2014 NFL Week 2 Predictions

Can E.J. Manuel defeat the Miami Dolphins? The Buffalo Bills went 2-0 against the Miami Dolphins with Thaddeus Lewis starting against the Dolphins as a backup in 2013. There will be tremendous pressure on Manuel to deliver this Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0-0
Baltimore Ravens 0-1-0

What Ray Rice did to his woman was completely unacceptable. My good friend Antwan Dotson would like to give his two cents on the Ray Rice incident.

For those who say Ray Rice isn’t a rapist you are wrong. After he beat up his fiance he stole her shoes before leaving the scene of the crime. This was so subtle. That would make him a robber, a violent man, and a possible foot rapist. Did Rex Ryan teach you that during your rookie season? Very smooth Rice. In all seriousness Rex Ryan has to be ashamed of Rice and his unjustifiable actions. Now will somebody please make a remix of this song with the Ray Rice clip from TMZ along with clips of NFL announcers, head coaches, and Roger Goodell while uploading that clip to Youtube just to prove what a scumbag Rice is.

Why the Pittsburgh Steelers will win Pittsburgh looks outstanding. Both offensive lines suck. Ben Roethlisberger was outstanding last week against a much tougher secondary. Bell has the tools to run on the ground. Without Rice the Steelers have the better running game. I also believe the Steelers’ have the better run defense to take away the running game. Antonio Brown will find a way to pick apart a secondary that lacks its star corner in Ladarius Webb and Jimmy Smith has legal issues. Brown continues his dominance in the NFL.

Why the Baltimore Ravens will win Quarterback Joe Flacco faces a weak Steelers pass rush. Flacco may have quite a bit of time in the pocket on Thursday. Bernard Pierce will have nowhere to go since Pittsburgh has one of the leagues best run defenses. If Dumervil and Suggs get pressure on Roethlisberger, Baltimore has a chance.

Prediction: I like Pittsburgh in this contest. They simply have too much working in their favor right now. Their running game looks good and neither offensive line has the pass protection to be an asset to Joe Flacco at this point. The Ravens are 3 point favorites on the spread with the average gambler betting $150 dollars on the Ravens.

Final Score Steelers 20 Ravens 13

Jason Bantle’s Pick Steelers over Ravens

Miami Dolphins 1-0-0
Buffalo Bills 1-0-0

I went 8-8 in week in week 1. You can keep track of our weekly picks in our Draft Utopia message boards. Sign up today and post your predictions and other cool things in our message boards.

Why the Miami Dolphins will win Did you see how amazing the Dolphins’ pass defense was in week 1. Did you see how guys like Cortland Finnegan and Brent Grimes covered the receivers while Vernon and Wake rushed the quarterback? Miami has to be the favorite after seeing that. If the same Knowshon Moreno shows up in Buffalo Miami will start the season 2-0.

Why the Buffalo Bills will win E.J. Manuel has a golden opportunity to silence his critics. Buffalo was 2-0 against the Dolphins last year. With the Patriots at 0-1, this will be the Bills’ biggest game in quite some time. Like Miami, Buffalo has a 4-3 defensive line that can get pressure on the quarterback.

Prediction: I will take Miami 17 by a single point, but exciting defensive contest. This game is a push with the average gambler betting $110 dollars on this game. With no points spread this is a game where you should be betting more than $110 dollars.

Final Score Dolphins 17 Bills 16

Jason Bantle’s Pick Dolphins over Bills

Jacksonville Jaguars 0-1-0
Washington Redskins 0-1-0

The Redskins will host the Jaguars on CBS this Sunday at FedEx Field. Only two more weeks until we have to hear Jim Nantz and Phil Simms call a Washington game. Here is preview of what Nantz and Simms will sound like in Week 4.

Jim Nantz: Welcome to week 2 of the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars scored 17 unanswered points on the Philadelphia Eagles last week only to give up 34 straight points to lose. Now they will travel to Washington. Thoughts Phil Simms.

Phil Simms: Washington always has a formidable team. Lawrence Taylor and the Giants always had Washington’s number back in the day.

Jim Nantz: What was Washington’s team nickname again?

Phil Simms: Now I remember. The Giants used to play the Washington Bullets back in the day.

Jim Nantz: I am pretty sure they were called the Washington Redskins or something. The Washington Bullets was the old team name of the Washington Wizards you fucking dumbass.

