Chicago Fire 2016 Season Preview

The Chicago Fire lost goalie Jon Busch. The goalie they brought in to replace Busch looks terrible as he has no MLS experience, nor was he drafted.
The Fire still have issues at forward and midfield. Jon Busch was a better goalie then the guy they brought in so that's another issue itself.
The Fire did not have a forward that can get 10 goals, and they did not have a midfielder who generated 10 assists heading into 2015 and still don't have that heading into 2016 as most of their midfielders are gone. Now you got another goalie who may struggle compared to Busch.
I love the defense the Chicago Fire has. If the Fire surprises people and sneaks in as a #6 seed it will be due to this defense. You got Stanford left back Brandon Vincent at left back after trading Jack Harrison to New York City F.C. You also drafted Jonathan Campbell the center back from North Carolina at 12. Those guys will be playing with Free Agents like Joao Miera a Portugese center back and Michal Harrington who could be a good right back.
Prediction: Chicago will do better with this defense, but could easily have the worst team in the Eastern Conference again until they bolster their offense. At the same time, if this offense performs, the Fire are just as capable of sneaking in as a 6 seed with this defense. I'm gonna say the Fire go 20 games in 2016 allowing 2 goals or less. That's how good I think their defense can be this upcoming season. It will come down to whether the offense can keep up with these players.
