- Edison Engle has the skating of a top 100 pick. The rest of his game is a project. He should see the Dubuque Figting Saints second line next season with Joshua Neidermayer gone, but he's gonna have to develop at Ohio State for three years starting in 2026. Edison Engle probably will not sign his NHL entry level contract until 2029 at the earliest.
Nashville Predators: Lukas Sawchyn, RW, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL)
- The Nashville Predators draft a right winger for depth. Lukas Sawchyn is the younger brother of Florida Panthers 2023 second round pick Gracyn Sawchyn.

- Luke Mistelbacher has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Luke Mistelbacher produced a ridiculous input last year and it will be interesting to see if that total increases or decreases on the Brandon Wheat Kings.
New York Rangers: Cole Davis, LW, Windsor Spitfires (OHL)
- New York drafts a left winger with this sixth round pick from the Seattle Kraken. One left winger that might be a fit here is Windsor Spitfires left winger Cole Davis.
- The 5-10 183 lb Cole Davis had 21 goals, 24 assists, and 45 points, and a +13 +/- ratio in 2024-2025. Cole Davis had 1 goal, 4 assists, and 5 points in 10 games during the 2025 OHL Playoffs.
- Cole Davis has skating, speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Cole Davis really took the necessary steps to improve in his draft year.
Buffalo Sabres: Jonas Woo, D, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL)
- Buffalo drafts a defenseman in the sixth round. Jonas Woo is the younger brother of Jett Woo. Jonas Woo was also the Winnipeg Ice first round pick in the 2021 WHL Draft.
- The 5-9 165 lb Jonas Woo had 11 goals, 32 assists, 43 points, 35 penalty minutes, and a +38 +/- ratio in 57 WHL games in 2024-2025. Jonas Woo had 0 goals, 11 assists, and 11 points in 18 games during the 2025 WHL Playoffs.
- Jonas Woo has speed, explosion, agility, skating, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you want despite the lack of size. Jonas Woo was the number four defenseman on the Medicine Hat Tigers this past season playing on the second line with Bryce Pickford.
Anaheim Ducks: Olivier Groulx, LW, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)
- Anaheim goes for value. Olivier Groulx has the versatility to play all three forward roles at left winger, center, and right winger.
- The 6-1 187 lb Olivier Groulx had 17 goals, 24 assists, and 41 points on the Saint John Sea Dogs as a first line center in 2024-2025. With Alexis Joseph coming to the Saint John Sea Dogs next season, I'm expecting Olivier Groulx to move over to left winger and be the first line left winger on the Saint John Sea Dogs next season.
- Olivier Groulx has the skating, foot speed, versatility, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot power, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you covet. Olivier Groulx is the seventy third player with experience on the first line in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Nolan Roed, C, Tri-City Storm (USHL)

Nolan Roed is the seventy fourth player with experience on the first line in the 2025 NHL Draft.