Phil Simms: Jim I don’t like being called a dumb ass the same way native americans don’t like being called Redskins. Try to understand where we are coming from.

Jim Nantz: I bet 200 grand on the Steelers to cover the spread at the Rivers Casino last week against the Browns and those god damn savages fixed the game. Rich Native Americans that own casinos do this shit all the damn time. Pittsburgh was up 27 to 3 at halftime for petes sake. I’m more pissed off than Boomer Esiason after Boomer catches Dan Marino crapping himself redhanded on the NFL Today.

Phil Simms:You’re being too PG-13. I need you to be PC Nantz. Professional and considerate.

Jim Nantz: Who do you think I am Bob Cocksucking Costas? I’m Jim Nantz In Your Pants broadcasting NFL games on CBS.

Phil Simms: You shouldn’t be so mean to Bob Costas. I am certain the Jaguars will win in Washington. Calling Washington the Redskins is about as offensive as saying Asians can’t play hockey in the NHL.

Jim Nantz: The NHL sucks and everybody knows Asians cannot play hockey. All you have is P.K. Subban and a bunch of caucasian piss ants that hail from Canada. The Redskins have won the coin toss and have elected to receive.

Phil Simms: RGIII goes three and out and Chad Henne will get a chance to guide the Jaguars to a touchdown following a touchback on the previous punt.

Jim Nantz: Jaguars and Redskins are tied at 0-0. We’ll be back after these commercials to promote more NFL racism for revenue by pissing off Phil Simms and commentating about the Washington Redskins not Washington on CBS.

Why the Jacksonville Jaguars will win Jacksonville got off to a good start. Alan Hurns took the crowd out of the game when he needed to. Also there is less pressure on the Jaguars to deliver.

Why the Washington Redskins will win RGIII knows his job is on the line. He did not throw any touchdowns or interceptions last week. He looked good in the pocket.

Prediction: Washington is a six point favorite on the spread. I think this will be a game that comes down to who has the ball last at the end. One of these teams wins by a field goal.

Final Score Redskins 24 Jaguars 21

Jason Bantle’s Pick Redskins over Jaguars

Dallas Cowboys 0-1-0
Tennessee Titans 1-0-0

This just in. Jerry Jones has just hired former Initech Vice President Bill Lumbergh as the new GM and team consultant for the Dallas Cowboys. Every week we will get Lumbergh’s two cents on the Dallas Cowboys.

Here is this weeks advice from Bill Lumbergh.

"Jason Garrett what’s happening? Um yeah, if you could just get a quarterback to replace Tony Romo that would be great."

Why the Dallas Cowboys will win I cannot think of one good reason why Dallas will win. So I’ll give you guys more Lumbergh jokes. Coach Garrett if we could defeat the Titans this sunday that would be great.

Why the Tennessee Titans will win Dallas has a much weaker defense than the vaginal canal of a Chiefs cornerback tandem that Jake Locker picked apart last week. Remember the Titans? The Tennessee Titans team that started 2-0. Everybody on the offensive line is back at full health for the Titans. Most of these guys are confident from the week 1 win. Hard to see Dallas getting to Locker without Anthony Spencer or DeMarcus Lawrence.

Prediction: The Titans are 4 point favorites with the average gambler wagering $195 dollars on the Titans to cover the spread. Dallas will put up a fight and do better than the Chiefs when it comes to scoring on the opposition.

Final Score: Titans 31 Cowboys 17

Jason Bantle’s Pick Titans over Cowboys

Arizona Cardinals 1-0-0
New York Giants 0-1-0

Bill Clinton’s College Football Playoff Selection Special

Yahoo man. This is your 42nd William Jefferson Clinton. With the new college football playoff. Bill Clinton will pick the top 4 seeds in college football teams for the new playoffs as a member of the College Football Selection Committee. Check Out His Picks This Week.

  1. Florida State Seminoles: At #1 we have the Florida State Seminoles or as I call them the Semites. The Semites are led by the food stealer. Jameis Winston. The Seminoles are last years NCAA Champion so they deserve the top seed.

  2. Alabama Crimson Tide: The SEC also known as the South East Collegiate Pimps is the best damn conference in college football period. This is coming from an ex Razorback. Go Razorbacks. I cannot stand the Alabama Crimson Tide. However they do have the biggest pimp in the SEC, AKA Nick Saban. Alabama gets this spot. Roll Tide Roll Yahoo man.

