Round 7
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: June 26, 2026.
New York Rangers: Logan Stuart, C, USNTDP (USHL)
- The New York Rangers get a player with the potential to develop into a fourth line center with this seventh round pick. Logan Stuart is a good addition here in the seventh round.
- Logan Stuart has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Logan Stuart could develop into a fourth line center in the NHL.
- The 5-11 174 lb Logan Stuart had 3 goals, 12 assists, 15 points, 0 penalty minutes, and a +11 +/- ratio in 23 USHL games with the USNTDP team n 2025-2026. He also posted 10 goals, 20 assists, 30 points, 16 penalty minutes, and a +6 +/- ratio in 57 games with the US Under 18 Team in 2025-2026.
- Logan Stuart is one of the best dekers in this draft. He got an assist to Victor Plante on a play where Plante scored on Tobias Trejbal. He also got multiple assists to Mikey Berchild too. Logan Stuart will play for the Lethbridge Hurricanes next season.
Chicago Blackhawks: AJ Francisco, D, USNTDP (USHL)
- Chicago drafts a defenseman to stash and develop. I don't see AJ Francisco being anything more a number seven reserve defenseman on an NHL team or a number one defenseman on an AHL team. His father, cousin, his two second cousins with one male cousin as well as one female cousin being the two second cousins, grandfather, great uncle, and great grandfather are all featured as family members for AJ Francisco on Elite Prospects.
- AJ Francisco has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. AJ Fracisco is good enough to be a top line defenseman on an AHL team. He will need to improve his defensive awareness in order to make a case for being a bottom pairing NHL defenseman.
- The 5-11 174 lb AJ Francisco had 3 goals, 12 assists, 15 points, and 4 penalty minutes in 22 USHL games with the USNTDP team n 2025-2026. He also posted 8 goals, 33 assists, 41 points, and 22 penalty minutes in 58 games with the US Under 18 Team in 2025-2026.
- AJ Francisco got guys like Mikey Berchild and Wyatt Cullen assists on tape. He is going to play for the Fargo Force next season in the USHL before enrolling at Notre Dame in 2027. His father, grandfather, and great grandfather all played at Minnnesota Duluth. If Notre Dame does not work out for AJ Francisco, do not be surprised if he goes to Minnesota Duluth in the transfer portal at some point down the road.
Colorado Avalanche: Kade Stengrim, LW, Medicine Hat Tigers (OHL)
- Colorado drafts a left winger for depth. Kade Stengrim is a power forward wiith a combination of size, speed, and a wicket shot that makes him hard to defend. He's dangerous off the rush and has strength below the goal line protecting the puck and delivering reverse hits. He brought a unique edge to the Medicine Hat Tigers lineup after replacing Gavin McKenna with the Medicine Hat Tigers retaining the rest of their 2025 WHL Championship roster.
- Kade Stengrim has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Kade Stengrim could develop into a fourth line left winger in the NHL.
- The 6-4 207 lb Kade Stengrim had 25 goals, 19 assists, 44 points, 147 shots on goal, a +22 +/- ratio, 2 game-winning goals, and 1 power play goal in 66 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers 2025-2026. Kade Stengrim had 0 goals, 2 assists, and 2 points in 3 games in the in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
Detroit Red Wings: Anttoni Uronen, C, Helsingfors IFK (SM Liiga)
- Detroit ended up drafting a player with the potential to develop into a first line forward in the seventh round. Anttoni Uronen has the versatility to play left winger, center, and right winger.
- Anttoni Uronen has the versatility, skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Anttoni Uronen is the ninty fifth player with first line experience or potential in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- The 6-1 201 lb Anttoni Uronen had 6 goals, 5 assists, and 11 points in 14 games with the Helsingfors IFK Under 20 Team in 2025-2026. Anttoni Uronen had 2 goals, 8 assists, 10 points, a +7 +/- ratio, and 2 penalty minutes in 27 Liiga games against men in Finland in 2025-2026. Anttoni Uronen had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 5 games in the 2026 Liiga Playoffs.
