New England Patriots 6-7-0
Versus
Los Angeles Rams 9-4-0

Game Recap: LOS ANGELES-The rematch of Super Bowl 53 officially took lace in Sofi Stadium. This game had huge stakes for both the 2018 AFC Champion and the 2018 NFC Champion.

Jared Goff began this game with a 25-yard completion to Tyler Higbee. A neutral zone infraction by John Simon gave the Rams a first and five situaion.

Cam Akers the rookie running back had a 35-yard run. John Simon missed a tackle even with the absence of left tackle Andrew Whitworth. This set up a first and goal. New England was ready for Cam Akers on the play. New England stuffed Akers on second and goal. Jared Goff threw a completion to Cooper Kupp. New England made a huge stop on third and goal. Los Angeles went for it on fourth and goal. Jared Goff scrambled in for a rushing touchdown. This was a 6-play drive that lasted 3 minutes and 39 sconds. Los Angeles led 7-0.

New England got the ball. Damien Harris was stuffed by the Los Angeles Rams run defense as their front seven set up a second and nine. Cam Newton threw the ball to Damien Harris. Troy Hill broke up a pass on third down by hitting hard and timing the hit correctly. Hill can make plays like hit hard and get interceptions when you need him to. His man coverage was good enough to make a critical stop for the Rams.

Los Angeles had a chance to expand their lead. Cam Akers got a 14-yard run thanks to some superb run blocking by their offensive line and tight ends. Cam Akers got another carry, this one for 9-yards. That set up a second and one. Stephon Gilmore tackled Akers afer he ran for a fist down.

Jared Goff decided to throw a pass. New England pressured Goff and covered their receivers effectively, Gerald Everett was the intende target on the incomplete pass. Goff threw a screen pass to Robert Woods as he was swarmed. That play resulted in a two yard loss for the Rams. Goff went back to Robert Woods on third down for a first down.

The Rams put Robert Woods on the bench and brought a two tight end set with Cooper Kupp. Los Angeles fed the ball to Cam Akers, who ran for a first down. New England pressured Jared Goff. Jared Goff had an intentional grounding penalty. Jared Goff threw a 16-yard pass on third down and eighteen to Cam Akers. Akers had a big reception to put the Rams in field goal range.

Los Angeles made the field goal. New England was offsides on fourth and two. That gave the Rams a first down, but then the official ruled no penalty. Los Angeles led 10-0 thanks to kicker Matt Gay and confusion by the NFL Officials.

Cam Newton threw a completion to Jakobi Meyers. Meyers got by Jalen Ramsey to make the catch. Los Angeles stuffed James White. That set up a third and short. New England began this game 0/2 on third down conversions with the Los Angeles Rams defense stepping up early.

Jared Goff thre an accurate ball. Josh Reynolds dropped a first down. Jared Goff threw a completion to Gerald Everett. Cam Akers ran for a first down. Tyler Higbee's holding penalty made it first and twenty. Jared Goff went back to Robert Woods on first and twenty. Woods got 8 receiving yards before Jared Goff scrambled for a gain of 9. Jared Goff threw a completion to Robert Woods for what would have been a first down if New England didn't strip the all from Woods for an interception.

Los Angeles had 9 first downs in the first quarter to New England's 1. Los Angeles led 10-0 after one quarter of play.

Cam Newton threw an interception to Kenny Young. Young returned that interception for a pick 6. Los Angeles led 17-0.

Damien Harris ran for a first down. New England went back to Harris. Sony Michel ran for a first down. A holding penalty negated a Cam Newton first down. Byrd is the word. Damierre Byrd is the word with a first down for New England. Cam Newton ran for four. Cam Newton got a first down which set up first and goal. The Los Angeles Rams stuffed Damien Harris. Los Angeles stopped the run on second and goal too setting up a third and goal. Los Angeles stopped Cam Newton on third and goal. New England opted to go for it on fourth and goal. Justin Hollis made the stop on fourth and goal.

New England stopped Cam Akers on first and second down. Tyler Higbee got a first down on third down. Cam Akers was pressed big time which forced Jared Goff to make a throw into coverage thanks to a pressure by Deatrich Wise. Jared Goff made a throw to Gerald Everett and it was an incomplete pass. Jared Goff threw a completion to Cam Akers. That resulted in a defensive stop where the New England Patriots stopped the Los Angeles Rams.

