2025 NFL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds
Round 7
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: April 24, 2025.
Dallas Cowboys: Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
- Dallas drafts another quarterback to push Joe Milton III for the backup job. I had a backup grade 83/99 potential when Joe Milton III was drafted. There's not a quarterback with starter potential left in the draft with my only draftable quarterback being Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough. Most mock drafts are much higher on Tyler Shough than I am.
- The 6-5 224 lb Tyler Shough had 3,195 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, 19 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 3,214 total yards, 24 total touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in 2024. Tyler Shough competes with Joe Milton III for the backup quarterback job with the loser of that competitoin being the Dallas Cowboys third string quarterback.
- Other Dallas Cowboys Selections
Atlanta Falcons: Teddye Buchanan, 3-4 MLB, California
- The Atlanta Falcons get a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth. Teddye Buchanan is the best player available on my board in the seventh round.
- The 6-2 233 lb Teddye Buchanan had 45 solo tackles, 69 assisted tackles, 114 total tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 7 quarterback hurries, and 5 sacks, 4 deflections from pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles in 2024. Atlanta drafts Teddye Buchanan as a backup at 3-4 middle linebacker in the seventh round.
- Other Atlanta Falcons Selections
New York Giants: Tommi Hill, CB, Nebraska
- New York gets a cornerback for depth in the seventh round. Nebraska cornerback Tommi Hill is my best cornerback on the board.
- The 6-0 213 lb Tommi Hill had 10 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles, 1 deflection from a pass breakup, 1 interception, and 1 defensive touchdown on a pick 6 in 2024. Tommi Hill wasn't targeted frequently as Nebraska's number one cornerback, but New York can grab him for depth in the seventh round.
- Other New York Giants Selections
New England Patriots: Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee
- New England drafts a third string running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Tennessee Volunteers running back Dylan Sampson might warrant a flyer in the seventh round.
- The 5-8 200 lb Dylan Sampson took over for Jaylen Wright as the starting running back in 2024. Dylan Sampson had 258 carries, 1,491 rushing yards, 22 rushing touchdowns, 20 receptions, 143 receiving yards, 0 receiving touchdowns, 278 touches, 1,634 total yards, and 22 total touchdowns in 2024.
- Other New England Patriots Selections
Jacksonville Jaguars: Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech
- Jacksonville drafts one more running back for depth. I mocked Ashton Jeanty to challenge Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby at 5, but one more running back for depth will be needed.
- The 5-8 211 lb Bhayshul Tuten had 183 carries, 1,159 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 22 receptions, 81 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, 205 touches, 1,260 total yards, and 24 total touchdowns in 2024. Bhayshul Tuten ran a 4.32 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
- Other Jacksonville Jaguars Selections
Las Vegas Raiders: Bru McCoy, WR, Tennessee
- Las Vegas drafts a fourth wide receiver. This is one team that could realistically end up with two rookies starting at wide receiver right out of the gate when you consider that Jakobi Meyers is their only good wide receiver. Tre Tucker is a serviceable number four target, but not the number two guy the Las Vegas Raiders think he is. The rest of the current wide receivers on this roster are undrafted Free Agents. I mocked Xavier Restrepo, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Tai Felton the Maryland wide receiver to the raiders. Those four undrafted wide receivers on the Las Vegas Raiders are worthless none of them were guys who stood out in college, so if mocking a fourth wide receiver keeps those undrafted guys from being on the final roster, then I will mock a fourth wide receiver to the Las Vegas Raiders.
- The 6-2 215 Bru McCoy had 39 receptions, 472 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns in 2024. Bru McCoy is the 11th different wide receiver that can run all 30 routes on the route tree. I have an 86/99 potential on Bru McCoy and he might beat out Tai Felton who I mocked at 215 and Tre Tucker for the number four receiver job.
- Other Las Vegas Raiders Selections
Seattle Seahawks: Jeffrey Bassa, 3-4 MLB, Oregon
- The Seattle Seahawks get a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth. Oregon 3-4 middle linebacker Jeffrey Bassa is an option in the seventh round.
- The 6-1 226 lb Jeffrey Bassa had 23 solo tackles, 31 assisted tackles, 54 total tackles, 3 quarterback hurries, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 2 deflections from pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks in 2024. Jeffrey Bassa feels like a 3-4 middle linebacker that Seattle would stash and develop.
- Other Seattle Seahawks Selections
Miami Dolphins: Gavin Bartholomew, TE, Pittsburgh
- Miami drafts a tight end for depth. Pittsburgh tight end Gavin Bartholomew is my top tight end on the board.
