Pittsburgh wanted to end the series tonight and that's exactly what they did. Scoring the only goal in the first period was the start they needed.
Logan Couture continued to wow daily fantasy hockey owners with his tenth goal in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. That tied the game at 1.
A couple of assists by Sidney Crosby were the difference in the game. Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist scored for Pittsburgh.
Ironically enough, Crosby, the NHL's most profitable player won the Conn Smythe Award. Crosby wasn't the best candidate to give the award to even though he had the best performance in game 6 of the Stanley Cup. I would have gave the award to Letang. There were a lot of games where the Sharks were limited to under 30 shots on goal and a large reason that happened was due to Letang. The other player you could give the award to was Matt Murray.
Pittsburgh is your 2016 Stanley Cup Champion. They aren't losing that many players and could easily repeat next season, but we'll see what happens in 2016-2017 in the Fall after the Penguins enjoy the Stanley Cup this Summer.