Cam Newton threw a 31-yard pass to Jakobi Meyers. Los Angeles tackled Byrd on second down. N'Keal Harry caught a first down. New England lost a five yards due to a lateral. Cam Newton avoided the sack and scrambled on second and fifteen to set up a third down. Kenny Young prevented the first down to set up a fourth and two. Nick Folk made a field goal. Los Angeles led 17-3.

Jared Goff threw a completion to Cooper Kupp. Jared Goff threw an accurate completion, but his receiver dropped a pass on second and four. Jared Goff threw a third down to Cooper Kupp. New England made a stop on fourth down.

Los Angeles led 17-3 at halftime. New England would get the ball to start the second half.

Michael Brockers gets by New England's backup left tackle who is filling in for Isaiah Wynn. Aaron Donald pressured Cam Newton. Newton still made a 30-yard completion to N'Keal Harry. This time Aaron Donald got by New England's left tackle. James White had a gain of 2. That set up a third and eight for New England. `Los Angeles made a huge stop on third and eight. Harry got past Hill, but Newton overthrew that play which forced New England to punt the football.

Cam Akers had a nice run on the play. Akers had a career high 21 carries against Arizona. Los Angeles got a first down on fourth and goal. Jared Goff threw a touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp. Los Angeles took a 24-3 lead on a 16-play 90-yard drive that took up 9 minutes and 42 seconds.

Michael Brockers got a second sack on third down. Los Angeles led 24-3 after three quarters of play.

New England benched Cam Newton. Jarrett Stidham came into this game with nobody scoring in the fourth quarter. Derek Rivers, the former Patriot, who signed with the Rams was patting his former Patriot teammates on the back before Jared Goff took a kneel to end this game.

Los Angeles won 24-3. Los Angeles improves to 9-4 and ends their six game losing streak against the New England Patriots.

Cam Akers had 171 rushing yards, 23 receiving yards, and 194 total yards. He failed to get a rushing or receiving touchdowns despite having the most rushing yards against New England for a rookie running back dating back to 2013. Cam Akers had a great game and really showed he could be this teams third down back.

Kenny Young was my player of the game though. Kenny Young had 6 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 8 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 interception, and 1 defensive touchdown from the pick 6 on an 80-yard interception for a touchdown. Akers would have been my player of the game if he got a touchdown, but Young just did more in my opinion.

I also felt like FOX giving Akers player of the game and snubbing Young out of an interview by speaking to Aaron Donald was a completely lazy move on FOX's part. Aaron Donald dominated to the point where he could be defensive player of the year again, but I felt like Kenny Young had the biggest individual impact in tonights win even though Donald will tell you it was a team effort.

Minnesota Vikings 6-7-0
Versus
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-5-0

Game Recap: TAMPA BAY-Minnesota headed to Tampa Bay. The 7 seed in the NFC traveled to the 6 seed in the NFC.

This was a pretty vanilla contest that failed to live up to the offensive hype that many expected. Both teams are capable of having their moments on the defensive side of the ball.

Neither team scored in the first quarter. Dalvin Cook got a rushing touchdown, but Minnesota missed the extra point. Tampa Bay scored 23 unanswered points before obtaining a sloppy 26-14 victory.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was my player of the game only due to the fact that he played smart and avoided throwing any interceptions. Going 15/23 with 196 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions is effective, but not spectacular. If you look past Brady's decision making in this contest, you could argue that this was Brady's worst game of the season in terms of deep ball accuracy.

Neither one of these teams seems disciplined enough to get past the wild card round. Minnesota will have to win out just to have a shot at the 7 seed in the NFC.

Arizona Cardinals 7-6-0
Versus
New York Giants 5-8-0

Game Recap: NEW YORK-Arizona headed to New York. Daniel Jones returned from his injury as the top two quarterbacks in the 2019 NFL Draft battled.