- The 6-4 241 lb Gavin Bartholomew had 38 receptions, 322 receiving yards, and 4 receiving toucdhowns in 2024. Gavin Bartholomew emerged as a playmaker on the Pittsburgh Panthers offense during his freshman sesaon in 2021 during Pittsburgh's ACC Title run when Kenny Pickett was there.
- Other Miami Dolphins Selections
Arizona Cardinals: Jake Briningstool, TE, Clemson
- The Arizona Cardinals have Trey McBride and last years rookie Tip Reimann as their third string tight end after he was a backup to Elijah Higgins last year. Drafting another tight end that will eventually replace Elijah Higgins makes a lot of sense in the seventh round.
- The 6-5 234 lb Jake Briningstool is the final tight end on my tight end rankings, so he will be the final tight end that gets drafted. Jake Briningstool had 49 receptions, 530 receiving yards, and 7 receiving touchdowns in 2024.
- Other Arizona Cardinals Selections
Kansas City Chiefs: Jordan Phillips, DT, Maryland
- Kansas City gets a defensive tackle for depth. Maryland defensive tackle Jordan Phillips makes a lot of sense in the seventh round.
- The 6-1 312 lb Jordan Phillips had 17 solo tackles, 12 assisted tackles, 2 quarterback hurries, and 1 tackle for a loss in 2024. Jordan Phillips would be a good replacement to Tershawn Wharton in Kansas City.
- Other Kansas City Chiefs Selections
San Francisco 49ers: Zakhari Franklin, WR, Illinois
- San Francisco gets another wide receiver in the seventh round. At one point I mocked Zakhari Franklin to Atlanta at 33 in my 2023 NFL Mock Draft when he was a sophomore redshirt at UTSA.
- The 6-1 190 lb Zakari Franklin had 81 receptions, 1,027 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns in 2021. Zakari Franklin had 93 receptions, 1,137 receiving yards, and 15 receiving touchdowns in 2022. He dominated at UTSA. He struggled at Ole Miss in 2023. He began to revert to his old form in 2024 with 55 receptions, 652 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns at Illinois in 2024. Zakari Franklin is the 12th different wide receiver that can run all 30 routes on the route tree.
- Other San Francisco 49ers Selections
Detroit Lions: Pat Bryant, WR, Illinois
- Detroit drafts another wide receiver for depth. Pat Bryant comes off the board here.
- The 6-2 208 lb Pat Bryant had 54 receptions, 984 receiving yards, and 10 receiviing touchdowns in 2024. Pat Bryant was the number one wide receiver on Illinois, but he doesn't have the route tree Zakari Franklin has.
- Other Detroit Lions Selections
Pittsburgh Steelers: Mello Dotson, CB, Kansas
- Pittsburgh drafts a cornerback for depth. The cornerback Pittsburgh drafts can push James Pierre for the sixth and final cornerback spot on the roster.
- The 6-0 192 lb Mello Dotson had 39 solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles, 49 total tackles, 7 deflections from pass breakups, 5 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns on pick sixes, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 forced fumlbe in 2024. Pittsburgh has five cornerback spots locked up, but if they draft a rookie, he could compete with James Pierre for the number six cornerback job in training camp.
- Other Pittsburgh Steelers Selections
Carolina Panthers: Kaden Prather, WR, Maryland
- Carolina adds a wide receiver for depth. Kaden Prather is the top wide receiver on the board in the seventh round.
- The 6-3 204 lb Kaden Prather has 55 receptions, 624 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns in 2024. Kaden Prather ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
- Other Carolina Panthers Selections
Miami Dolphins: Alijah Huzzie, CB, North Carolina
- Miami gets another cornerback for depth. Alijah Huzzie might warrant a flyer in the seventh round.
- The 5-10 193 lb Alijah Huzzie had 26 solo tackles, 14 assisted tackles, 40 total tackles, 8 deflections from pass breakups, 5.5 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 quarterback hurries, and 1 interception in 2024. Alijah Huzzie could end up as a quarter cornerback on the team that drafts him as a rookie, but I don't expect him to contribute much. He did return a punt for a touchdown, so he could be used as a return specialist on special teams.
- Other Miami Dolphins Selections
Indianapolis Colts: Maxen Hook, SS, Toledo
- Indianapolis has Nick Cross at strong safety, Camryn Bynum at free safety, Daniel Scott is the backup strong safety, and Rodney Thomas II is the backup free safety. Indianapolis gets one more safety for depth in the seventh round with both Nick Cross and Rodney Thomas II entering the final years of their rookie deals.
- The 5-9 193 lb Maxen Hook had 61 solo tackles, 46 assisted tackles, 107 total tackles, 4 deflections from pass breakups, 2 interceptions, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 forced fumble in 2024. Maxen Hook also has experience returning punts in addition to being a tackling machine. He's a guy with potential to develop into a starter as he had the highest potential rating of anyone on Toledo's roster with an 89/99 for potential.
