Tampa Bay Lightning Forwards Review: Steven Stamkos played like his old self with 72 points in 82 games after dealing with injuries the past two seasons. Line 2 right winger Andrej Palat and line 3 right winger Nikita Kucherov moved up to the top line and had career seasons next to Stamkos. Tampa Bay has 3 forwards on their top line with 59 points forming a potent line 1.

Tyler Johnson had 50 points as a line 3 center, but he ended up getting 72 points as a line 2 center. Valtterti Filppula was awesome as a line 2 center, but he did much worse as a line 2 left winger.

Jonathan Drouin and Alex Killorn will be wingers on the third line. Brian Boyle is getting promoted from the fourth line to the third line. Line 4 wingers Cedric Paquette and Erik Condra are good enough to play on the third line. Vladimir Namestnikov, the 2011 NHL Draft pick for the Tampa Bay Lightning is their line 4 center.

In 2014-2015, the Tampa Bay Lightning ranked 1st in goals scored and 14th on the power play. I think the Lightning will be a top 10 team in goals scored and a top 20 team on the power play. We will see what happens this season. Tampa Bay cannot get soft when it comes to scoring goals if they expect to repeat as Eastern Conference Champions.

Tampa Bay Lightning Defensemen Review Tampa Bay has a ton of big physical defensemen that know how to stop a power play by penalty killing. The Lightning ranked 21st in goals allowed and 7th in penalty killing. This defense should get Tampa Bay to another playoff appearance.

Tampa Bay Lightning Goaltender Review The Lightning have a top 10 goalie as a starter in Ben Bishop. Andre Vasilevskiy is one of the leagues better backups. Tampa Bay has a great goalie situation and that is why the Lightning have a shot to contend.

Tampa Bay Lightning Prospect Pool: Tampa Bay has 2014 first round pick Anthony DeAngelo in their system. DeAngelo is one of two defensemen on the Lightning that may have a future in Tampa Bay. Slater Koekkoek a 2012 first round pick is on the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL. Koekkoek is the top prospect on the Lightning at this point.

Tampa Bay Lightning 2015-2016 Prediction

Tampa Bay returns to the Eastern Conference Finals. I got the Lightning losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 6 games. If the Lightning win the Eastern Conference, then they will beat the Anaheim Ducks in the Stanley Cup. I got Pittsburgh over Anaheim though at this point.
