2018 Senior Bowl: Game Recap

The South team took the ball first. Mike White got the start for the South team In Mobile at quarterback. Bradley Bozeman did a good job blocking on his opening drive. Taron Johnson from Weber State did a great job in coverage to force the South Team to punt it to the North Team.

Marcus Davenport got by Pittsburgh right tackle Brian O'Neill on third down. Davenport sacked Baker Mayfield on third down.

Rashaan Penny gains 34-rushing yards. Brandon Parker and Alex Cappa did a great job run blocking with Parker at left tackle and Cappa at left guard. Mike White threw a touchdown to cap off the second drive. South Team led 7-0.

Kalen Ballage made some big runs. Baker threw it into coverage on third down. Baker was off to a rough start in the 2018 Senior Bowl after dominating practices.

Daniel Carlsson missed a 33-yard field goal. Carlsson was making 58-yard field goals and 64-yard field goals during Senior Bowl practices. He made field goals from 60-yards in the pre-game.

Josh Allen came in for Baker Mayfield in the first quarter. Baker Mayfield went 3/7. Josh Allen ran for a few first downs. Davenport pressured Josh Allen on third down as Allen kept his cool, Allen Lazard dropped a wide open pass. The South Team led 10-3 after one quarter.

Josh Allen overthrew a deep ball. Alen threw another incompletion as the North Team punted it to the South Team.

Kurt Benkert threw a touchdown pass to Rashaan Penny, but he also threw an interception and went 4/11 in the first half. Penny caught a receiving touchdown. Benkert was my favorite quarterback for the South Team. The South Team went for a two point conversion and got it so they led 18-3. Josh Allen went 2/5 in the second quarter.

Josh Allen threw two touchdowns in the third quarter to make it an 18-16 game. The North Team didn't score after the failed two point conversion attempt.

Kyle Lauletta threw the next three touchdowns for the South Team. His three passing touchdowns gave the South Team an insurmountable lead. He was 8/12 with 198 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions.