Dallas Stars: Jere Somervuori, LW, Helsingfors IFK (SM Liiga)
- Dallas finally takes a player from Finland in the seventh roud. Jere Somervuori has more experience against men in Liiga than his teammate Anttoni Uronen despite some scouts saying Uronen has the higher ceiling. Both players on Helsingfors IFK the same team in Finland that had Miro Heiskanen look like they could be Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, or Joe Pavelski type draft steals out of Finland.
- Jere Somervuouri has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Anttoni Uronen is the ninty sixth player with first line experience or potential in the 2026 NHL Draft, but he's not getting looked at because he has a seventh round grade. The Dallas Stars have more intel on players from Finland than any other team.
- The 6-0 158 lb Jere Somervuori had 4 goals, 1 assist, and 5 points in 4 games with the Helsingfors IFK Under 20 Team in 2025-2026. Jere Somervuori had 6 goals, 10 assists, 16 points, a +3 +/- ratio, and 2 penalty minutes in 52 Liiga games against men in Finland in 2025-2026. Jere Somervuori had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 5 games in the 2026 Liiga Playoffs.
Seattle Kraken: Leo Tuuva, RW, Rauman Lukko (SM Liiga)
- Seattle gets a right winger to stash and develop. Leo Tuuva may not be as good as the last two players from Finland drafted, but he's got enough upside to develop into a fourht line right winger on an NHL team.
- Leo Tuuva has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Leo Tuuva could develop into a fourth line right winger on an NHL team if he can fix his defensive awareness.
- The 6-1 187 lb Leo Tuuva had 1 goal, 4 assists, and 5 points in 5 games with the Rauman Lukko Under 20 Team in 2025-2026. Leo Tuuva had 4 goals, 10 assists, 14 points, and 6 penalty minutes in 34 Liiga games against men in Finland on Rauman Lukko in Liiga in 2025-2026.
Winnipeg Jets: Joe Salandra, RW, Barrie Colts (OHL)
- Winnipeg drafts a right winger to stash and develop with this seventh round pick. Joe Salandra could be a fit here as he has enough upside to develop into a fourth line right winger on an NHL team as the Barrie Colts 2025 third round pick in last years OHL Draft is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
- Joe Salandra has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Joe Salandra has the floor of a first line AHL right winger and the ceiling of a third line NHL right winger which means he should develop into a fourth line right winger as Joe Salandra had assists to Brad Gardiner, Emil Hemming, and Kashawn Aitcheson.
- The 5-10 198 lb Joe Salandra had 12 goals, 26 assists, 38 points 137 shots on goal, a +3 +/= rato, and 3 power play goals in 59 OHL games with the Barrie Colts in 2025-2026. Joe Salandra had 2 goals, 4 assists, 6 points, and a +1 +/- ratio in 18 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs as the Barrie Colts made the 2026 OHL Finals before losing to the eventual 2026 Memorial Cup Champion Kitchener Rangers.
Chicago Blackhawks: Jean-Samuel Daigneault, D, Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL)
- Chicago drafts another defenseman that projects as a number seven defenseman on an NHL team or a number one defenseman on an AHL team. Jean-Samuel Daigneault is the best player available.
- Jean-Samuel Daigneault has the playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ. He needs to develop his wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot accuracy. Otherwise he will be an AHL defenseman.
- The 6-3 190 lb Jean-Samuel Daigneault had 0 goals, 5 assists, and 5 points in 47 USHL games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Jean-Samuel Daigneault had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 12 games in the 2026 USHL Playoffs.
