Both Max Scherzer and Zack Greinke did a phenomenal job as starting pitchers in game 7 of the 2019 World Series. Yuli Gurriel scored the only two runs for the Houston Astros in game 7 of the 2019 World Series.
Gurriel's first run came in the bottom of the second inning when he blasted a home run to give the Houston Astros a 1-0 lead. Carlos Correa hit an RBI that sent Gurriel home in the bottom of the fifth inning. Scherzer only gave up those two runs in the five innings he pitched.
Anthony Rendon hit a home run off of Zack Greinke in the top of the seventh inning with one out. Zack Greinke got pulled after this.
Houston's bullpen gave up five more runs. Howie Kendrick put Washington ahead 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning with a two run home run. Washington rallied in Houston like they did in all four games of this World Series. This was also the first World Series where the road team won all 7 games.
The Washington Nationals won game 7 of the 2019 World Series 6-2 with Stephen Strasburg winning MVP honors for his pitching performances in game 2 and game 6 of the 2019 World Series.