Haasson Reddick had 5 solo tackles, 5 sacks 2 tackles for a loss, and 3 forced fumbles against the New York Giants. This one game was enough for Reddck to earn a new contract. Whether Reddick re-signs with Arizona or joins a new team remains to be seen after Arizoa's 23-9 victory over the New York Giants.

Kansas City Chiefs 12-1-0
Versus
Miami Dolphins 8-5-0

Game Recap: MIAMI-The Leigh Steinberg Bowl between Patrick Mahomes and Tua Tagovailoa took place. This is also where Mahomes captured his first Super Bowl.

Miami got off to a strong start thanks to their stellar defensive play early in this game. Patrick Mahomes had 2 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions and Kansas City still found a way to win this game.

Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce were both equally deserving of player of the game honors, but I went with Hill since he had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the contest. The fact that Mahomes had his worst game of the year and still won against an elite defense tells you a lot about Kansas City.

Tennessee Titans 9-4-0
Versus
Jacksonville Jaguars 1-12-0

Game Recap: JACKSONVILLE-Tennessee headed to Jacksonville. This game would be won on the ground with Derrick Henry facing off with James Robinson at the running back position.

Derrick Henry put up another clinic in a road win against an AFC South opponent. He did the same thing to the Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and A.J. Brown all dominated for Fantasy Owners in Tennessee's 31-10 win over Jacksonville.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill went 19/24 with 212 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions. A.J. Brown had 7 receptions for 112 receiving yards getting the majority of the yards in this contest after missing the week 2 game due to an injury. Running back Derrick Henry had 26 carries, 215 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Henry was my player of the game even though this was an offensive team effort by Tennessee.

Dallas Cowboys 4-9-0
Versus
Cincinnati Bengals 2-10-1

Game Recap: CINCINNATI-Andy Dalton returned to Cincinnati. Cincinnati was extremely dinged up with injuries. I was looking forward to Dalton VS Burrow, but we didn't get to see that thanks to the Washington Football Team knocking Burrow out.

Dallas won this game 30-7 thanks to the former Bengal known as Andy Dalton. This was the first Cowboys win by more than 3 points all season which shows you just how bad Dallas has been on paper this year.

Houston Texans 4-9-0
Versus
Chicago Bears 6-7-0

Game Recap: CHICAGO-Deshaun Watson faced Mitchell Trubisky. The top 2 quarterbacks from the ACC in the 2017 NFL Draft faced each other.

Both Watson and Trubisky deserve credit for avoiding throwing any interceptions to the opposing team. Neither quarertback stood out though Watson was outmatched against a vastly superior Chicago Bears defense that made him look obsolete without his supporting cast of wide receivers while Trubisky's average depth of target against the Texan as 4.4 yards past the line of scrimmage via PFF. Only Brandon Allen did worse, so no, Trubisky did not do enough to assert himself as the teams leader for the future despite beating Watson. 197 of Trubisky's 267 passing yards were due to his receivers via yards after the catch.

Trubisky outperformed Watson and Mahomes on Sunday in terms of having the highest passer rating of the three quarterbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft. His 27-20 record as a starter is better than Watson's 28-22 record as a starter. On his third passing touchdown in the first half, he designed the play where he connected with Allen Robinson for his only receiving touchdown on the day. Truibsky finally taking ownership shows me he needs to remain the starting quarterback for the end of the regular season, however, I'm not sure I would extend him for more than a year or two since I feel Chicago may be able to upgrade at this position in either the 2021 or 2022 NFL Draft.

David Montgomery still managed to amass 113 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown on only 11 carries. Allen Robinson had 9 receptions, 123 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown.

Both of those playmakers stepped up in Chicago's 36-7 win over Houston. My player of the game was Chicago Bears 3-4 middle linebacker Roquan Smith. Roquan Smith had 8 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 12 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 tackles for a loss. Roquan Smith humiliated Deshaun Watson to the point where A.J. McCarron stepped in for an injured Deshaun Watson.

Denver Broncos 5-8-0
Versus
Carolina Panthers 4-9-0

Game Recap: CAROLINA-Drew Lock headed to Carolina. This was a must win game for both teams.

Drew Lock avoided throwing any interceptions in Denver's upset win over the Carolina Panthers.

