Tony Mario's 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds

Round 5

Tony Mario follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: April 24, 2025.

  1. Minnesota Vikings: Tommi Hill, CB, Nebraska

The Minnesota Vikings are gonna keep Byron Murphy Jr. an Mekhi Becton as their top two cornerbacks. Isaiah Rodgers and Jeffrey Okudah should compete for the nickel cornerback job. Tommi Hill is basically a number five cornerback in this scenario.

    Other Minnesota Vikings Selections

  2. Carolina Panthers: Jeffrey Bassa, 3-4 MLB, Oregon

Carolina gets a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth behind Josey Jewell and Trevin Wallace. Jeffrey Bassa is a nice depth piece in the fifth round.

    Other Carolina Panthers Selections

  3. Tennessee Titans: Oronde Gadsden II, TE, Syracuse

Tennessee currently has Chigoziem Okonkwo as their starting tight end and Josh Whyle as the backup tight end with Okonkwo entering the final year of his rookie deal. Syracuse tight end Oronde Gadsden II could start out as a third string tight end, but he could also end up becoming Cam Ward's starting tight end by the end of Cam Ward's rookie season too.

    Other Tennessee Titans Selections

  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jake Briningstool, TE, Clemson

Some believe Jake Briningstool is the worst tight end in the 2025 NFL Draft. Others said the same thing about Brenton Strange two years ago before the Jaguars spent a day 2 pick on Strange in the 2023 NFL Draft. Tight end could still be a problem for Jacksonville since their track record with tight ends that were drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars is not great.

    Other Jacksonville Jaguars Selections

  5. Las Vegas Raiders: Sebastian Castro, FS, Iowa

Las Vegas gets a starting free safety in the fifth round. Sebastian Castro was seen as a day 2 pick before the 2025 NFL Combine. Sebastian Castro would compliment Free Agent Jeremy Chinn quite well at strong safety.

    Other Las Vegas Raiders Selections

  6. New England Patriots: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State

Joshua Dobbs is just a stop gap as the backup to Drake Maye. Will Howard has potential to be a starter on the right team. His arm isn't as strong as Drake Maye's, but this is a perfect opportunity for Will Howard to develop as a backup quarterback.

    Other New England Patriots Selections

  7. New York Jets: Jack Kiser, MLB, Notre Dame

The New York Jets get a middle linebacker for depth. Jamien Sherwood will play middle linebacker and Quincy Williams plays right outside linebacker in a 4-2-5 nickel defense. Jack Kiser can play 4-3 middle linebacker situationally with Quincy Williams and Jamien Sherwood as the outside linebacker when Aaron Glenn deploys personnel for a 4-3 defense. If Glenn runs the 4-2-5 like Detroit did, Kiser will most likely begin as a backup even if his ceiling is higher than Jamien Sherwood down the road.

    Other New York Jets Selections

  8. Carolina Panthers: Craig Woodson, FS, California

Carolina drafts a free safety that can start next to Tre'von Moehrig. Craig Woodson is one of the better gems at safety in the 2025 NFL Draft.

    Other Carolina Panthers Selections

  9. San Francisco 49ers: Jordan Phillips, DT, Maryland

San Francisco owns the Saints fifth round pick, but lost their pick for tampering. San Francisco is gonna need multiple defensive tackles with Jordan Elliott and Evan Anderson who went undrafted after playing college at Florida Atlantic starting. Jordan Phillips may project as a backup on most teams, but if San Francisco drafts Jordan Phillips he will be a day 1 starter.

    Other San Francisco 49ers Selections

  10. Chicago Bears: Pat Bryant, WR, Illinois

Chicago might be able to get a slot receiver to pair with D.J. Moore and Rome Oduzne at this point in the fifth round. Pat Bryant is a local player that the Chicago Bears will have more intel on than any other NFL team. If the Bears wait until the fifth round to draft a wide receiver there's a chance Pat Bryant ends up as Chicago's slot receiver in week 1.

    Other Chicago Bears Selections

  11. Dallas Cowboys: Ollie Gordon IV, RB, Oklahoma State

Dallas drafts a running back. Ollie Gordon IV could end up being the starting running back for the Dallas Cowboys since the Dallas Cowboys do not have a number one running back at the moment.

