Chicago Blackhawks Forwards Review: Chicago appears to be pretty deep on offense. Chicago has new guys at left wing. Arteri Panarin posted 62 points on SKA Saint Petersburg in the KHL last season at left wing before joining the Blackhawks in 2015. The uncertainty over who starts at left wing is why I am selling the Blackhawks chances of repeating. We don't know whether Hossa or Kane will play next to Toews on the top line. Sometimes Chicago puts Kane on the second line even though he's better than Hossa.

The Blackhawks' ranked 18th in goals scored and 20th on the power play in 2014-2015. Despite this, the Blackhawks still ended up winning the Stanley Cup. With Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad gone, those numbers could drop even more on offense which is one of my biggest concerns.

Chicago Blackhawks Defensemen Review: Chicago was able to win the Stanley Cup with outstanding goaltending and two premium defensemen. Chicago put Keith and Seabrook on separate lines to make things easier.

Line 2 is much better than last year. Trevor Daley struggled on line 1. Daley will do much better on the second line. Niklas Hjalmarsson showed he could be a quality #4 defenseman on the second line. Chicago still needs a third line of defense, but I feel pretty good about these first two defensive lines.

Chicago ranked 2nd in goals allowed and 10th in penalty killing. Those numbers should drop next season, but if those stats remain true on defense, then the Blackhawks have an outside chance of going to a fourth consecutive Western Conference Finals game.

Chicago Blackhawks Goaltender Review: Corey Crawford is a beast behind the net. Crawford struggled during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Scott Darling did an awesome job as Crawford's backup before Crawford started behind the pipes again.

Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Pool: Chicago still has 2011 first round pick Marcus McNeill in the AHL as a center on the Rockford IceHogs. The Blackhawks also drafted Graham Knott a left winger from the Niagara IceDogs with a second round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Chicago Blackhawks 2015-2016 Prediction

Chicago lost a lot of talent. I'm not sure the Blackhawks will return to the playoffs in 2016. I think the Blackhawks surprise a lot of people by missing the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs before returning to the playoffs in 2017.
