Both teams played intense defense for two periods. There was a lot of defense in the third period too. Nashville had a 5-on-3 with Pittsburgh's two best defenders Olli Maata and Trevor Daley were in the penalty box. That was Nashville's window of opportunity to strike and they didn't.

Pittsburgh scored late in the game and that's what it came down to with the game 0-0 and both teams playing excellent defense. Pittsburgh repeats as Stanley Cup Champions for this year thanks Patric Honrqvist and Carl Hagelin.

Nashville was 0/4 on the power play in game 6. Their defense played well and prevented Pittsburgh from getting on the power play. Pittsburgh was still able to overcome that.

Pittsburgh may have repeated. While they get Letang back next season they stand to lose one of their goalies to the Vegas Golden Knights as well as Nick Bonino to Free Agency. Enjoy this Stanley Cup win now Pittsburgh fans.
