2015 NFL Wild Card Game Recaps

Arizona Cardinals 11-6-0
Carolina Panthers 8-8-1

Game Recap: CAROLINA-I was originally going to put 4 slideshows up. You can only put on up so we decided to put Jesse Lucas's slideshow for the Ravens VS Steelers game up.

Arizona had control of this game in the first half. Carolina took control in the second half when Cam Newton threw 2 touchdowns. Newton threw 95 of his 198 passing yards in the third quarter.

On defense you saw a team that got to the quarterback. Everyone besides left tackle Jared Veldheer looked bad on the offensive line. Carolina held Arizona to 27 rushing yards and 50 passing yards.

Middle linebacker Luke Kuechly had another big game. Quietly had 6 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 10 total tackles, and 1 interception. It is uncertain who the Panthers will play. All we know is that Newton got his first career NFL Playoff win.

Baltimore Ravens 11-6-0
Pittsburgh Steelers 11-6-0

5 Reasons Why The Baltimore Ravens Defeated The Pittsburgh Steelers

Posted By Jesse Lucas

5. Le’Veon Bell was out

Bell has been averaging 85.1 yards per game. He is as much the heart and soul of this team as anyone else wearing black and gold. Without him the Steelers had 6 different people attempt to rush the ball. Roethlisberger had the hasn’t average yards per carry with 8. You can’t win like that.

4. Roethlisberger had 2 INT – 1 TD

This one has got to fall on Big Ben to some extent. When you win the QB gets the praise, but you usually get the blame too if you lose. Ben’s game wasn’t horrible, but he could’ve been a lot more careful with the ball. He threw 2 picks and only 1 TD. The 2 picks resulted in drives by the Ravens totaling 10 points and that would have made this a much more manageable game.

3. Steelers O-line let Roethlisberger get sacked 5 times

If the running game was pretty much completely gone (which it pretty much was) you gotta protect your QB. If he’s getting pressured on every snap he can’t throw accurately and won’t make good decisions. It’s hard to throw downfield if you have to constantly look over your shoulder.

2. Ravens Defense stepped up

The Ravens defense stepped up big time in this game. Daryl Smith had 9 tackles and 2 forced fumbles. Lardarius Webb had 7 tackles. Brandon Williams had 4 tackles and 1 sack. And Dumervil recorded 3 tackles and 2 sacks. They were making plays all over the field and it led to a W and a chance to survive another week.

1. Flacco spread the ball around

Flacco only had 18 pass completions. Those 18 completions were to 9 different receivers. It’s a lot more difficult to defend against a passing game that is getting everyone involved and Flacco made that the case Saturday night. Steve Smith Sr. had 5 receptions, Owen Daniels had 4, besides that everyone had 1 and 2 receptions.

Cincinnati Bengals 10-6-1
Indianapolis Colts 12-5-0

Game Recap: INDIANAPOLIS-Last time these teams played, neither team got a third down conversion in the first half. You would think there would be more offense. Injuries to A.J. Green, Andre Smith, and Jermaine Gresham had to affect this offense.

Daniel Boom Herron dominated early. He had an 18 yard reception, a 27 yard run, and a touchdown in the first half. His score gave the Colts a 7 to 0 lead before Jeremy Hill tied it at 7. The Colts led 13 to 10 at halftime after a defensive second quarter.

The Colts defense got better as the game progressed. They gave up an early touchdown, but kept the Bengals to a field goal in the second quarter before keeping the Bengals scoreless in the second half.

Andrew Luck went 31 for 44 with 376 passing yards, 1 touchdown and no interceptions. Hilton had 103 receiving yards despite some dropped passes early in the game. Herron led the Colts with 10 receptions for 85 receiving yards. Hakeem Nicks had 3 receptions for 59 receiving yards and rookie Donte Moncrief had 3 receptions for 54 receiving yards including a 36-yard touchdown reception from Andrew Luck in the third quarter.

Colts won 26 to 10. Next Sunday the Colts head to Denver to face the Broncos.

Detroit Lions 11-6-0
Dallas Cowboys 13-4-0

Game Recap: DALLAS-This game took place in Dallas. Ndamukong Suh was not suspended for his cheap hits against the Green Bay Packers. Nick Fairley missed this wild card game with an injury. Suh had no one across from him to help him stop the run.

Detroit owned Dallas in the first quarter. The Lions led 14 to 0 after one quarter thanks to Golden Tate's 51 yard receiving touchdown along with Reggie Bush's 18 yard receiving touchdown.

Tony Romo connected with Terrance Williams to put Dallas on the scoreboard in the second quarter. Detroit led 17 to 7 at halftime and held a 20 to 7 lead for much of the third quarter.

Midway through the third quarter, DeMarco Murray ran for a touchdown. That made it 20 to 14.

Fourth quarter, Dan Bailey kicks a field goal. This one goes in. Lions still lead 20 to 17. Later in the third quarter, Terrance Willams caught his third reception of the game. This would be his second receiving touchdown. Say what you want about Romo being clutch throwing 293 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and no picks. Williams caught 3 of Romo's 18 completions and had 93 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.

The Lions lost because of a pass interference call that many argue was biased towards the Cowboys, even though I thought it was a legit call when looking at the replay. Dallas also recovered a Lions fumble late in the game. Dallas heads to Green Bay to face the team that defeated the Lions before Dallas. Dallas went 8-0 on the road in the regular season while Green Bay went 8-0 at home in the regular season. Guess we will find out who wins.
