2025 MLB Draft Results

Round 3

LSU pitcher Anthony Eyanson fell to the third round. Find out who got him.

Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: July 13, 2025.

  1. Chicago White Sox: Kyle Lodise, SS, Georgia Tech C- Grade

Chicago has Colston Montgomery at shortstop. I really don't understand what the White Sox are doing here.

  2. Colorado Rockies: Ethan Hedges, 3B, USC A+ Grade

The 6-1 185 lb Ethan Hedges was used as both a pitcher and hitter. Ethan Hedges posted a .344 batting average and 15 home runs at USC in 2025.

  3. Miami Marlins: Maxx Williams, CF, Florida State A+ Grade

Miami drafts an outfielder. Maxx Williams has the versatility to play all three outfielder roles at left fielder, center fielder, and right fielder.

The 6-2 207 lb Maxx Williams had a .321 batting average, 47 runs, 75 hits, 53 RBI's, 9 doubles, 0 triples, 19 home runs, 2 stolen bases, and a .991 fielding percentage in 2025. Maxx Williams has the power and size to be a power hitter at center fielder.

  4. Los Angeles Angels: Johnny Slawinski, P, Johnson HS (TX) C Grade

The Angels reached again. The Angels like the White Sox reached with all of their first three draft picks.

  5. Washington Nationals: Landon Harmon, P, East Union HS (MS) A+ Grade

The 6-5 190 lb Landon Harmon went 9-1 with a 0.92 ERA and had 112 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings pitched as a sophomore in 2023. Landon Harmon went 3-1 with a 1.07 ERA had 61 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings pitched as a junior in 2024. Landon Harmon went 6-0 in 30 innings with a 1.17 ERA, and 60 strikeouts as a senior in 2025.

Landon Harmon has a 96 mile per hour 4-seam fastball, a 93 mile per hour 2-seam fastball, a 81 mile per hour slider, a 88 mile per hour cutter fastball, and a 80 mile per hour changeup.

  6. Toronto Blue Jays: Jake Cook, LF, Southern Mississippi A+ Grade

The 6-3 185 lb Jae Cook had a .350 batting average, 83 hits, and 3 homeruns in 2025. He only struck once in every 12 at bats.

  7. Pittsburgh Pirates: Easton Carmichael, C, Oklahoma A+ Grade

The 6-1 200 lb Easton Carmichael started 60 out of 61 games. Easton Carmichael had a .366 batting average, 7 home runs, 19 doubles, 5 triples, a team best 93 hits, and a team best 64 RBI's in 2025.

  8. Cincinnati Reds: Mason Morris, P, Ole Miss A+ Grade

The 6-4 225 lb Mason Morris had a 3.29 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings pitched going 5-1 with 1 save in 2025. Mason Morris did not pitch more than 5 innings in a game which tells me he is a gonna be either a long reliever or a middle reliever on the Cincinnati Reds.

  9. Texas Rangers: Josh Owens, 2B, Providence Academy HS (TN) C- Grade

Josh Owens feels like another reach. Like the Angels and White Sox Texas is another team that reached with all of their picks.

  10. San Francisco Giants: Trevor Cohen, RF, Rutgers B Grade

The 6-1 195 lb Trevor Cohen had a .324 batting average and 10 stolen bases in 2024. Trevor Cohen had a .387 batting average and 10 stolen bases in 2025.

  11. Tampa Bay Rays: Tatin Gray, C, Dallas Center-Grimes HS (IA) D Grade

Tampa Bay reached here. There were better catchers on the board.

  12. Boston Red Sox: Anthony Eyanson, P, LSU A+ Grade

The 6-2 208 lb Anthony Eyanson broke out at LSU after two seasons as the number one starter UC San Diego. Remember Paul Skenes spent two seasons at Air Force before he transferred to LSU in 2023 prior to the 2023 MLB Draft. Anthony Eyanson went 12-2 with 108 innings pitched, 152 strikeouts, 2 saves out of the bullpen, and an ERA of 3.00 in 2025.

Anthony Eyanson has a 94 mile per hour 4-seam fastball that can go up to 98 miles per hour when he's used out of the bullpen, a 92 mile per hour 2-seam fastball that can go up to 97 miles per hour, a 82 mile per hour slider that can go up to 85 miles per hour when used out of the bullpen, a 75 mile per hour curveball that can go up 77 miles per hour, and a 80 mile per hour changeup that can go up to 82 miles per hour when Anthony Eyanson pitches out of the bullpen.

  13. Minnesota Twins: James Ellwanger, P, Dallas Baptist A+ Grade

The 6-4 205 lb James Ellwanger went 4-2 with a 3.98 ERA and 95 strikeouts as a sophomore in 2025. James Ellwanger only had 2 starts where he pitched more than 6 innings winning both games as a starter against Kent State and Jacksonville State.

James Ellwanger has a 95 mile per hour 4-seam fastball, a 81 mile per hour curveball, a 85 mile per hour slider, a 80 mile per hour changeup, and a 91 mile per hour cutter fastball. James Ellwanger could end up being the Minnesota Twins best pick from this years draft.

  14. St. Louis Cardinals: Jack Gurevitch, 1B, San Diego A+ Grade

Jake Gurevitch started all 56 games for San Diego. Jake Gurevitch had a .324 batting average, 11 doubles, 9 home runs, and 110 total bases in 2025.