    Other Dallas Cowboys Selections

  12. Miami Dolphins: Jackson Hawes, TE, Georgia Tech

Miami needs a tight end that will complimentJonnu Smith as a backup tight end. One player Miami could consider here is Georgia Tech tight end Jackson Hawes.

    Other Miami Dolphins Selections

  13. Indianapolis Colts: Caleb Ranstraw, SS, Tulane

Indianapolis drafts a defensive back for depth. Caleb Ranstraw can play cornerback, strong safety, or free safety with his versatility.

    Other Indianapolis Colts Selections

  14. Arizona Cardinals: Maxen Hook, SS, Toledo

Arizona grabs a safety for depth behind Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson. There's a chance Maxen Hook might be able to take over for Jalen Thompson when Thompson becomes a UFA in 2026.

    Other Arizona Cardinals Selections

  15. Cincinnati Bengals: Charles Grant, LT, William & Mary

Cincinnati drafts a swing tackle for depth behind Orlando Brown Jr. and Armarius Mims. Charles Grant would be a great addition at swing tackle and has potential to develop into an above average starter.

    Other Cincinnati Bengals Selections

  16. New York Giants: Mello Dotson, CB, Kansas

New York drafts a cornerback for depth. Right now, Paulson Adebo, Deonte Banks, and last years nickel cornerback Dru Phillips enter next year as the three projected starting cornerbacks on the New York Giants.

    Other New York Giants Selections

  17. Miami Dolphins: Alijah Huzzie, CB, North Carolina

Miami drafts a cornerback. Miami needs a number two cornerback next to Jalen Ramsey.

    Other Miami Dolphins Selections

  18. Pittsburgh Steelers: Barryn Sorrell, 3-4 LOLB, Texas

Pittsburgh has Alex Highsmth at 3-4 right outside linebacker, T.J. Watt at 3-4 left outside linebacker, and Nick Herbig as a situational pass rusher that can play either 3-4 right outside linebacker when Highsmith is injured or 3-4 left outside linebacker when T.J. Watt is injured. Barryn Sorrell simply gives Pittsburgh a fourth pass rusher.

    Other Pittsburgh Steelers Selections

  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ricky White III, WR, UNLV

Tampa Bay is loaded at wide receiver with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan back. The problem is Trey Palmer may get demoted to third string and Mike Evans is a 2026 UFA. Tampa Bay may end up drafting someone like UNLV wide receiver Ricky White III if the value is there.

    Other Tampa Bay Buccaneers Selections

  20. Los Angeles Chargers: DJ Giddens, RB, Kansas State

The Los Angeles Chargers get a running back for depth behind Najee Harris. DJ Giddens would compete with Kimani Vidal for the third string running back job.

    Other Los Angeles Chargers Selections

  21. Green Bay Packers: Devi Neal, RB, Kansas

Green Bay drafts a running back for depth. Devin Neal is a really good value pick at this point in the fifth round.

    Other Green Bay Packers Selections

  22. San Francisco 49ers: Mac McWilliams, CB, Central Florida

San Francisco drafts another defensive back for depth. Mac McWilliams can play cornerback, strong safety, or free safety with his versatility.

    Other San Francisco 49ers Selections

  23. Philadelphia Eagles: JJ Pegues, 3-4 LE, Ole Miss

Philadelphia gets a 3-4 left end to replace Milton Williams. JJ Pegues is a good value pick in the fifth round.

    Other Philadelphia Eagles Selections

  24. New York Jets: Jabbar Muhammad, CB, Oregon

New York gets a cornerback that compliments Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner well. Jabbarr Muhammad could end up being a godo number two cornerback in New York.

    Other New York Jets Selections

  25. Carolina Panthers: Drew Kendall, C, Boston College

Carolina brings in competiton for Austin Corbett and Cade Mays at center. Boston College center Drew Kendall is the son of Pete Kendall. He might end up being Carolina's starting center at some point. Carolina has Ikem Ekwonu at left tackle, Damien Lewis at left guard, Austin Corbett at center, Robert Hunt at right guard, and Taylor Moton at right tackle.