  3. Oregon Ducks: Marcus Mariota can still kick ass and unleash a jedi quack attack without Chubbles the Clown AKA Chip Kelly.

  4. Oklahoma Sooners: Bob Stoops is the biggest pimp in the Big 12. He faces an SEC team in the Tennessee Volunteers. We all know what Bob Stoops did to Nicky Saban in the 2014 Sugar Bowl. We all know I did not have sugary sexual relations with Miss Monica Lewinsky.

Why the Arizona Cardinals will win Arizona has an outstanding cornerback tandem. Eli got flustered by the Lions defense. Carson Palmer looked sharp in a decent outing against the Chargers secondary. One could argue that the Giants defense is much weaker. I expect Carson Palmer to get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald more in this game while Michael Floyd continues to increase his value in fantasy leagues.

Why the New York Giants will win Eli is playing at home. Another factor to take into account is that the Cardinals’ front seven is depleted with suspensions and injuries. That could help Eli out if he makes the right plays.

Prediction: Look for the Cardinals to win another low scoring contest. In week 2 they defeat the Giants by double-digits. Jason-Pierre Paul has to get by left tackle Jared Veldheer for the Giants to have a chance. The Giants’ defense is as only as good as the pass rushers up front on the defensive line.

Final Score: Cardinals 17 Giants 7

Jason Bantle’s Pick Cardinals over Giants

New England Patriots 0-1-0
Minnesota Vikings 1-0-0

@CockyBelichick is my favorite Twitter user of all time. His twitter feed is that epic. He always inserts the #kisstherings hashtag and it is badass. I’m going to post his 5 best tweets on our site every week like David Letterman does with his top 10 jokes until the owner of this twitter feed requests I take them down because his tweets are that epic.

This tweet was pretty accurate, but Belichick craps better tweets in his sleep.

This tweet was cheesy in the best way possible.

The part about Ray Rice not being able to beat you at football was funny. Then ya had to mention his fiance ya JACKASS!

If it is any consolation, I also prefer Hoyer over Matt Cassel, and the Vikings are 1-0 cause they played the stinkng Rams.

ROFL LMFAO. This is the best @CockyBelichick tweet of them all. #kisstherings

Why the New England Patriots will win New England is too disciplined to lose two in a row. The Patriots will focus on stopping running back Adrian Peterson by stacking 8 in the box forcing Matt Casel to air it out. Brady and Belichick should deliver once again. The Vikings have a weak defensive line, so Brady will have more protection.

Why the Minnesota Vikings will win Minnesota has a shot if they score first. The Vikings have a shot if Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt keep defensive ends Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich in check. Minnesota has an outside shot of causing the Patriots to start 0-2 if Norv Turner calls the right game-plan. The Vikings can win if Cassel plays turnover-free football while Brady has an interception or fumble.

Prediction: The Patriots enter this game as 3.5 point favorites with the average better placing $170 dollars on Brady not Cassel. New England will be too disciplined and focused to lose this game. You have one of the NFL’s better secondaries going up against Matt Cassel’ receivers, and New England will focus on stopping Peterson first while relying on their secondary after Moreno ran for over 100 yards against the Patriots.

Final Score: Patriots 34 Vikings 17

Jason Bantle’s Pick

New Orleans Saints 1-0-0
Cleveland Browns 0-1-0

I heard the NCAA is going to lift Penn State’s bowl ban. Let me get this straight. USC gets a two year bowl ban for recruiting violations. Ohio State gets 2 years for paying players. Penn State originally got 4 years for the Jerry Sandusky incident, but now that sentence is being reduced to two years. This is bullshit and Penn State has no business in the college football playoff for breaking the rules.

There is one reason why the NCAA is doing this. It is because Penn State is the only Big 10 school left with a chance to go undefeated by winning a conference and getting a playoff bid. Ohio State lost to Virginia Tech. Michigan State lost to Oregon. Michigan lost to Notre Dame. Wisconsin lost to LSU. Iowa nearly lost to Iowa State in week 1. Nebraska nearly lost to a division 2 FCS school. That is how weak the Big 10 is this year. Christian Hackenberg looks like a beast this year and he was the top quarterback coming out of high school as a five star recruit. Now why would the NCAA want Penn State in the playoff.