San Jose Sharks: Marek Sklenicka, G, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)
- San Jose is pretty stacked at goalie. San Jose has Yaroslav Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic as two stop gap goalies while 2025 first round pick Joshua Ravensbergen continues to develop. I wouldn't draft a goalie, but I heard San Jose has as many as thirty goalies in their top 300 and another team that I mocked a goalie to in round seven has as many as forty goalies in their top 300. If that is the case, they will draft someone late with this pick in the seventh round hoping they can find a backup goalie to Ravensbergen. Worst case sceanrio, you get either a starting goalie on your AHL team or a backup goalie in the AHL. Seattle Thunderbirds goalie Marek Skelnicka is the best goalie available.
- The 6-4 180 lb Marek Sklenicka had a 3.21 goals against average, .902 save percentage, and 3 shutouts posting a 20-12-6 record in 38 starts playing 42 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the WHL in 2025-2026. Marek Sklenicka went 1-2-1 in 4 games with a 3.67 goals against average and .913 save percentage in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Marek Sleknicka checked off 7/10 boxes and needs to improve his reading the puck by tracking, rebound control, and post save recovery.
Nashville Predators: Dylan Dean, C, Edmonton Oil Kings (OHL)
- Nashville drafts someone that can develop into a fourth line center on an NHL team down the road. Dylan Dean is a good value pick in the seventh round. The Edmonton Oil Kings took Dyla Dean with their very next pick in the 2023 WHL Draft in the second round after taking Joe Iginla in the first round of that draft.
- Dylan Dean has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Dylan Dean can develop into a fourth line center on an NHL team down the road.
- The 6-1 179 lb Dylan Dean had 15 goals, 14 assists, 29 points 100 shots on goal, 22 face off wins, a +21 +/= rato, and 4 power play goals, and 2 game-winning goals in 52 WHL games with the Edmonton Oil Kings in 2025-2026. Dylan Dean had 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 points in 7 games in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
St. Louis Blues: Andre Mondoux, D, Kingston Frontenacs (OHL)
- Andre Mondoux was the Kingston Frontenacs eleventh round pick in thr 2023 OHL Draft. Now he's got a chance to get drafted in the seventh round.
- Andre Mondoux has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Andre Mondoux could be a number seven defenseman on an NHL team or a number one defenseman on an AHL team.
- The 6-4 198 lb Andre Mondoux had 6 goals, 12 assists, 18 points, 70 shots on goal, and a +19 +/- ratio in 66 OHL games with the Kingston Frontenacs in 2025-2026. Andre Mondoux had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 4 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs.
Seattle Kraken: Jackson Marthaler, D, USNTDP (USHL)
- Seattle gets a defenseman to stash and develop. Jackson Marthaler could develop into a quality number seven defenseman for depth on a NHL team, but I think he's more likely an AHL guy like a lot of the defensemen left on the board in the seventh round.
- Jackson Marthaler has the skating, playmaking, passing, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Jackson Marthaler needs to develop his wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot power when he goes to Minnesota Duluth in 2027. He's returning to the USNTDP for one more season next year.
- The 6-2 198 lb Jackson Marthaler had 0 goals, 4 assists, and 4 points in 25 USHL games in 2025-2026. Jackson Marthaler also had 0 goals, 4 assists, and 4 points in 54 games with the USNTDP Under 18 Team in 2025-2026.
New York Islanders: Adam Levac, C, Peterborough Petes (OHL)
- New York drafts a center that can develop into a fourth line center in the NHL. Adam Levac could be a player that meets that critera late in the seventh round.
- Adam Levac has the skating, playmaking, passing, sniping, shooting, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Adam Levac finally showed some offensive promise, but he has to fix his defesive awareness if he wants to be anything more than an AHL player.