- Other Indianapolis Colts Selections
Chicago Bears: Logan Brown, LT, Kansas
- Cincinnati drafts a left tackle for depth. Kansas left tackle Logan Brown would be a good backup to Orlando Brown Jr.
- The 6-6 312 lb Logan Brown played left tackle at Kansas. Logan Brown has experience at left tackle, left guard, right guard, and right tackle.
- Other Chicago Bears Selections
Seattle Seahawks: Willie Lampkin, C, North Carolina
- Seattle gets a center for depth. Willie Lampkin began his career as a left guard at Coastal Carolina before transferring to North Carolina and converting to center. At one point in Tony Mario's first 2023 NFL Mock Draft back in August of 2022, Tony actually had Willie Lampkin as his top interior offensive linemen with Zach Frazier as his number two interior offensive lineman. Zach Frazier was a day 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and Willie Lampkin should be drafed in the 2025 NFL Draft even if he happens to be a day 3 pick.
- The 5-10 270 lb Willie Lampkin is lighter than advertised. There's been some specultion he will move to tight end or fullback with his size..
- Other Seattle Seahawks Selections
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hollin Pierce, RT, Rutgers
- Luke Goedeke is in the final year of his rookie deal. Tampa Bay might draft a right tackle if they do not want to re-sign Luke Godeke.
- The 6-8 341 lb Hollin Pierce has the run blocking, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork. He's an elite run blocker, but the rest of his game needs refinement. Tampa Bay could stash him late in this draft if they don't want to pay Luke Goedeke next year. Hollin Pierce has the versatility to play both right tackle and left tackle meaning he could be Tampa Bay's swing tackle as a rookie right away.
- Other Tampa Bay Buccaneers Selections
Houston Texans: Myles Hinton, RT, Michigan
- Houston gets another right tackle for depth. Houston has a good starting right tackle, but their backup right tackle could be upgraded.
- The 6-7 323 lb Myles Hinton has the run blocking, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork. His pass blocking is okay, but nog great. He played left tackle at Stanford, but moved to right tackle once he transferred to Michigan.
- Other Houston Texans Selections
Green Bay Packers: Bilhale Kohn, CB, Western Michigan
- Green Bay drafts a cornerback for depth. Green Bay has Jaire Alxander at field cornerback, Nate Hobbs at boundary cornerback, Keisean Nixon at nickel cornerback, Carrington Valentine at dime cornerback, and Kalen King at quarter cornerback. Green Bay drafts another cornerback in the seventh round to push Vallentine and King.
- The 6-1 193 lb Bilhal Kone had 45 solo tackles, 25 assisted tackles, 70 total tackles, 9 deflections from pass breakups, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 interception, and 1 tackle for a loss in 2024. Bilhal Kone ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
- Other Green Bay Packers Selections
New England Patriots: Marcus Wehr, RG, Montana State
- New England drafts an offensive linemen for depth with their final pick. New England has a lot of depth on the interior offensive line. I am giving New England an offensive lineman with the versatility to play both right tackle and right guard.
- The 6-4 300 lb Marcus Wehr was the FCS offensive lineman of the year as a right tackle in 2023. Marcus Wehr moved to right guard in 2024 where he finished in the top 5 in both pass blocking and run blocking. Marcus Wehr has the run blocking, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork to start in the NFL. His pass blocking, pass blocking strength, pass blocking footwork, zone blocking, pancake blocking, cut blocking, and pull blocking needs work though.
- Other New England Patriots Selections
Dallas Cowboys: Barryn Sorrell, LE, Texas
- Dallas drafts a 4-3 left end after losing Demarcus Lawrence. Micah Parsons remains at 4-3 right end and Dante Fowler Jr. is the 4-3 left end. Sam Williams is the backup 4-3 right end and Marshawn Kneeland si the backup 4-3 left end. Payton Turner, the New Orleans Saints 2021 first round pick is the third string 4-3 left end. If the Dallas Cowboys draft another defensive end, he might start out as a third string defensive end, but could work his way up the depth chart if injuries and the right opportunity comes along.
- The 6-3 260 lb Barryn Sorrell had 16 solo tackles, 28 assisted tackles, 44 total tackles, 12 quarterback hurries, 11 tackles for a loss, 6 sacks, and 1 deflection from a pass breakup.
- Other Dallas Cowboys Selections
Chicago Bears: Mac McWilliams, CB, Central Florida
- Chicago has Jaylon Johnson at field cornerback, Tyrique Stevenson at boundary cornerback, Kyler Gordon at nickel cornerback who just got extended a year after Jaylon Johnson got extended, and Terrell Smith at dime cornerback. Chicago needs one more cornerback at quarter cornerback for depth.
