2015 NFL Conference Championship Predictions

Tom Brady hosts Andrew Luck in this years AFC Championship Game. Last time these teams met at Gillete Stadium, the Patriots won big in the 2014 Divisional Round Playoffs.

Green Bay Packers 13-4-0
Seattle Seahawks 13-4-0

Jesse Lucas’ Pick

Green Bay was good last week but they were also at home. We saw this matchup already in week 1 of the regular season and the Seahawks completely dominated the Packers in every aspect of the game. I don’t think it’ll be as bad as week 1 but the Seahawks will make easy work of the Packers.

Jason Bantle’s Pick

Packers win the officials got the call RIGHT. Carolina proved the Seahawks are mortal with a close first half.

Chris Ransom’s Pick

Why the Green Bay Packers will win The Packers offense has a lot of playmakers. This offense is playing with a lot of momentum. Aaron Rodgers played turnover free football. Eddie Lacy exceeded 100 rushing yards. Jordy Nelson struggled, but Randall Cobb and DaVante Adams both exceeded 115 receiving yards while both tight ends caught a receiving touchdown. Quarless and the emerging rookie Richard Rogers are beginning to form an effective two-tight end set.

Bryan Bulaga cannot perform like he did in week 1 against the Seahawks. This offensive line did a great job blocking against the Dallas Cowboys. Rodgers played much better than Wilson did with the protection he had up front.

Green Bay can win if Julius Peppers plays like he did last week. The secondary cannot play such a sloppy game last week. Sam Shields and HaHa-Clinton Dix both missed a lot of coverage assignments.

Why the Seattle Seahawks will win Seattle ranked 3rd in run defense in the regular season. This defense is stacked at linebacker with Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, and K.J. Wright. The secondary is loaded as well with Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Byron Maxwell. You have to love the Seahawks.

Cam Newton did nothing against this defense. Russell Wilson dominated on offense.

Prediction: The Seahawks are a 7.5 point favorite with the average gambler betting $300 dollars on Seattle. This will be a one touchdown game where Green Bay covers. I like Seattle simply because of the way they played against Carolina on defense. How does Green Bay expect to win if Jordy Nelson cannot get past Richard Sherman.

Final Score Seahawks 24 Packers 17

Indianapolis Colts 13-5-0
New England Patriots 13-4-0

Jesse Lucas’ Pick

The Patriots are just playing too good for most other teams to keep up. The Colts offense and Pats defense will be a good matchup but the real game winner will be the Pats offense against the Colts defense. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Patriots scored some points on every drive of the game.

Jason Bantle’s Pick

Pats should easily win the AFC game.

Chris Ransom’s Pick

Why the Indianapolis Colts will win Indianapolis has one deadly offense. Hilton, Wayne, Nicks, Fleener, Allen, and Doyle. Four wide receivers and three tight ends. There is a reason why I picked the Colts to win the Super Bowl back in August. I had them beating New England at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Indianapolis knows how to stop the run. The Colts did a phenomenal job on secondary breaking up passes against the Broncos. They should win the AFC if they can duplicate that performance against the Patriots.

Why the New England Patriots will win Tom Brady finished the regular season with 4,109 passing yards, 33 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and a 97.4 passer rating. Brady had an awesome year. Now he has to dominate in the playoffs once again.

New England got a wakeup call against the Ravens. They battled through adversity and do not have to deal with Peyton Manning. It looks like this season may be the year Brady wins a fourth ring.

The Patriots have Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich at defensive end. Vince Wilfork is a Pro Bowl defensive tackle. These linebackers may not be big name players. These guys are sound tacklers. With Gosder Cherillus and Hugh Thornton injured at right guard and right tackle New England should b able to get to Luck.

This Patriots squad is loaded on the secondary with Darrell Revis and Brandon Browner at cornerback. Alfonzo Dennard plays nickel with Logan Ryan lined up at dime and Kyle Arrington as the quarter cornerback. New England has multiple strong safeties in Patrick Chung and Duron Harmon. Devin McCourty was a zone coverage corner coming out of Rutgers before moving inside to free safety. McCourty's backup Tavon Wilson was a free safety at Illinois before the Patriots drafted him as a backup free safety.

Prediction: The Patriots enter as a 7 point favorite. The average gambler is betting $275 dollars on New England. I picked the Colts to beat New England for the AFC Championship in Indianapolis back in August. The fact that New England has home field does give the Patriots an edge. I like the Patriots to win by one point, but if the Colts win I'm still right cause I picked the Colts to win the Super Bowl in the preseason. Either way I have the AFC Champion dethroning Seattle in Arizona in two weeks.

Final Score Patriots 21 Colts 20
