Super Bowl 49 Predictions

Tom Brady is playing for a fourth Super Bowl Championship? Will his sixth time be the charm after losing 2 straight Super Bowls to the New York Giants?

New England Patriots 14-4-0
Versus
Seattle Seahawks 14-4-0

Jesse Lucas’ Pick

This will be a close game. It'll come down to Brady vs Wilson. Brady to Gronk is just too hard to stop.

Plus look at how much belichick schemes. The Edelman pass to Amendola. Stuff like that. We will see some ridiculous plays Sunday. I like New England 38 to 28. Patriots are your new Super Bowl Champions.

Jason Bantle’s Pick

Seahawks win. Seattle barely defeats the Patriots 28 to 27. Unlike Super Bowl 48, I expect this game to be a nail biter.

Chris Ransom’s Pick

Why the New England Patriots will win New England has better playmakers like Jesse said. Having guys like Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, and Danny Amendola has to give the Patriots an advantage.

The Patriots offensive tackle tandem featuring Nate Solder and Sebastian Vulmer will have a distinct advantage over guys like Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett. Neither player had 10 sacks in the regular season. Neither pass rusher is an elite pass rusher that can manhandle either offensive tackle on the Patriots. I think that gives New England a slight advantage.

New England is just as loaded on the secondary as the defending Super Bowl Champion Seahawks. Having cornerbacks like Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, Alfonzo Dennard, Logan Ryan, and Kyle Arrington gives you depth everywhere at cornerback. Your strong safeties include Patrick Chung and backup Duron Harmon. You also have two free safeties in zone coverage stud Devin McCourty who has previous experience at cornerback along with pure free safety Tavon Wilson. How does Russell Wilson expect to pick apart this pass defense after throwing 4 interceptions against the Packers.

Why the Seattle Seahawks will win Seattle ranked 3rd in run defense in the regular season. This defense is stacked at linebacker with Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, and K.J. Wright. The secondary is loaded as well with Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Byron Maxwell. You have to love the Seahawks.

Cam Newton did nothing against this defense. Russell Wilson threw 4 interceptions for the Seahawks in the NFC Championship, and the Seahawks still made the Super Bowl because this defense is that good. Seattle needs their defensive tackles to get by the interior offensive line because I expect the Patriots offensive tackles to give Brady enough time in the pocket to pick the Seahawks apart.

Marshawn Lynch needs 100 rushing yards. Center Max Unger has to win the one-on-one matchup against Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork. If Unger cannot set up rushing yards for Lynch, Seattle does not have a chance.

Prediction: This Super Bowl is a toss up. Heading into Monday, this game had no line. Late last week the Seahawks were a one point favorite. Today the Patriots are a one point favorite. The odds for this game keep tilting back and forth. Bo

Final Score Patriots 30 Seahawks 27

P.S. we included a quick bonus of the board game NFL Game Day that I bought. It features a Super Bowl 49 simulation where the Seahawks gain a 28 to 0 lead only to lose 64 to 51 after leading 38 to 8 in the second quarter. It is hard to see the whole game board, but check it out and let us know what you think.
