SMU wide receiver James Proche was our best receiver on the board after Tyler Johnson got picked in the fifth round. Find out who took him in the sixth round.

The 6-4 302 lb Hakeem Adeniji has the versatility to play left tackle, left guard, right guard, or right tackle. Right guard is the only position I can see Adeniji having any success as a starter and this is a good fit for Cincinnati to start the fifth round. Worst case scenario you get a backup to Su'a Filo and best case scenario he wins the starting right guard job and holds his own there.
>The 6-3 315 lb Netane Muti may end up being a steal here. He dominated the 2020 NFL Combine with 44 reps on the bench press and has massive hands. His pass blocking strength and pass blocking footwork along with his pass blocking is phenomenal when he is healthy. He had two consecutive season ending injuries in 2018 and 2019 despite being healthy at the NFL Combine which is why he dropped this far.
I had the Chargers getting him as a backup to Dan Feeney in the fifth round. He was also the first guard taken in our group mock draft. Denver got him as a backup to Dalton Risner which is a fantastic fit.
He started at both guard spots on Michigan even though he's mainly a right guard. While its a reach, it's not a pick that you can bash someone as well respected as Belichick for this late in the sixth round.
I usually give long snappers an F grade. This guy was part of a 15-0 team and was the best long snapper in this draft. I also saw him in Mobile and that's the only reason why I'm giving Miami another A+ grade.
The Chargers have Derwin James, Adrian Phillips, Nasir Adderly, and now this guy. I liked his teammate Jalen Elliott more on tape so I was surpsried to see Gilman get picked first. That being said both Notre Dame safeties were good enough to get drafted.
Cleveland brought back Rashard Higgins. So now Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Rashard Higgins are Baker Mayfield's top three receivers once again with sixth round pick Donovan Peoples-Jones beginning his career as a backup in Cleveland.
Donovan Peoples-Jones was a former five star recruit in High School before enrolling into Michigan. He's got the skill set to be a slot receiver. former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer called him the toughest Wolverine to game plan against and even said should have been a top 10 pick.
Buffalo drafted the third best kicker on my board. Tyler Bass was in the 2020 Senior Bowl. Like Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship, he made 50-yard field goals, but struggled with 60-yard field goals during practices in Mobile.
The 6-6 224 lb Jake Luton is my dark horse quarterback of this draft. He kind of reminds me of Brett Favre. I think he's good enough to beat out Josh Dobbs for the backup gig and I also see him as someone with more upside than Gardner Minshew II. This is Minshew's team for now, but if Jake Luton sees the field, I won't be surprised if he ends up playing well enough to win the starting job as a rookie like Minshew did.
Also, I mocked Luton to Jacksonville. That's why I'm happy the the Jaguars took him here.
Really, this is who the 49ers had in mind. San Francisco has George Kittle in a contract year and insurance is needed in case Kittle isn't extended. Kittle probably will get extended soon though.
Left tackle David Bahktiari enters a contract year and right tackle Ricky Wagner needs depth behind him since he has not played a full 16-game season since Baltimore.
New England gets depth at offensive tackle since left tackle Isaiah Wynn has yet to play a full 16 game season since being drafted by the Patriots. Wynn is a good left tackle when he's healthy. Herron is a solid backup swing tackle that can come in and replace Marshall Newhouse.
Shaun Bradley played in Lincoln Financial Field when he was at Temple. Now he gets to remain there.
Philadelpha needs three new starting linebackers. This was the first linebacker they got since Davion Taylor in the third round so if the Eagles liked him enough to draft him then they probably know something that the other 31 teams don't.
I liked Antoine Brooks Jr. more than Anthony McFarland Jr. Pittsburgh has one good safety in Minkah Fitzpatrick that they traded for by giving the Dolphins Austin Jackson for the top defensive back in the 2018 NFL Draft. Terrell Edmunds isn't all that and Sean Davis is no longer on the Steelers so they get Antoine Brooks Jr. another former Terrapin to replace Davis hoping he will be just as good as Davis was.
I had Jordan Fuller graded slightly higher than Antoine Brooks Jr. I believe Jordan Fuller will be a backup safety in the NFL, but I like the fact that the Rams added depth at safety.
The 6-0 185 lb Quez Watkins ran a 4.35 40-time at the 2020 NFL Combine. Watkins had 63 receptions, 1,145 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in 2019. I had Watkins going at 130 in my mock, and he fell to Philadelphia at pick 200.
Philadelphia now has Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins from this draft to compliment receivers like Alshon Jeffrey, DeSean Jackson, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. There are no excuses for quarterback Carson Wentz since he has perhaps even more depth at wide receiver than he's had at any point in his career.
Baltimore gets a second receiver that can push Devin Duvernay for the slot receiver job. The 5-10 196 lb James Proche dominated his first two days in Mobile when he was asked to catch the ball whether it be as a starting wide receiver or as a return specialist on special teams. He was the only receiver outside Denzel Mims to go the first two days of Senior Bowl practices without dropping a pass.
Proche can run all thirty routes that an NFL receiver needs to run. His speed, catching, ball skills, and route running on tape looks better than Courtland Sutton's speed, catching, ball skills, or route running. Proche does not have the massive size and big play ability that Sutton provided which was one reason why some scouts gave Sutton a first round grade. I had a second round grade on Sutton and its starting to look like I was wrong about him since he corrected all of the weaknesses that I thought would catch up to him at the next level.
