Morgan Epstein grades the Washington Redskins 2016 NFL Draft. Does Washington have a bright future after drafting Josh Doctson with the twenty second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft?
22. Josh Doctson, WR, TCU A- Grade
Josh Doctson will be a slot receiver to DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Jackson and Garcon are both in contract years so if Doctson does well in the slot as a rookie, he could get a bigger role and possibly become Kirk Cousins #1 target in 2017.
53. Su'a Cravens, 3-4 MLB, USC F Grade
Su'a Cravens played strong safety at USC. He's going to be a backup 3-4 middle linebacker in Washington. He's not playing his natural position and he's a backup which is why this pick got an F grade.
84. Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech C Grade
Kendall Fuller is the quarter cornerback on Washington's depth chart. Kendall Fuller is a project, but he's got enough potential to develop into a starting cornerback across from Josh Norman.
152. Matt Ioannidis, 3-4 LE, Temple F Grade
Matt Ionnidis is undersized. I'm not sure he's good enough to make Washington's final roster. Even if he makes the roster, he's going to be a backup.
187. Nate Sudfield, QB, Indiana C Grade
The Redskins needed to draft a third string quarterback to replace Robert Griffin III. Nate Sudfield was a solid addition in the sixth round.
232. Steven Daniels, 3-4 MLB, B.C. F Grade
Washington reached for Steven Daniels here. The 6-2 240 lb middle linebacker from Boston College has ability to play. He's also a warm body that needs a lot of work though. I'm giving this pick an F grade.
242. Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia D Grade
Keith Marshall is a third string running back. Washington reached for Marshall here.
Washington Redskins Team Grade: C- Grade
Washington got an immediate impact slot receiver in Josh Doctson. The rest of their draft picks are projects in the making which is why Washington got a C- grade.