There are 7 quarterbacks in the 2019 or 2020 NFL Draft that have started 10 games or more in thieir career. Drew Lock is the only one without a losing record. He is 9-9 in his career as a starter.

New York Jets 0-13-0
Versus
Seattle Seahawks 9-4-0

Game Recap: SEATTLE-New York headed to Seattle. New York traded Jamal Adams to Seattle.

This 40-3 win by Seattle isn't even worth more than a paragraph. Quarterback Russell Wilson was my player of the game with 4 passinng touchdowns and 1 interception despite having less than 300 passing yards. This game was so ugly that Geno Smith came in to stick it to the 0-12 team that drafted him.

Indianapolis Colts 9-4-0
Versus
Las Vegas Raiders 7-6-0

Game Recap: LAS VEGAS-This game had huge implications on who would get a wild card spot. The Raiders on on the road against Jacoby Brissett in Lucas Oil Stadium againsst Indianapolis Colts in 2019. Now these teams met in Las Vegas not Oakland.

Philip Rivers did well and won the turnover battle against Derek Carr despite the fact that Carr had mare passing yards in this contest.

Indianapolis dominated the Las Vegas defensive line with their offensive line back at full health. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo, left guard Quinton Nelson, center Ryan Kelly, right guard Mark Glowinski, and right tackle Braden Smith bullied a Raider team that has Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby at pass rusher. Las Vegas needs a 4-3 defensive tackle to take pressure off their edges.

Jonathan Taylor was my player of the game. Jonathan Taylor had 20 carries, 2 receptions on 2 targets, 150 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards, 165 total yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Taylor ran for first downs and took off from the get go. There were even a few plays where Taylor moved the chains while Costanzo went to the locker room early in the game before returning.

Las Vegas has talented corners that had their moments on tape earlier in the season against teams like the Colts and Chiefs. The problem is their cornerbacks are still inconsistent to the point where even if they manage to get the 7 seed, they will get freaking carved by Pittsburgh or Buffalo. This win pretty much ensures that the AFC South runner up will be the six seed. This leaves Baltimore, Las Vegas, and Miami as the options for the final wild card. As long as Las Vegas wins out, they will get the final wild card.

Washington Football Team 6-7-0
Versus
San Francisco 49ers 5-8-0

Game Recap: ARIZONA-Alex Smith faced the team that he was drafted by. This game was in Arizona.

Alex Smith got injured in this game. San Francisco got off to an early lead.

Washington only won this game due to defensive turnovers that resulted in touchdowns. Chase Young was my player of the game as he made life hell for Nick Mullens. with 2 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 6 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 defensive touchdown as he unleashed the rapture on offensive tackles Trent Williams and Mike McGlinchey. Nick Mullens went from starting for the team that swept the Rams to losing to Dwayne Haskins. Both of these teams should probably upgrade their quarterback play when they can.

New Orleans Saints 10-3-0
Versus
Philadelphia Eagles 4-8-1

Game Recap: PHILADELPHIA-Drew Brees returned to practice on Friday, but Taysom Hill got the start. Jalen Hurts, also made his first start since being named the starter over Carson Wentz.

Philadelphia won this trap game on the ground. Miles Sanders and Jalen Hurts both got 100 rushing yards. Miles Sanders had 14 carries, 115 rushing yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Jalen Hurts went 17/30 with 167 passing yards, 106 rushing yards, 273 total yards, 1 passing touchdown, and no interceptions.

On defense, Philadelphia's defensive line dominated in the trenches against New Orleans offensive line at full health. New Orleans was supposed to have one of the top three offensive lines in the NFL without Drew Brees. New Orleans as a team needs Brees back next week with the Chiefs coming to New Orleans.

I would say linebacker is the one position New Orleans needs to upgrade this offseason. There is no excuse for giving up 100 rushing yards to both the opposing teams starting running back and starting quarterback, but I'll give Jalen Hurts all the credit in the world for making a statement against New Orleans.

Atlanta Falcons 4-9-0
Versus
Los Angeles Chargers 4-9-0

Game Recap: LOS ANGELES-Atlanta was playing to stay in the playoff race and Anthony Lynn was coaching for his job against an Atlanta Falcons team that did not have Julio Jones due to injuries.