- The 6-0 172 lb Adam Levac had 16 goals, 28 assists, 44 points, 126 shots on goal, 3 power play goals, 1 game-winning goal, and 1 short-handed goal in 2025-2026. Adam Levac had 2 goals, 2 assists, 4 points, and a +2 +/- ratio in 6 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs showing some improvement in his defesnive awareness during the OHL Playoffs. As long as that continues into next season he has a shot to be a fourth line center on an NHl team.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Caden Harvey, RW, Windsor Spitfires (OHL)
- Columbus gets a right winger to stash and develop as Caden Harvey has the ceiling to develop into a fourth line right winger on an NHL team. Caden Harvey went from a native of Beaver, Pennsylvania to a fifth round pick in the 2025 OHL Draft that is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
- Caden Harvey has the skating, playmaking, passing, sniping, shooting, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Caden Harvey could be a fourth line right winger down the road.
- The 6-1 185 lb Caden Harvey had 11 goals, 23 assists, 34 points, 107 shots on goal, a +26 +/- ratio, 10 penalty minutes, and 3 game-winning goals in all 68 OHL games with the Windsor Spitfires in 2025-2026. Caden Harvey had 3 goals, 3 assists, 6 points, 19 shots o goal, a +2 +/- ratio, and 2 penalty minutes in 13 games in the 2026 OHL Playoffs.
Detroit Red Wings: Danai Shaiikov, G, Gatineau Olympiques (QMJHL)
- Detroit is pretty stacked at goalie, even more stacked than San Jose. Detroit Red Wings Sebastian Cossa drafted fourteenth overall in 2021 has had three strong seasons in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Michal Postava an undrafted goalie that played for HC Kometa Brno in Extraliga in the Czech Republic dominated down the stretch for the Grand Rapids Griffins, so Cossa will have competition for the backup goalie job on Detroit if Cam Talbot leaves with the loser of that competiton being the Grand Rapids Griffins starting goalie in the AHL. Detroit Red Wings 2023 second round pick Trey Augstine will be the backup goalie on the Grand Rapids Griffins next season. I heard Detroit was the team that had forty goalies in their top 300. If that is true, then Steve Yzerman will get his next goalie for the Detroit Red Wings prospect pool with this seventh round pick. Danai Shaiikov, a goalie from Kazakhstan is the best goale on the board and was the Gatineau Olympiques 2025 second round pick in the 2025 CHL Import Draft.
- The 6-2 186 lb Danai Shaiikov had a 2.78 goals against average, .903 save percentage, and 3 shutouts posting a 18-28 record in 46 starts playing 50 games with the Gatineau Olympiques in the QMJHL in 2025-2026. Danai Shaiikov went 3-4 with a 2.86 goals against average and a .897 save percentage in 7 games during the 2026 QMJHL Playoffs.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Danai Shaiikov is the fourth goalie to check off every box joining Tobias Trejbal, Brady Knowling, and Patriks Plumins as the only goalies to check off all ten boxes as Danai Shaiikov played for Avangard Omsk's MHL team in Russia before the Kazakhstan native got drafted by the Gatineau Olympiques in the 2025 CHL Import Draft making Danai Shaiikov the fourth goalie out of twenty four goalies in this mock draft to check every box.
Washington Capitals: Brady Murnane, D, Oshawwa Generals (OHL)
- Washington drafts another defenseman to stash and develop. Brady Murnane could be a guy to keep an eye on.
- Brady Murnane has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Brady Murnane could be a number seven defenseman on an NHL team if he fixes his defensive awareness or a number one defenseman on an AHL team if he doesn't.
- The 6-3 196 lb Brady Murnane had 1 goal, 6 assists, 7 points, and 31 shots on goal in 55 OHL games with the Oshawa Generals in 2025-2026. Brady Murnane will probably return to Oshawa for one more season as he hasn't decided if he's going to play college hockey after his OHL time is up.
Los Angeles Kings: Alexandre Taillefer, D, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)
- Alexandre Taillefer was the Quebec Remparts 2024 seventh round pick six rounds after drafting Maddox Dagenais first overall. Alexandre Taillefer feels like a defensive defenseman versus a two-way defenseman.
- Alexandre Taillefer has the speed, burst, foot speed, skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Alexandre Taillefer feels closer to a number seven defenseman on an NHL team than an AHL player even though there is a very limited cample size.