This video I posted below during a scene of Blue Mountain State basically summarizes my thoughts towards the choice to let Penn State play in the college football playoffs. Spike TV owns the rights to the Blue Mountain State franchise, but I found this video on Metacafe where they give you an embedded code to upload a video to a website in code. I may have to take the video down. Still, the song speaks for itself. It’s all about money go ahead and tell yo mamma.

Why the New Orleans Saints will win New Orleans should win. Drew Brees is too talented to lose to the Browns. While the Browns’ secondary is promising it looked suspect against Ben Roethlisberger last week. Brees is arguably the top quarterback in the NFL after Peyton Manning.

Why the Cleveland Browns will win This secondary has talent with Joe Haden, Justin Gilbert, and Done Whitner. If these guys cover well, Brees options in the passing game will be limited. Brian Hoyer has a chance to beat the Saints at home with the right pass protection if the secondary does its part. The most surprising thing about the Browns in week 1 was that the pass rush showed up.

Prediction: The Saints enter the dogpound as 6 point favorites over the Browns. I like New Orleans in a low scoring game. This contest will be much closer than people think. Gonna make a gutsy pick by saying this game goes to overtime.

Final Score: Saints 17 Browns 14 OT

Jason Bantle’s Pick Saints over Browns

Atlanta Falcons 1-0-0
Cincinnati Bengals 1-0-0

It is time for our fist installment of the Adventures Of NFL Deputy Commissioner Buddy Clements. Clements was the man at Slippery Rock as President of the SGA. I guarantee you that SGA could tackle half of the NFL’s legislation policies with a bare hand. Seriously though there are some hot topics in the NFL up for debate this week.

Adventures Of NFL Deputy Commissioner Buddy Clements EPISODE 1 Ray Rice and Other Drugs

It was an ordinary day at the Robert Smith Student Center At Slippery Rock until the NFL Players Association Got Invited To A Top Secret Meeting on the third floor of the Robert Smith Student Center. Leading up to the mega NFL meeting there were tons of mini NFL meetings around the SRU campus.

There was the first annual infamous drinking game owners Super Bowl at Ginger Hill. Colts owner Jim Irsay went up against Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in the drinking game of the century.

The Pittsburgh Steelers owners and GMs were enjoying the finest meals of the century at Boozel. The Rooneys, GM Kevin Colbert, and the pencil dick known as Mike Tomlin were all debating about the best food at Boozel.

The Houston Texans infiltrated the ARC with swag. Owner Bob McNair, GM Rick Smith, former Penn State HC Bill O’Brien, Defensive Coordinator Romeo Crennel, J.J. Watt, and Jadeveon Clowney the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft all showed up to the ARC uninvited. The Rock Solid Training Staff at the ARC could not handle an NFL mafia of this magnitude. The biggest story of the day involving the Texans occurred when former Texan Case Keenum suffered a career ending injury on the Rock Climbing workout after being released from the team.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning got pissed off when his kicker Matt Prater accidentally ordered Quaker State Lube instead of Rocky’s. This was the first time that Manning flipped out on a kicker since Mike Vanderjagt missed a field goal for the Colts in the 2001 NFL Playoffs against the Miami Dolphins.

The biggest headline leading up to the meeting was the Patriots staff relaxing in the Robert Smith Student Center leading up to the meeting. Belichick puzzled by the overwhelming amount of cameras in the Student Center demanded that Tom Brady go on a Pokemon quest with Julian Edelman to find the secret room which allows security to monitor all these cameras. Belichick had to find that room so that he could videotape opponents at SRU leading up to the big meeting.

As the meeting began, Tom Brady ran into Buddy Clements, who told Brady that he was the new deputy commissioner of the league. Meanwhile Julian Edelman had a quick Pokemon Battle with SGA representative Matt Scott on Gameboy. Brady wanted to make a good first impression by helping Clements organize the mega NFL meeting in the top secret SGA room on the third floor. Edelman and Scott would eventually catch up to Clements and Brady before the Patriots recruited the Denver Broncos. Brady got the silent treatment when yelling for other teams to come to SGA. Peyton Manning mocked Brady’s lack of authority. Manning had little success recruiting others until he yelled Omaha only to watch everybody magically show up.

It was 7:10 PM and every owner was in attendance except for Irsay who was serving a suspension. Clements and the SGA committee told the league that Buddy was the youngest deputy commissioner in the history of the NFL.