Back to Proche though. James Proche had 57 receptions, 709 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in 2016. Proche had 40 receptions, 816 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in 2017. Proche had 93 receptions, 1,199 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns in 2018. Proche topped that in his senior season when he had 111 receptions, 1,225 receiving yards, and 15 receiving touchdowns.
I honestly feel like this receiver has enough talent to come in and win a starting job in Baltimore. Also my tweet about him got me on to Senior Bowl radars. I'm not the only person in the media that tweeted about Proche.
James Proche is gonna get a Senior Bowl invite if he keeps balling out versus Memphis. I bet @JimNagy_SB is on that like the UPS delivery man.
#SMU WR James Proche doesn't have great size and won't run a 4.3.
But he has NFL-level ball skills and focus. Love the way he finds, tracks and adjusts to the ball in-flight. That plays at every level. https://t.co/UcQI4dxow6
The 6-2 237 lb Evan Weaver had 103 solo tackles, 79 assisted tackles, 182 total tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, 5 quarterback hurries, 3 deflections from pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles. Weaver provides great depth as a 3-4 middle linebacker for a team like the Arizona Cardinals here.
Minnesota has two solid offensive tackles with their left tackle Riley Reiff and their right tackle Brian O'Neill. They drafted Ezra Cleveland out of Boise State earlier as a successor to Reiff. Now they get Brandell for depth behind O'Neill at right tackle.
Blake Brandell wasn't on my board. However, Minnesota got depth at both offensive tackle spots. Every NFC North team needed depth at offensive tackle in this draft, but Minnesota was the only team to come away with two offensive tackles in this draft.
New England needed a 3-4 middle linebacker. Cassh Maluia was the 4-3 right outside linebacker on Wyoming next to Logan Wilson. I don't see him succeeding in a 3-4 defense like the one New England runs.
I had Josh Mettellus getting picked at 209. This is about the right draft range for him as Minnesota gets someone for depth at both linebacker and safety.
Jacksonville had Josh Oliver from San Jose State in the 2019 NFL Draft and Free Agent Tyler Eifert. Instead of finding a good tight end to push these guys for the starting job they settle for a third string tight end because they are looking for a certain type of role player that fits their criteria of a third string tight end.
The 6-4 210 lb Isaiah Hodgins was Oregon State's best player in 2019. Hodgins had 86 receptions, 1,171 receiving yards, and 13 receiving touchdowns. Isaiah Hodgins gives Buffalo a big body target.
The 6-4 303 lb Jake Hanson has the pass blocking, run blocking, pass blocking strength, run blocking strength, pass blocking footwork, run blocking footwork, and zone blocking to start at the next level. It's too bad he did not get an invite to the 2020 Senior Bowl. Green Bay needed depth at center behind starter Corey Linsley who enters a contract year with Green Bay.
I posted a film cut of Oregon's offensive line versus Auburn. Jake Hanson went up against Derrick Brown in this matchup.
Simon Stepaniak was someone that Green Bay was looking at in the late rounds. Now they get him as a backup to Elgton Jenkins at left guard with Lane Taylor gone.
The 6-5 307 lb Prince Tega Wanogho is being heavily overvalued in various NFL mock drafts as his tape against Alabama in 2019 is god awful despite Auburn's high scoring 45-42 win over Alabama as Anfernee Jennings is having his way with Auburn's blindside if you watch Auburn's offensive line against Alabama on Youtube, where as Driscoll is dominating Terrell Lewis at the line of scrimmage.
Many have Auburn's left tackle going a lot higher than this based on his upside along with his superb run blocking and zone blocking. Even though the run blocking, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork checks out to the point where you can argue Prince is a top 5 run blocker, he also happens to be a bottom five pass blocker in this draft which is why I have him sliding this far.
New York Jets: Isaiah Rodgers, CB, MassachusettsD Grade
This felt like a reach. New York needed a second cornerback next to Bryce Hall and Brian Poole. I think New York could have gotten someone better, but they can always try to get that player in next years draft.
New England got this compensation pick at 212 thanks to Malcolm Brown signing with the New Orleans Saints. Indianapolis got this pick when New England traded up with the Colts in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Indianapolis already has T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, and Michael Pittman Jr. as starters. Dezmon Patmon is a good number four receiver for depth behind those three big targets.
New England got this compensation pick at 213 thanks to Cordarrelle Patterson signing with the Chicago Bears. Indianapolis got this pick when New England traded up with the Colts in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Indianapolis got a backup safety for depth. Jordan Glasgow was Michigan's third best safety and that's my big issue with this pick.
Seattle got this compensation pick at 214 thanks to Shamar Stephen signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
Solid pick. Seattle took Freddie Swain over Tyrie Cleveland because he had better character and a better 40-time. Seattle already has Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and Philip Dorsett. They also have Josh Gordon for depth so getting someone to challenge Gordon for a roster spot is a solid pick. I wish they used this pick on an offensive lineman because the Seahawks cut starting center Justin Britt and starting right guard D.J. Fluker to save cap space which just really threw me off.