- The 6-0 162 lb Alexandre Taillefer had 3 goals, 4 assists, and 7 points with the Quebec Remparts in 40 QMJHL games in 2024-2025. Alexandre Taillefer had 2 goals, 15 assists, 17 points, and a +6 +/- ratio in 28 QMJHL games with the Quebec Remparts in 2025-2026.
Anaheim Ducks: Harris Pangretitsch, D, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL)
- Harris Pangretitsch was the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds fourth round pick in the 2024 OHL Draft. He has enough upside to develop into a number seven defenseman on an NHL roster or a number one defenseman on an AHL team.
- Harris Pangretitsch has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Harris Pangretitsch feels closer to a number seven defenseman on an NHL team than an AHL player even though there is a very limited sample size.
- The 6-4 216 lb Harris Pangretitsch had 2 goals, 12 assists, 14 points, 68 shots on goal a +20 +/- ratio, and 1 game-winning goal in 67 OHL games with the Sualt Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL in 2025-2026. Harris Pangretitsch had 0 goals, 1 assist, and 1 point in 10 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs.
Utah Mammoth: Cameron Chartrand, D, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)
- Cameron Chartrand missed most of his rookie season. He did play this year though and was drafted by the Saint John Sea Dogs with the ninteenth overall pick in the first round of the 2024 QMJHL Draft.
- Cameron Chartrand has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Cameron Chartrand feels closer to a number seven defenseman on an NHL team than an AHL player even though there is a very limited sample size. He needs to fix his defensive awareness if he wants to make it on an NHL roster.
- The 6-1 201 lb Cameron Chartrand had 2 goals, 5 assists, 7 points, and 39 shots on goal in 35 QMJHL games with the Saint John Sea Dogs in 2025-2026. Cameron Chartrand had 0 goals, 1 assist, and 1 point in 4 games during the 2026 QMJHL Playoffs.
Edmonton Oilers: Eelis Uronen, D, Helsingfors IFK (SM Liiga)
- Edmonton drafts a defensive defenseman that can be a number seven NHl defenseman as a reserve scratch. This guy can also be a first line defenseman on an AHL team.
- Eelis Uronen has the skating, playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defesive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Eelis Uronen does a good job defending and checking. He needs to develop his wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot accuracy.
- The 6-1 201 lb Eelis Uronen had 2 goals, 4 assists, 6 points, and a +8 +/- ratio onn the Helsingfors IFK Under 20 Team in 2025-2026. Eelis Uronen had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 2 games with Helsingfors IFK in Liiga.
Philadelphia Flyers: Xavier Wendt, G, Tri-City Americans (WHL)
- Philadelphia drafts a goalie to stash and develop in the late rounds. Xavier Wendt is the top goalie available.
- Xavier was able to pot a goal this season with 1 minute left in the 3rd to become the 11th goalie to score a goal in the WHL. This 18 year old from Plymouth, MN stands at 6’ and weighs 179 pounds and catches left. Playing in 43 games with a 3.25 GAA and .905 sv% and 1 SO was 18-20-3 during a tough season for the Tri-City Americans in 2025.
- Xavier is a Shattuck Alumni and that speaks volumes in my book. He showed elite glove hand and is a good puck handler. He is more of a hybrid goalie and uses the butterfly very well. He tracks the puck and is able to read plays in front of him. He is very mobile in the net and could work on his screen work and be more aggressive and come out of the net instead of sagging back deep into the net. He would do great with some AHL work for sure, but could be a good goalie for sure.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Xavier Wendt checked off 7/10 boxes and needs to improve his quickness, footwork, and puckhandling.