Motion 1 All Those In Favor For All Players Playing For Teams Where Marijuana Is Legal Will Not Be Suspended For Smoking Marijuana In The Offseason Raise Your Hand

MOTION PASSED! Players on the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will not be suspended for smoking dope since maijuana is legal in Colorado and Washington. Marshawn Lynch got out a joint only to be informed by Buddy’s assistant Anthony Plumberg that smoking pot is still illegal in Pennsylvania.

Motion 2 All Those In Favor For Giving Players On The Denver Broncos And Seattle Seahawks Immediate Bans From The NFL For Dealing Pot To Teams Where Marijuana Is Illegal In Certain States Raise Your Hand

MOTION PASSED! As Clements chanted this statement, Peyton Manning and John Elway gazed at each other like two notorious horses staring at each other like chickens in a cockfight as sunset approached. The Manning VS Elway staring contest was one of the better moments of the meeting. You knew something was up. Perhaps a drug dealing scandal in the works in the city of Denver.

Motion 3 All Those In Favor Of Expanding The BCS College Football Playoffs To 8 Teams

Final Motion Of The Evening All Those In Favor For Watching Hardcore Females Who Like Other Women Give Ray Rice The Death Penalty Clothing Optional At Rockout Raise Your Hands

Next Week Clements and SGA will evaluate NFL Owners to make sure they do not abuse NFL Personal conduct policies.

Why the Atlanta Falcons will win Matt Ryan dominated Fantasy Leagues. He has a shot to be that guy once again by making a statement game. Nobody respects Ryan anymore with all the young quarterbacks entering the league. That motivates him to deliver.

Why the Cincinnati Bengals will win Cincinnati has a stout defense with a lot of premier starters that can pressure a quarterback. Playing at home also helps. Dennard and Hall limited Steve Smith and Torrey Smith to 5 receptions or fewer.

Prediction: Cincinnati enters the game as a 5 point favorite with NFL fans gambling an average of $225 dollars per bet. I think the Bengals win, but Atlanta covers the spread.

Final Score: Bengals 17 Falcons 13

Jason Bantle’s Pick Bengals over Falcons

Detroit Lions 1-0-0
Carolina Panthers 1-0-0

You can click this link to check out Jason Bantles Fantasy Football Page. Jason posts quality content for our website.

Why the Detroit Lions will win Joe Lombardi was the quarterback coach with the New Orleans Saints for the past seven years. Green Bay Packers had Tom Clemens as a quarterback coach for that long when they drafted Aaron Rodgers. If a quarterback coach and quarterback you draft remain together for a long time, both players will grow and better each other. Lombardi was able to take his experiences with Brees and transform Stafford into an MVP caliber quarterback on Monday Night. If the Lions take the NFC North it is due to Dan Lombardi not Jim Caldwell Jr. Caldwell sucked with the Ravens last year when Joe Flacco threw for a career low in passing yards while Ray Rice ran for a career low in rushing yards. Megatron, Bush, Bell, Tate, Pettigrew, Fauria, and Ebron. Stafford has too many targets in such an outstanding offense. Even if the offensive line misses blocking assignments, this offense is too good to fail.

Why the Carolina Panthers will win This is a homecoming game for Carolina following Cam Newton’s injury. Newton will be motivated to deliver after guiding Carolina to a 1-0 start.

Prediction: Carolina enters this game as a 2.5 point favorite on the spread. I expect Detroit to win so I am taking the points.

Final Score: Lions 37 Panthers 24

Jason Bantle’s Pick Lions over Panthers

St. Louis Rams 0-1-0
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-1-0

Make sure to check out Chevy Daniels Nascar page on Draft Utopia. You can click the NASCAR link in the yellow navigation bar at the top of the webpage.

Why the St. Louis Rams will win Give me a reason why the Rams will win. This is the 2014 NFL Season not the 2000 NFC Championship Shaun King VS Kurt Warner.

Why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will win Lovie Smith was embarrassed at home last week. Tampa Bay had a golden opportunity to start 1-0 and let it slip away. There is no excuse for Tampa Bay to start 0-2. If you lose to Derek Anderson and Shaun Hill at home in back-to-back weeks, you do not deserve to be a head coach in the NFL period.

Prediction: This game may end up deciding who gets the #1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. That is how big the implications are for both teams.