- The 5-10 181 lb Mac McWilliams had 25 solo tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 32 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 2 deflections from pass breakups, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble in 2024. Mac McWilliams ran a 4.41 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
- Other Chicago Bears Selections
Houston Texans: JJ Pegues, DT, Ole Miss
- Houston drafts a defensive tackle for depth in the seventh round. I mocked a defensive tackle in the first round as a day 1 starter. This defensive tackle would be a second string defensive tackle in a depth role.
- The 6-2 309 lb JJ Pegues had 18 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, 42 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 5 quarterback hurries, 3.5 sacks, 1 deflection from pass breakup, and 7 rushing touchdowns as a fullback on trick plays in 2024. Not only can Houston draft JJ Pegues as a defensive tackle. They can also draft him as a fullback.
- Other Houston Texans Selections
Atlanta Falcons: Upton Stout, CB, Western Kentucky
- Atlanta drafts a defensive back for depth. Atlanta gets a defensive back with the versatility to play cornerback, strong safety, and free safety.
- The 5-8 178 lb Upton Stout had 29 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 52 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 3 quarterback hurries, 1 deflecton from a pass breakup, 1 interception, and 1 sack in 2024. Upton Stout ran a 4.44 40-yard dash and did 21 reps on the bench press at the 2025 NFL Combine. Upton Stout can play cornerback, strong safety, or free safety with his versatility.
- Other Atlanta Falcons Selections
Baltimore Ravens: CJ West, NT, Indiana
- Baltimore grabs a nose tackle for depth. Baltimore drafts a defensive tackle with the versatility to play 4-3 defensive tackle and 3-4 nose tackle.
- The 6-1 311 lb CJ West had 14 solo tackles, 26 assisted tackles, 40 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 1 deflection from a pass breakup, and 1 forced fumble in 2024. Baltimore needs depth behind Travis Jones.
- Other Baltimore Ravens Selections
Detroit Lions: Carson Vinson, LT, Alabama A&M
- The Detroit Lions draft a left tackle for depth behind Taylor Decker. Taylor Decker is under contract until 2028 and Penei Sewell is under contract unti 2029.
- The 6-6 314 lb Carson Vinson would be Detroit's backup left tackle. I think Vinson will get drafted to be a backup left tackle somewhere.
- Other Detroit Lions Selections
Washington Commanders: Kitan Crawford, FS, Nevada
- Washington drafts a safety for depth. Washington could end up drafting a backup strong safety or a backup free safety.
- The 5-10 203 lb Kitan Crawford had 42 solo tackles, 34 assisted tackles, 76 total tackles, 7 deflections from pass breakups, 3 tackles for a loss, 2 interceptions, 1 quarterback hurry, and 1 forced fumble in 2024. Kitan Crawford ran a 4.41 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.
- Other Washington Commanders Selections
New York Giants: Kain Medrano, 3-4 MLB, UCLA
- The New York Giants get a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth behind Micah McFadden. William Yanish actually picked this player with the New York Giants in my private group mock on Facebook.
- The 6-2 241 lb Kain Medrano had 50 solo tackles, 22 assisted tackles, 72 total tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, 4 deflections from pass breakups, 4 quarterback hurries, 3 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 1.5 sacks, and 1 defensive touchdown on a pick 6 in 2024. Kain Medrano ran a 4.41 40-yard dash and kept Kaleb Johnson in check.
- Other New York Giants Selections
Dallas Cowboys: Shilo Sanders, SS, Colorado
- Dallas drafts a safety for depth. Like father like son is in effect in Dallas as the Dallas Cowboys draft Shilo Sanders the son of legendary Dallas Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders.
- The 6-0 195 lb Shilo Sanders had 44 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 67 total tackles, 2 deflections from pass breakups, 2 tackles for a loss,1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 touchdown in 2024. It is not specified whether Shilo Sanders got a rushing touchdown on offense, a defensive touchdown on defense, or a special teams touchdown.
- Other Dallas Cowboys Selections
New Orleans Saints: Cody Lindenberg, MLB, Minnesota
- New Orleans gets a middle linebacker for depth. With Pete Werner at 4-3 right outside linebacker, the timing to get an understudy to Demario Davis feels right.
- The 6-2 239 lb Cody Lindenberg had 45 solo tackles, 49 assisted tackles, 94 total tackles, 6 deflections from pass breakups, 5 tackles for a loss, 3 quarterback hurries, and 1 interception in 2024. Cody Lindenberg might warrant a flyer for a team in the final round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
- Other New Orleans Saints Selections

Dwayne McGee had 2 seasons with over 1,000 rushing yards at Lenoir-Rhyne and ran for over 1,000 yards at Mercer in 2023.