- Cole Temple has the skating, foot speed, versatility, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Cole Temple needs to improve his defensive awareness. The son of former WHL player Jeff Temple has a chance to get to the NHL as a bottom pairing center with the right development.
New York Rangers: Liam Danielsson, RW, Orebro HK (Elitserien)
- New York goes with the best player available here. Liam Danielsson is one of my gems still on the board in the sixth round.
- The 5-11 165 lb Liam Danielsson is the son of Bjorn Danielsson who played professionally in Sweden. Liam Danielsson had 18 goals, 46 assists, and 64 points on the Orebro HK Under 20 Team in 2023-2024. Liam Danielsson had 15 goals, 42 assists, and 57 points on the Orebro HK Under 20 Team in 2024-2025. Liam Danielsson had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 points in 26 SHL games in 2024-2025.
- Liam Danielsson has the skating, foot speed, versatility, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot power, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you covet. This guy was one of my gems outside of the top 100 despite not playing on a top line.
Detroit Red Wings: Ryan Rucinski, C, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)
- Detroit drafts a college player that they can stash and develop. Ryan Rucinski is the son of former Western Michigan two time captain Jeff Rucinski He played on the Cleveland Barons Under 14 Team, Cleveland Barons Under 15 Team, and the Cleveland Barrons Under 16 Team before joining the Youngstown Phantoms as a third round pick in the 2022 USHL Draft. Ryan Rucinski is going to Ohio State this Fall as Detroit snipes Ryan Rucinski from the Columbus Blue Jackets in the sixth round of this 2025 NHL Mock Draft.
- The 5-10 176 lb Ryan Rucinski had 19 goals, 23 assists, 42 points, 48 penalty minutes, and a +9 +/- ratio with the Youngstown Phantoms in 2024-2025. Ryan Rucinski had 3 goals, 0 assists, and 3 points in 3 games during the 2025 USHL Playoffs.
- Ryan Rucinski has the skating, explosion, burst, agility, foot speed, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Ryan Rucinski has a lot of traits you covet even though there's not a lot of tape on him. He still needs to refine those traits and will get the opportunity to do that at Ohio State.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Roope Vesterinen, LW, HPK (SM Liiga)
- Columbus drafts Roope Vesterinen. Roope Vesterinen is one of the best overagers in the 2025 NHL Draft.
- The 5-10 183 lb Roope Vesterinen had 10 goals, 14 assists, 24 points, and a +6 +/- ratio in 46 games with HPK in Liiga in 2024-2025. Roope Vesterinen has the skating, explosion, burst, agility, foot speed, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL.
- Roope Vesterinnen models his skating after Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz. Roope Hintz began as a left winger in Finland before converting to center as the Dallas Stars 2015 second round pick.
Utah Mammoth: Will Reynolds, D, Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL)
- Utah drafts a defenseman to stash and develop. Will Reynolds is a defenseman that could warrant a late round flyer.
- The 6-3 192 lb Will Reynolds had 4 goals, 10 assists, 14 points, and a +5 +/- ratio on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in 64 QMJHL games in 2024-2025. Will Reynolds had 0 goals, 2 assists, and 2 points in 5 games in the 2025 QMJHL Playoffs.
- Will Reynolds has the skating, foot speed, versatility, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He did well on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan penalty killing unit. He does need a lot of work on offense despite being sound on defense and winning face offs consistently.
Vancouver Canucks: Aidan Park, C, Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)
- Vancouver drafts a center in the sixth round. Aidan Park was drafted third overall by the Green Bay Gamblers in the 2022 USHL Draft.
- Aidan Park is versatile enough to play left wing, center, and right wing. He's a power forward that profiles similar to former Dallas Stars right winger Loui Eriksson. He lacks the footwork you want from a first round skater and his feet were suspect when he was on defense without the puck with one USHL scout saying Park got exposed when he didn't have the puck. He won't separate too much offensively due to his feet.
- Aidan Park has the upside to be a first line right winger, but he feels like a boom or bust prospect at the same time due to lingering questions with how he uses his feet. Park makes up for inconsistent feet with a nasty toe drag. While refining his skating along with his defense is a work in progress, he's got the explosiveness to get separation from a defender and finish a play when on the attack with the puck if you watched him at Shattuck Saint Mary's.
- He was also the line 1 right winger on a Shattuck Saint Mary's offense which currenlty features three of the top 4 prospects in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft posting 50 goals, 68 assists, and 118 points in 54 games on the Shattuck St. Mary's Under 16 Team that featured Cole Eiserman at left winger, Macklin Celebrini at center, and Aidan Park at right winger on their first line back in 2021-2022. Aidan Park was the weak link of that offense which is an argument you can make if you disagree with my A+ grade for Aidan Park going third overall since Cole Eiserman was the line 1 left winger on Shattuck Saint Mary's, Macklin Celebrini was the line 1 center, and Aidan Park was the line 1 right winger. If someone in the 2024 NHL Draft falls out of the top 5, it may end up being Park. Aidan Park slipped under the radar going undrafted in the 2024 NHL Draft, but he should get picked in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
- The 6-1 187 lb Aidan Park had 30 goals, 63 assists, and 93 points in 56 games with the Shattuck St. Mary's Under 18 Prep Team in 2023-2024. Aidan Park had 33 goals, 33 assists, 66 points, 49 penalty minutes, and a +1 +/- ratio in 55 USHL games with the Green Bay Gamblers in 2024-2025. Aidan Park had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 3 games in the 2025 USHL Playoffs. Aidan Park really did a great job fixing his weaknesses in his post one draft year.
- Aidan Park has the skating, foot speed, versatility, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot power, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you covet. Aidan Park is the seventy fifth player with experience on the first line in the 2025 NHL Draft. Aidan Park was the Green Bay Gamblers first line center this past season, but I'm not sure if he will play for the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL or the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA next season.