Final Score: Buccaneers 17 Rams 3

Jason Bantle’s Pick Bucs over Rams

Seattle Seahawks 1-0-0
San Diego Chargers 0-1-0

It is time for a weekly update on the Obamacare Fantasy Football League that I created for fun back in July. Here to breakdown the highlights is none other than Stephen Colbert.

Stephen Colbert: Welcome To the Obamacare Fantasy Football League. This is the one lame ass thing I had to do before CBS would let me replace David Letterman. Nation Why would Obama and 7 other politicians waste trillions of dollars over a meaningless game of Fantasy Football? Either way this league cannot be any worse than Draft Utopia or the League On FXX. Folks this Obamacare Fantasy Football League is so hardcore it makes Walter Football’s Fantasy Football Table Chart Spreadsheets for drafting players look like a game of Candyland.

The Obamacare Fantasy Football League Has a Republican Conference featuring Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain along with a Democrat Conference featuring Obama, Joe Biden, both Clintons Bill and Hillary.

Hillary Clinton defeated Sarah Palin 87 to 63 in the first game of the season. Both teams posted lackluster performances. Drafting Marshawn Lynch and A.J. Green with the first two picks gave Hillary the confidence to win.

Herman Cain defeated Joe Biden 97 to 85. Biden took Jamaal Charles #1 overall like a feeble old man. A Fantasy team consisting of Matt Forte, Demaryius Thomas, Rob Gronkowski, and Andre Johnson was enough to guide Cain to victory. The most puzzling aspect about Cain’s team was that he waited till round 9 to draft Philip Rivers as a starter.

The Mitt Romney VS Bill Clinton match up was the most exciting contest. Clinton took Lions studs Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush with his first two picks. Clinton followed that up with Jordy Nelson at WR and Le’Veon Bell at RB in the first four rounds. Romney brought a lot of firepower. His running back tandem featuring LeSean McCoy and Knowshon Moreno looks like the best one two running back combo in the league. Romney took Julius Thomas in the third round. Despite Tom Brady’s struggles in the second half, Brady still got more fantasy points than Robert Griffin III. Romney prevailed 111 to 105 in a high scoring affair.

Finally there was the Newt Gingrich VS Obama game. Everyone was looking forward to Newt dethroning Obamacare with Adrian Peterson, Drew Brees, Dez Bryant, and Julio Jones. Both Peterson and Brees underperformed, and Obama’s bizzaro strategy to draft a quarterback and tight end before any receivers or running backs worked. After taking Peyton Manning and Jimmy Graham with his first two picks, Obama added wide receiver Antonio Brown in round 3 and running back DeMarco Murray in round 4. As a result Obama schooled Newt Gingrich like a keebler elf 127 to 59. Nation why does Obama have to keep pissing off America. This is completely unacceptable folks. He probably celebrated by drinking and firing random drones in the Middle East after wiping the floor with my homeboy Newt.

In week 2 we get no winless teams or undefeated teams playing each other. Obama VS Bill Clinton part 1. Hill Dog VS Joe Biden Part 1. Romney VS Palin part 1. Then Newt Gingrich faces Herman Cain. Obama, Hillary, Romney, and Herman Cain all won in week 1. How many of these 1-0 owners can increase their records to 2-0 next week? Tune in next week to find out folks.

Why the Seattle Seahawks will win Seattle is the defending Super Bowl Champions. They have a much better roster and a secondary than the Arizona Cardinals team that Rivers encountered in week 1. Seattle has 10 days to prepare for this game. San Diego has 6. That will work in the Seahawks favor. Having guys like Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch that can provide balance is such an asset when these guys play turnover free football.

Why the San Diego Chargers will win Rivers is the joker to Wilson’s batman. Rivers fumbled a ball on third down and had a delay of game on fourth down. He sucked without Ken Whisenhunt. Expect more of the same mediocre play against the Seahawks in week 2.

Prediction: Seattle will destroy San Diego and continue to win with swag. Seattle is a 5.5 point favorite on the road and the average gambler is betting $235 dollars on the Seahawks.

Final Score: Seahawks 27 Chargers 13

Jason Bantle’s Pick Seahawks over Chargers

Houston Texans 1-0-0
Oakland Raiders 0-1-0

Why the Houston Texans will win Houston has a stout defense even without Clowney. It is a golden opportunity for the Texans to start 2-0.