Colorado Avalanche: Ivan Patrikhayev, D, CSKA Moscow (KHL)
- Colorado drafts a defenseman that can be a number seven defenseman on an NHL team or a number one defenseman on an AHL team. Ivan Patrikhayev is one of the best defenders from Russia in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- Ivan Patrikhayev has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Ivan Patrikhayev has enough stamina to play 21 minutes of ice time based on what I've seen from him on CSKA Moscow in Russia in the KHL.
- The 6-0 185 lb Ivan Patrikhayev had 3 goals, 10 assists, 13 points, and a +8 +/- ratio in 66 KHL games with CSKA Moscow in 2025-2026. Ivan Patrkhayev had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 10 games during the 2026 KHL Playoffs. Pavel Martinu is going to New Hampshire in 2027.
Colorado Avalanche: Nikita Ovcharov, LW, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)
- Nikita Ovcharov was drafed by the Quebec Remparts with their 2025 first round pick in the 2025 CHL Import Draft. He played in Russia prior to being picked by the Quebec Remparts.
- Nikita Ovcharov has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Nikita Ovcharov could develop into a fourth line left winger on an NHL team.

Florida Panthers: Bode Laylin, D, Tri-City Storm (USHL)
- Florida gets a defenseman that they can stash and develop with a seventh round pick. Bode Laylin could be a number seven defenseman on an NHL team, but he could also be an AHL defenseman.
- Bode Laylin has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Bode Laylin could get to the NHL as a bottom pairing defenseman on a third line if he fixes his defensive awareness. Right now he will continue to develop with the Tri-City Storm, the Everett Silvertips next season, and will possibly enroll in college in 2027.
- The 6-0 185 lb Bode Laylin had 11 goals, 27 assists, and 38 points in 2025-2026. Bode Laylin had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 points in 2 games during the 2026 USHL Playoffs.
Tampa Bay Lightning: Colin Feeley, D, Oshawa Generals (OHL)
- Tampa Bay drafts a defenseman to stash and develop. Colin Feeley feels like an AHL defenseman more than a number seven defenseman for depth.
- Colin Feeley has the skating, passing, and offensve awaress. His shooting, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ is a major project.
- The 6-7 190 lb Colin Feeney had 0 goals, 8 assists, and 8 points in 55 OHL games in 2025-2026. Colin Feeney will return to the Oshawa Generals next season before enrolling at Harvard in 2027.
Dallas Stars: Cameron Allard, D, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)
- Cameron Allard has the floor of a number seven defenseman on an NHL team or a number one defenseman on an AHL team. His ceiling is a number five defenseman anchoring the third line of an NHL team. That projects Cameron Allard as a number six defenseman. Cameron Allard was the Brandon Wheat Kings eighth round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
- Cameron Allard has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Cameron Allard showed enough on tape to convince me he can make the NHL as a bottom pairing defensive defenseman on a third line.
- The 6-3 196 lb Cameron Allard had 0 goals, 2 assists, 2 points, 9 shots on goal, 2 penalty minutes, and a +1 +/- ratio in 13 WHL games with the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2024-2025. Cameron Allard had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 3 games in the 2025 WHL Playoffs. Cameron Allard had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 4 games in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
- Cameron Allard should be a bottom pairing defender on an NHL team by 2030 if that team remains patient with him. He could end up in the AHL though if he continues to struggle in the WHL playoffs too.
Winnipeg Jets: Riley Steen, D, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL)
- Winnipeg drafts another Medicine Hat defender in Riley Steen. He's only played in 74 regular season games in the WHL over the past two years with this past season being his first full season after being the Medicine Hat Tigers 2023 sixth round pick.
- Riley Steen has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Riley Steen showed enough on tape to convince me he can make the NHL as a bottom pairing defensive defenseman on a third line.
