Four of the eight quarterbacks impressed me on day 1. Those quarterbacks were Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Luke Falk, and Kurt Benkert of the South team. Every other quarterback looks like a backup based on what I've seen on tape.
The running back that stood out on day 1 was Kalen Ballage. The Arizona State running back had a big day.
James Washington struggled with the weigh in coming in at only 5-10. He was the fastest wide receiver running 21 miles per hour on day 1.
None of the tight ends stood out on day 1. Tyrell Crosby was the best offensive tackle for the North Team. For the South Team Alex Cappa out of Humboldt State had the best day. Bradley Bozeman did well at center. Guards Will Hernandez, Wyatt Teller, and Isaiah Wynn stood out on day 1.
Marcus Davenport and Shaquem Griffin both dominated off the edge. Davenport from UTSA and Griffin from Central Florida both did an awesome job getting pressure on the opposing quarterback for day 1. B.J. Hill did a good job at defensive tackle for the North Team.
I didn't see anyone impress at cornerback. One safety who did well in coverage on day 1 was Armani Watts. The one player who hurt himself on Day 1 was Iowa State wide receiver Allen Lazard. Lazard dropped a lot of easy psses.
Kutztown left guard Jordan Morgan impressed while Adam Bisnowaty disappointed. Bisnowaty lacks the strength to be a tackle, but may do well inside at guard. Both should still get drafted ahead of Conor McDermott who did not have success at left tackle or right tackle yet dominated at guard.