Why the Oakland Raiders will win Derek Carr looked decent in week 1. I think the Raiders will get it done at home and put themselves in a position to win. Both of these teams have issues at quarterback. Houston has the better defense. Still I have more confidence in Carr.

Prediction: Both of these teams have respectable defenses. Expect another low scoring game. Houston is a 3 point favorite on the road with the average gambler betting $140 dollars on this game.

Final Score: Raiders 17 Texans 13

Jason Bantle’s Pick Texans over Raiders

New York Jets 1-0-0
Green Bay Packers 0-1-0

Why the New York Jets will win The Jets can take this game if right tackle Breno Giacomi plays like Justin Britt. Both of these teams have good front 7s and are thin on the secondary.

Why the Green Bay Packers will win Aaron Rodgers is too disciplined to lose two in a row. The Packers’ linebackers will take away the running game and force Geno Smith to be a pocket quarterback that throws it through the air.

Prediction: I like the Packers they seem more disciplined. Green Bay enters this contest as an 8.5 point favorite. Average gambler betting $375 dollars on the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay has the better passing game with more depth at wide receiver. The other thing to consider is that Jets star cornerback Dee Milliner is out.

Final Score: Packers 20 Jets 16

Jason Bantle’s Pick Packers over Jets

Kansas City Chiefs 0-1-0
Denver Broncos 1-0-0

Why the Kansas City Chiefs will win Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and running back Jamaal Charles both need 100 yards for this to happen. Having Alex Smith throw for 2 touchdowns and no interceptions like he did last season would also help.

Why the Denver Broncos will win Simply put, Peyton Manning has the best offense to work with in the entire NFL. There is an expectation and demand to win the Super Bowl. My gut tells me that Manning lives up to the hype.

Prediction: Denver blows out Kansas City. They win big. Broncos 13 point favorites and the average gambler is betting $725 dollars for Denver to cover the spread.

Final Score: Broncos 31 Chiefs14

Jason Bantle’s Pick Broncos over Chiefs

Chicago Bears 0-1-0
San Francisco 49ers 1-0-0

Welcome To NBC Sunday Night Football Survivor. My name is Ned Hastings. This Year, We have Team Michaels VS Team Collinsworth. Team Michaels consists of Al Michaels, Michele Tafoya, Dan Patrick, Mike Florio, and Peter King. Team Colinsworth features Cris Collinsworth, Bob Costas, Rodney Harrson, Hines Ward, and Tony Dungy. Now that we know who will be know who are teams are the Sunday Night Football game between the Bears and the 49ers will determine who gets immunity. Collinsworth will get the Bears while Michaels takes the 49ers. We will know who wins immunity next week.

Why the Chicago Bears will win Chicago has a talented offense with tons of playmakers. Matt Forte may be the top running back in the NFC. The Marshall and Jeffery tandem is a wide receiver combo that will give these 49er cornerbacks problems. Jay Cutler can win this game if the Bears avoid turnovers. It will be critical for defensive ends Jared Allen and Lamaar Houston to rush the quarterback in week 2.

Why the San Francisco 49ers will win The 49ers still have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. It is the defense that is the biggest concern.

Prediction: The 49ers are a 7 point favorite and the average better is betting $290 dollars on the 49ers. This game seems like a push. I was originally going to go 49-17 49ers. That seems too lopsided and unrealistic of a score. This game could end up being a push.

Final Score: 49ers 35 Bears 28

Jason Bantle’s Pick 49ers over Bears

Philadelphia Eagles 1-0-0
Indianapolis Colts 0-1-0

Why the Philadelphia Eagles will win With Robert Mathis out for the season, Nick Foles will get more time in the pocket. Losing Mathis was huge if the Texans and Titans both win in week 2, the Eagles have a chance to put the Colts in a difficult hole of where they will have trouble contending for a playoff spot.

Why the Indianapolis Colts will win The Eagles have one of the worst secondaries in the league. Finding cornerbacks was the Eagles biggest issue heading into the season. Allen Hurns picked apart this defense with 2 receiving touchdowns. Thinking about what Luck can do to the Eagles makes you believe the Colts can win.

Prediction: Looks like were in for another pushy. I meant to say push. The Colts are a 3 point favorite with the average gambler betting $140 dollars on the Colts to cover the spread. I think a field goal will decide this contest.

Final Score: Colts 38 Eagles 35

Jason Bantle’s Pick Colts over Eagles