- The 6-2 188 lb Riley Steen had 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, 8 shots on goal, 6 penalty minutes, and a +1 +/- ratio in 17 WHL games with the Medicine Hat Tigers in 2024-2025. Riley Steen had 2 goals, 10 assists, 12 points, 46 shots on goal, a +22 +/- ratio, 49 penalty minutes, and 1 game-winning goal in 2025-2026. Riley Steen had 0 goals, 1 assist, and 1 point in 10 games in the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
Montreal Canadiens: Jacob Xu, D, London Knights (OHL)
- Montrela drafts a defenseman here. Jacob Xu is a player that could end up on an AHL team.
- Jacob Xu has the skating, playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Jacob Xu has to improve his shot if he wants to crack the NHL as a bottom pairing defenseman. Right now he projects as an AHL defenseman.
- The 6-2 195 lb Jacob Xu had 1 goal, 13 assists, 14 points, a +4 +/- ratio, 70 shots on goal, and 40 penalty minutes and 2025-2026. Jacob Xu had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 5 games during the 2026 WHL Playoffs.
Colorado Avalanche: Ondrej Stebetak, G, Portland Winterhawks (WHL)
- Ondrej Stebetak was my number two goalie behind Joshua Ravensbergen in the Summer of 2024 when I made my very first 2025 NHL Mock Draft. He went undrafted last year, but still has enough talent to be a late round pick. In Colorado with guys like Ilya Nabakov and Maggnus Chrona on Colorado's AHL team, you are looking at Ondrej Stebetak going to the ECHL for further development if Scott Wedgewood gets extended after his contract is up. Ondrej Stebetak only checked 6/10 boxes for me, but I'm gonna post the writeup Ron Mont sent me of Stebetak.
- Ondrej, and 18 year old from Czechia, stands at 6'1 and 165 pound left catching Netmindert. Playing for the Portland WInterhawks in the WHL he was able to play in 48 games with a 3.40 GAA and .897 sv% and 1 SO. He was 23-19-6 during the regular season and played in 4 playoff games and went 0-4-0 and posted a 5.79 GAA and a .882sv%. Ondrej was able to get a Silver in the Hilinka Grettzky Cup and a Silver at WJC with team Czechia.
- As with all goalies they take a little longer to develop and Ondrej is no exception to that rule. He is one of the better goalies in this draft class. He has good anticipation and tracks the puck very well and seals off his posts. He is square to the shooter and is able to make those “tough” saves with a breakaway and does well in the shoot-outs! Look for a team to take this player and then see what he can do in the AHL for a minute.
Vegas Golden Knights: Cole Tuminaro, D, Chicago Steel (USHL)
- Vegas gets a defender to stash and develop. Cole Tuminaro is a big body defenseman heading to Cornell this Fall.
- Cole Tuminaro has the skating, playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defensive awareess, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Cole Tuminaro may have been the meanest defenseman in the USHL this past season.
- The 6-4 225 lb Cole Tuminaro had 5 goals, 11 assists, 16 points, and a mind boggling 148 penalty minutes putting him up there with fictional hockey players like Happy Gilmore and Goon for penalty minutes in 54 USHL games with the Chicago Steel in 2025-2206. He's going to Cornell this Fall.
Montreal Canadiens: Daniel Walters, C, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)
- Montreal grabs one more center to stash and develop with their final draft pick. Daniel Walters was the Halifax Mooseheads first round pick in the 2024 QMJHL Draft.
- Daniel Walters has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Daniel Walters looks like a legit dark horse and is the ninty seventh and player with first line experience or potential in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- The 6-0 191 lb Daniel Walters had 3 goals, 8 assists, 11 points, and 42 shots on goal in 63 QMJHL games with the Halifax Mooseheads in 2024-2025. Daniel Walters had 0 goals, 1 assist, and 1 point in 11 games during the 2025 QMJHL Playoffs. Daniel Walters had 15 goals, 15 assists, 30 points, 110 penalty minutes, 88 shots on goal, and 4 power play goals in 63 QMJHL games with the Halifax Mooseheads in 2025-2026. Daniel Walters had 1 goal, 0 assists, and 1 point in 4 games during the 2026 QMJHL Playoffs.