  15. Chicago Cubs: Dominick Reid, P, Abilene Christian C Grade

This was a solid, but not a spectacular pick. Dominick Reid went 6-3 with a 3.26 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 2025.

  16. Seattle Mariners: Griffin Hugus, P, Miami FL D Grade

Griffin Hugus had an ERA of 4.16 or higher in all three years in College. He only had 1 win in his first two years at Cincinnati before transferring to Miami FL.

  17. Arizona Diamondbacks: Brian Curley, P, Georgia A+ Grade

The 5-10 212 lb Brian Curley went 6-0 with a 2.87 ERA as a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixteenth round of the 2024 MLB Draft, but transferred to Georgia for his junior season. Brian Curley could end up being a big time riser in the 2025 MLB Draft with a big season at Georgia giving Baltimore a future starting pitcher.

Brian Curley went 4-4 with 2 saves out of the bullpen posting a 3.35 ERA in 2025. Brian Curley had 90 pitches in each of his final six starts, but some teams feel he was more effective out of the bullpen versus starting since he had an ERA of 0.00 with 4 games where he pitched 3 or fewer innings each games before his ERA went up in 2025.

Brian Curley has a 97 mile per hour 4-seam fastball that reaches up to 100 miles per hour out of the bullpen, a 94 mile per hour 2-seam fastball that reaches up to 100 out of the bullpen, a 85 mile per hour slider, a 88 mile per hour cutter fastball, and a 82 mile per hour curveball. Curley began his draft year in Georgia's bullpen, but became a starter over time. He also was used as both a starter and reliever at Virginia Commonwealth before transferring to Georgia this past season.

  18. Baltimore Orioles: RJ Austin, CF, Vanderbilt A+ Grade

The 5-11 183 lb RJ Austin led Vanderbilt with a .335 batting average, 81 hits, 54RBI's, and 28 stolen baes in 2029. He also had a .309 batting average in SEC play in the leagues toughest conference.

  19. Milwaukee Brewers: Jacob Morrison, P, Coastal Carolina A+ Grade

The 6-8 245 lb Jacob Morrison went 12-1 with a 2.45 ERA, and 104 strikeouts as a sophomore redshirt in 2025. He redshirted in 2023 and missed 2024 with Tommy John Surgery. Jacob Morrison was 12-0 before losing to LSU in the Championship match of the 2025 College World Series.

Jacob Morrison has a 95 mile per hour 4-seam fastball, a 93 mile per hour 2-seam fastball, a 85 mile per hour slider, a 75 mile per hour curveball, an a 82 mile per hour changeup. Jacob Morrison's floor is a number five starter and his ceiling is a number one starter in the MLB.

  20. Houston Astros: Ethan Frey, RF, LSU A+ Grade

The 6-6 225 lb Ethan Frey had a .331 batting average with 15 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs, 50 RBI's, and 43 runs. He plays both designated hitter and right fielder with his versatility.

  21. Atlanta Braves: Cody Miller, 2B, East Tennessee State A+ Grade

The 5-11 189 lb Cody Miller had a .331 batting average and 18 home runs at East Tennesseee State in 2025. Cody Miller can play shortstop, third baseman, or second baseman with his versatility.

  22. Kansas City Royals: Cameron Millar, P, Alahambra HS (CA) D Grade

Cameron Millar was a reach here. His last name is spelled Millar, but prounounced Millar. This would be an A+ grade if Cameron Millar was Kevin Millar's son.

  23. Detroit Tigers: Ben Jacobs, P, Arizona State C Grade

Ben Jacobs had an ERA of above 4.00 on Arizona State. Big reach by the Detroit Tigers.

  24. San Diego Padres: Ryan Wideman, RF, Western Kentucky A+ Grade

The 6-5 204 Ryan Wideman had a .398 batting average, 10 home runs, and a .986 fielding percentage at Western Kentucky. Ryan Wideman spent two seasons at Georgia Highlands college before transferring to Western Kentucky in 2025.

  25. Philadelphia Phillies: Cody Bowker, P, Vanderbilt C- Grade

Cody Bowker was great at Georgetown. His ERA skyrocketted at Vanderbilt and not in a good way.

  26. Cleveland Indians: Nolan Schubart, LF, Oklahoma State A+ Grade

The 6-5 220 lb Nolan Schubart led the Big 12 with 12 home runs in 2024. Nolan Schubart led the Big 12 with 19 home runs in 2025.

  27. New York Mets: Antonio Jimenez, SS, Central Florida A+ Grade

Antonio Jimenez had a .329 batting average and 11 home runs in 55 starts as a sophomore with Central Florida in 2025. This is a fantastic value pick for the New York Mets.

  28. New York Yankees: Kaeden Kent, SS, Texas A&M A+ Grade

The New York Yankees got Jeff Kent's son in the third round. I like Kaeden Kent a lot more than the shortstop the New York Yankees spent a first round pick on.

  29. Los Angeles Dodgers: Landyn Vidourek, RF, Cincinnati A+ Grade

Landon Vidourek had a .304 batting average, 14 home runs, 43 RBI's, 39 stolen bases, 56 runs, 10 doubles, and 43 walks in 2025. Landyn Vidourek stole more bases for Cincinnati as an outfielder than Ian Happ did during his time with the Cincinnati Bearcats.

  30. Los Angeles Angels: Nate Snead, P, Tennessee C Grade

The Los Angeles Angels get a bullpen arm. This is a solid, but unspectacular pick.