Calgary Flames: Lucas Karmiris, C, Brampton Steelheads (OHL)
- Calgary gets a center they can stash and develop. Lucas Karmiris was the Missississauga Steelheads first round pick in the 2022 OHL Draft.
- The 5-11 190 lb Lucas Karmiris had 13 goals, 22 assists, 35 points, 28 penalty minutes, and a +18 +/- ratio in 40 games with the Brampton Steelheads in 2024-2025. Lucas Karmiris had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 6 games in the 2025 OHL Playoffs.
- Lucas Karmiris has the skating, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ that you want in an NHL center. Lucas Karmiris checks every box from a traits standpoint despite having fewer points in his draft year versus his plus 1 draft year.
Montreal Canadiens: Raiden LeGall, G, Everett Silverips (WHL)
- Montreal drafts another player for value. Everett Silvertips goalie Raiden LeGall makes a lot of sense for a Montreal Canadiens team that has stability at goalie in the NHL short-term and long-term stability on their AHL team the Laval Rocket with Jacob Fowler finally emerging. If Raiden LeGall develops, he could be a decent backup to Jacob Fowler down the road in the NHL. The Everett Silvertips have developed other NHL goalies like Carter Hart and Dustin Wolf and Raiden LeGall is the next goalie in line.
- The 6-0 174 lb Raiden LeGall had a 2.17 goals against average, a .921 save percentage, 1 shutout, and a 16-2-4 record in 22 starts playing 23 regular season games with the Everett Silvertips in 2024-2025. Raiden LeGall had a 2.67 goals against average, a .920 save percentage, 1 shutout, and a 5-4-1 record in 10 games during the 2025 WHL Playoffs.
- Raiden LeGall only checked off 6/10 boxes. He needs to improve his post integration, quickness, footwork, and puckhandling. Raiden LeGall is going to Bemidji State to play college hockey in the NCAA this Fall.
New Jersey Devils: Tanner Lam, RW, Kitchener Rangers (OHL)
- New Jersey drafts a right winger for the future. Tanner Lam makes a lot of sense in the sixth round.
- The 5-10 157 lb Tanner Lam had 13 goals, 40 assists, 53 points, 24 penalty minutes, and a +18 +/- ratio in 67 OHL games in 2024-2025. Tanner Lam had 4 goals, 4 assists, and 8 points in 16 games in the 2025 OHL Playoffs.
- Tanner Lam has the skating, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you want. Tanner Lam has good traits despite not having an explosive stride or playing on the first line. He's done well for a Kitchener Rangers 2023 second round pick.
St. Louis Blues: Carl Axelsson, G, Austin Bruins (NAHL)
- St. Louis goes for value here. One goalie that impressed me on film is Carl Axelsson.
- The 6-4 183 lb Carl Axelsson had a 1.74 goals against average which was the best goals against average of any propect in this draft, a .937 save percentage, 6 shutouts, and a 14-4-1 record with the Austin Bruins in 19 starts with the Austin Bruins in the North American Hockey League. Carl Axelsson had a 1.98 goals against average, and a .941 save percentage in 1 overtime loss.
- Carl Axelsson only checked off 6/10 boxes. He needs to improve his post integration, reading the puck by tracking, post save recovery, and puckhandling. Carl Axelsson dominated the North American Hockey League this past season, but struggled with Skelleftea AIK in Sweden.
Minnesota Wild: Ethan Wyttenbach, LW, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)
- Minnesota drafts a left winger they can stash for the future. Ethan Wyttenbach won the Gaudreau Award for being a USHL player that represents the Gaudreau brothers. Ethan Wyttenbach has the versatility to play both left winger and right winger.
- The 5-10 181 lb Ethan Wyttenbach had 24 goals, 27 assists, 51 points, 28 penalty minutes, and a +12 +/- ratio in 44 USHL games with Ethan Wyttenbach leading his team in goals, assists, and points despite missing a month with an injury. Ethan Wyttenbach had 1 goal, 3 assists, and 4 points in 4 games during the 2025 USHL Playoffs.
- Ethan Wyttenbach has the skating, versatility, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. I'd like to see Ethan Wyttenbach develop is slap shot power and slap shot accuracy, but everything else checks out. Ethan Wyttenbach is the seventy sixth player with experience on a first line in the 2025 NHL Draft.
- Ethan Wyttenbach's father and grandfather played college hockey at Cornell. Thibaud Chatel put together a prospect model for best prospects in the NHL from now until 30 with Ethan Wyttenbach coming in as the sixth best player on that list only trailing Michael Misa, James Hagens, Matthew Schaefer, Jeremy Loranger who I mocked to the Dallas Stars in round 5, and Porter Martone. Ethan Wyttenbach has a better projection on Thibaud Chatel's model than either Anton Frondell the favorite to go third overall or Brady Martin the favorite to go fourth overall in the 2025 NHL Draft.
- Ethan Wyttenbach has one more year of USHL eligibility next season. Ethan Wyttenbach will head to Quinnipiac in 2026-2027.
Ottawa Senators: Mikkel Eriksen, C, Farjestads BK (Elitserien)
- Ottawa gets a center here. Mikkel Eriksen makes a lot of sense here in the sixth round.
- The 5-11 185 lb Mikkel Eriksen had 22 goals, 21 assists, 43 points, 8 penalty minutes, and a +1 +/- ratio in 40 games with the Farjestads BK Under 20 Team in 2024-2025. Mikkel Eriksen also had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 points in 2 2025 Playoff games.
- Mikkel Eriksen has the skating, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He's got the shooting down, but you'd like to see him develop more as a passer. His father played professionally in Norway where Mikkel Eriksen was born and his uncle Espen Knutsen played professionally in Sweden.
Nashville Predators: Andreas Straka, C, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)
- The Nashville Predators use this sixth round pick from Colorado on a center. Andreas Straka makes a lot of sense here as he has the versatility to play left winger, center, and right winger. Andreas Straka was drafted fourth overall by the Quebec Remparts in the 2024 CHL Import Draft after being from Slovakia before going to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
- The 6-1 192 lb Andreas Straka had 9 goals, 25 assists, and 34 points in 53 games in 2024-2025. Andreas Straka had 0 goals, 4 assists, and 4 points in 4 games in the 2025 QMJHL Playoffs.

