 lead.

Roberto Aguayo kicked a 34-yard field goal. Dallas led 17-6 at halftime.

Jameis Winston came out guns blazing in the second half. Winston threw two passing touchdowns in the third quarter to Adam umphries and Cameron Brate. Tampa Bay led 20-17 after three quarters.

Dan Bailey had three field goals in the fourth quarter. Even though Tampa Bay's defense gave this offense numerous opportunities to close this game, Tampa Bay just could not execute offensively when it mattered the most. Dallas won 26-20 thanks to Dan Bailey's three field goals in the fourth quarter.

There is no question that kicker Dan Bailey was clutch. Ezekiel Elliott still gets my player of the game award with 23 carries, 159 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown.