    Other Carolina Panthers Selections

  26. Philadelphia Eagles: Nick Nash, WR, San Jose State

The Philadelphia Eagles draft a wide receiver to stash. Philadelphia will have A.J. Brown as the number one receiver with DeVonta Smith as the number two receiver. Slot receiver Jahan Dotson enters a contract year. San Jose State wide receiver Nick Nash won the triple crown in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in College Football. Nick Nash would probably be Philadelphia's slot receiver in 2026 as I believe he can beat out both Johnny Wilson and Ainis Smith for the number four wide receiver job as the main backup who would enter Philadelphia's starting lineup if an injury occurs.

    Other Philadelphia Eagles Selections

  27. Philaelphia Eagles: Upton Stout, CB, Western Kentucky

Philadelphia gets a defensive back for depth. Upton Stout has the versatility to play cornerback, strong safety, or free safety. Upton Stout can provide depth in all three of those roles for the team that drafts him.

    Other Philadelphia Eagles Selections

  28. Houston Texans: Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame

Houston has Dalton Schultz locked up at tight end and Cade Stover on a rookie contract. Houston drafts Mitchell Evans as a replacement to Brevin Jordan who will be a UFA in 2026.

    Other Houston Texans Selections

  29. Tennessee Titans: CJ West, NT, Indiana

Tennessee drafts a nose tackle for depth behind T'Vondre Sweat. CJ West would be a nice backup nose tackle behind T'Vondre Sweat.

    Other Tennessee Titans Selections

  30. Philadelphia Eagles: Hollin Pierce, RT, Rutgers

Philadelphia drafts a right tackle for depth. Hollin Pierce would be a nice backup right tackle to Lane Johnson.

    Other Philadelphia Eagles Selections

  31. Buffalo Bills: Jalen Rivers, LG, Miami FL

The Buffalo Bills use this fifth round compensation pick to get a left guard for depth. Jalen Rivers has the versatility to play left tackle, left guard, right guard, and right tackle.

    Other Buffalo Bills Selections

  32. Buffalo Bills: Ahmed Hassanein, RE, Boise State

The Buffalo Bills use this fifth round compensation pick to get another pass rusher for depth. Ahmed Hassanein will be the third string 4-3 right end.

    Other Buffalo Bills Selections

  33. New England Patriots: Antwane Wells Jr., WR, Ole Miss

New England uses this fifth round compensation pick in the Joe Milton trade to get another weapon for Drake Maye. Antwane Wells Jr. would be a nice addition for New England.

    Other New England Patriots Selections

  34. Seattle Seahawks: Carson Vinson, LT, Alabama A&M

The Seattle Seahawks use this fifth round pick on a swing tackle to replace Stone Forsyth. Carson Vinson is the best offensive tackle available.

    Other Seattle Seahawks Selections

  35. Buffalo Bills: Kitan Crawford, FS, Nevada

The Buffalo Bills get a free safety for depth that will eventually be a backup to Cole Bishop. Kitan Crawford is a nice addition at free safety if you are looking for a backup.

    Other Buffalo Bills Selections

  36. Dallas Cowboys: Jamon Dumas-Johnson, MLB, Kentucky

The Dallas Cowboys use this fifth round compensation pick on a third string 4-3 middle linebacker. Jamon Dumas-Johnson can start out as a third string middle linebacker behind Marist Liufau and Kenneth Murray who will be the backup 4-3 middle linebacker. Dallas also has DeMarvion Overshown at 4-3 right outside linebacker and Jack Sanborn as the backup 4-3 right outside linebacker with Damone Clark as the third string 4-3 right outside linebacker. This means Jamon Dumas-Johnson would be the third string 4-3 middle linebacker.

    Other Dallas Cowboys Selections

  37. Seattle Seahawks: Kobe Hudson, WR, Central Florida

The Seattle Seahawks use this fifth round compensation pick on a wide receiver for depth. Central Florida wide receiver Kobe Hudson does have the ceiling to beat out slot receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling for playing time.

    Other Seattle Seahawks Selections

  38. Baltimore Ravens: Kaden Prather, WR, Maryland

The Baltimore Ravens use this fifth round pick on a wide receiver for depth. Baltimore has Zay Flowers as their number one wide receiver, Rashod Bateman is their number two wide receiver, and DeAndre Hopkins is the slot receiver. Both Rashod Bateman and DeAndre Hopkins are UFA's in 2026. Maryland wide receiver Kaden Prather is a hometown guy and maybe Baltimore believes they can mold a wide receiver that many view as a backup into a potential starter down the road.

    Other Baltimore Ravens Selections