Both defenses presented a tedious challenge for the opposing quarterbacks. I felt like Justin Herbert outplayed Matt Ryan in this win, Herbert also had more fantasy points too. This victory allows Anthony Lynn to keep his job as head coach until the end of the season.

Justin Herbert managed the game effectively and only became the fourth quartreback in NFL history to throw 25 touchdown passes as a rookie joining quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, and Baker Mayfield. Mayfield was the only one of those three to win offensive rookie of the year with Manning losing out to Randy Moss and Wilson losing out to Robert Griffin III. Los Angeles won 20-17 thanks to herbert.

Green Bay Packers 10-3-0
Versus
Detroit Lions 5-8-0

Game Recap: DETROIT-Detroit got news that their first round pick Jeffrey Okudah out of Ohio State got shut down for the year. Detroit got their second round pick D'Andre Swift back.

Detroit made this game competitive in the first half and you have to give them credit for that. You have to give Aaron Rodgers and this coaching staff even more credit for making the proper second half adjustments.

Getting Adams, Valdez-Scantling, and Tonyan involved makes it even harder to game plan around this offense. Green Bay leads the NFL with 39 touchdowns this season in 2020. That's one reason why the Packers are NFC North Champions. With the 1 seed secured and a bye week thanks to having the NFC's best record thanks to the week 3 win over New Orleans, Green Bay is back in the Super Bowl 55 conversation.

Pittsburgh Steelers 11-2-0
Versus
Buffalo Bills 10-3-0

Game Recap: BUFFALO-Pittsburgh headed to Buffalo. Tremaine Edmunds is 1-0 against his brother Terrell Edmunds who played for Pittsburgh. Both Virginia Tech brothers were first round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft Terrell needed to step up with Joe Haden out with a concussion.

Mike Hilton and Cameron Sutton stepped up early. Without Joe Haden to play field cornerback, Buffalo found a way to wear Pittsburgh down. As soon as Haden was ruled inactive due to his concussion I flipped my prediction at the last minute.

Pittsburgh got the first points. Buffalo won this game though and that was mainly due to wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Stefon Diggs had 10 receptions, 130 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. Diggs exploited this secondary at will without Joe Haden on this roster.

Baltimore Ravens 8-5-0
Versus
Cleveland Browns 9-4-0

Game Recap: CLEVELAND-This game would have huge implications for both teams in the AFC. Cleveland was hoping for a different result after their week 1 blowout loss at M&T Bank Stadium.

Cleveland began this game with the ball at their own 19-yard line. Baker Mayfield put together an 11-play 81-yard drive that took up 5 minutes and 54 seconds. Nick Chubb got a rushing touchdown. Cleveland led 7-0.

Baltimore put together a touchdown on their opening drive too. Cleveland put together another strong drive near the end of the first quarter. This game remained tied 7-7 after one quarter of play.

Cody Parkey missed a field goal to start the second quarter. After that, Gus Edwards and Nick Chubb exchanged rushing touchdowns. This tied the game at 14-14.

Lamar Jackson got a rushing touchdown. Baltimore led 21-14 at halftime.

Gus Edwards and Kareem Hunt traded touchdowns. Then Baker Mayfield threw an interception to Tyus Bowser. J.K. Dobbins ran it in for a touchdown with Justin Tucker missing the extra point. Baltimore led 34-20 after three quarters of play.

Lamar Jackson left the game at some point in the third quarter. Baker Mayfield began to take ownership of this game in the fourth quarter. He started with a passing touchdown to Rashad Higgins which made it 34-28. On his next drive he got a rushing touchdown to give Cleveland a 35-34 lead.

Lamar Jackson came back in on fourth down. He threw a touchdown pass and then J.K. Dobbins ran it in for a two point conversion. Baltimore led 42-35.

Baker Mayfield threw a touchdown pass on Cleveland's next drive. That tied this game at 42-42.

Baltimore drove the ball downfield. Justin Tucker made a game-winning field goal. Baltimore won 45-42. This was easily the game of the year with the way both former Heisman Trophy Winners Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson played. If either quarterback plays like this against Pittsburgh in January, when the playoffs win, then either one of these teams may be able to pull off the upset in January.
