Washington Capitals Take Series Lead In 2018 Stanley Cup Finals

Washington outshot Vegas 7-5 in the first period. Neither team scored in the first period though.

Alex Ovechkin scored the first goal of this game early in the second period to give Washington a 1-0 lead with Evgeny Kuznetsov providing the assist. Then Kuznetsov scored to make it 2-0. Washington outshot Vegas 14-8 in the second period. Washington had a 21-13 shots on goal advantage through two periods of play.

Tomas Nosek the hero of game 1 for the Vegas Golden Knights made it a 1 goal game. Jay Beagle got his second assist of the night for the Capitals when he passed the puck to make it 3-1. Vegas outshot Washington 9-4 in the third period, but that didn't seem to matter with the Capitals taking game 3 3-1.

Game 4 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals will be on Monday at 8 PM EST on NBC. Vegas really needs to win on Monday to avoid a 3-1 deficit.