- Tampa Bay drafts a center. Shawn Carrier has the versatility to play left winger or center. Shawn Carrier was drafted sixth overall by the Moncton Wildcats in the 2023 QMJHL Draft.

- Shawn Carrier has the skating, foot speed, versatility, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Shawn Carrier played left winger on the Moncton Wildcats, but moved to center when getting traded to the Halifax Mooseheads.
Los Angeles Kings: Kolten Bridgeman, D, Regina Pats (WHL)
- The Los Angeles Kings draft a defenseman to stash and develop in their prospect pool. Kolten Bridgeman is a great value pick at this point in the sixth round.
- The 6-4 216 lb Kolten Bridgeman had 1 goal, 6 assists, and 7 points in 63 games with the Regina Pats in 2024-2025. Kolten Bridgeman has the skating, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He was a second line defenseman on the Regina Pats who excelled as a penalty killer. He's great at hitting opponents and blocking shots, but his +/- ratio is in the negative.
Toronto Maple Leafs: Cayden Taylor, C, Peterborough Petes (OHL)
- Toronto goes for value in the sixth round. Cayden Taylor has the versatility to play all three forward roles at left winger, center, and right winger. Cayden Taylor was drafted by the Sudbury Wolves ninth overall in the 2023 OHL Draft.

Vegas Golden Knights: Drew Schock, D, USNTDP (USHL)
- The Vegas Golden Knights need to get younger players and start adding to their prospect pool. One defenseman that Vegas could target is Drew Schock.

- The Carolina Hurricanes draft the best player on the board in the sixth round. The best player on the board happens to be a goalie allowing the Carolina Hurricanes to stash a goalie in their prospect pool.
