2026 NHL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds
Round 4
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: June 26, 2026.
Vancouver Canucks: Ben MacBeath, D, Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
- Vancouver drafts a defenseman here, Ben MacBeath is raw, but he's someone that can develop into a top four defenseman on a second line in the NHL. He is also the final player in this draft with experience on a first line. I can see why some have him in the late first and early second round after watching his tape.
- Ben MacBeath has the skating, playmaking, passing, vision, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Ben MacBeath is the eighty eighth player as well as the final player with experience or potential to play on a first line in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- The 6-2 181 lb Ben MacBeath had 7 goals, 44 assists, a +5 +/- ratio, 122 shots on goal, a +5 +/- ratio, 1 power play goal, and 1 game-winning goal in 67 WHL games with the Calgary Hitme in 2025-2026. Ben MacBeath had 0 goals, 2 assists, and 2 points in 7 games in the 2026 OHL Playoffs.
Florida Panthers: Samuel Hrenak, G, Fargo Force (USHL)
- Both Florida's starting goalie and backup goalie are UFA's. I gave Florida Brady Knowling in the second round and this is the only team I am mocking two goalies to with Florida drafting the second of those two goalies in the fourth round.
- Samuel Hrenak is the only other goalie outside of Tobias Trejbal that I watched record a shutout, but Hrenak only had 23 saves in his shutout compared to the 33 saves Trejbal had. Samuel Hrenak is the younger brother of Los Angeles Kings 2018 fifth round pick David Hrenak who played at St. Cloud State. Samuel Hrenak has a very small sample size with only 9 starts in the USHL and he hasn't committed to a college yet.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Samuel Hrenak checked off 8/10 boxes, but needs to improve his his post save recovery and also needs to make more saves with his blocker pad more consistently as he relies on his glove to cover up pucks.
- The 6-3 183 lb Samuel Hrenak went 7-1-1 in 9 starts, had a 2.20 goals against average, .918 save percentage, and 1 shutout with the Fargo Force in 2025-2026. Samuel Hrenak also dominated at goalie for Slovakia at the Under 18 World Junior Championships. This is the only goalie I've seen on tape score an empty-net goal too.
Seattle Kraken: Jack Parsons, G, Providence
- Niklas Kokko, Seattle's 2022 second round pick has been great for Coachella Valley in the AHL. He's been god awful in 4 NHL starts. Niklas Kokko did improve froma 4.01 GAA and .667 save percentage in 1 game in 2024-2025 to a 3.04 GAA and .890 save percentage in 3 games in 2025-2026. Niklas Kokko's goals against average and save percentage dropped from year one in Coachella Valley to year two in Coachella Valley. It is time to draft a goalie that can be a contingency plan for the Seattle Kraken at goalie because it looks like Niklas Kokko is not going to be a starting goalie in the NHL.
- Providence goalie Jack Parsons is the top goalie on the board. He was previously with the USNTDP in the USHL and the Chicago Steel in the USHL before joining the Providence Friars for his freshman season this past season.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. John Parsons checked off 8/10 boxes, but needs to improve his his quickness and footwork.
- The 6-4 195 lb Jack Parsons went 13-5 in 18 starts playing in 19 games posting a 2.05 goals against average, a .922 save percentage, and 2 shutouts as a freshman in 2025-2026. Jack Parsons recorded a shutout agianst Maine and is the third goalie that I've seen record a shutout.
Calgary Flames: Yegor Rybkin, G, Torpedo Nizhny Novogorod (KHL)
- Calgary drafts a goalie that can be an eventual backup to Dustin Wolf down the road. Yegor Rybkin makes a lot of sense here.
- The 6-7 207 lb Yegor Rybkin went 5-2 in 11 games only starting 7 of those eleven games posting a 2.56 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in 2025-2026. Yegor Rybkin looks like he could be a potential steal at goalie.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Yegor Rybkin checked off 8/10 boxes, but needs to improve his his ability to read the puck by tracking and his puckhandling on saves.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Jack Hextall, C, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)
- Columbus drafts a center here. One second line center still on the board is Jack Hextall, who Columbus can develop at Michigan State with current Blue Jackets top five pick Cayden Lindstrom. Jack Hextall was the Youngstown Phantoms second round pick in the 2024 USHL Draft.
- Jack Hextall has the skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Jack Hextall may not be a first line center, but he has traits of a second round prospect. Some have mocked him near the end of the first round, but there are eighty eight skaters and eleven goalies I like more from an upside potential standpoint. Hextall is a top 100 player, but there are 99 guys I like more. That being said, you cannot really fault a team for taking Jack Hextall if they have an established first line center and love the traits that Jack Hextall brings to an organization. Meaning I will not give a team a poor grade for drafting Hextall in the first round unless that team lacks a really good first line center expecting Hextall to be that top line guy.
- The 5-11 188 lb Jack Hextall had 8 goals, 26 assists, 34 points, 96 shots on goal, 30 penalty minutes, a +5 +/- ratio, 4 power play goals, and 2 game-winning goals in his rookie season with the Youngstown Phantoms in 2024-2025. Jack Hextall had 0 goals, 1 assist, and 1 point in 3 games during the 2025 USHL Playoffs. Jack Hextall had 20 goals, 38 assists, 58 points, 146 shots on goal, a +8 +/- ratio, 9 power play goals, 6 game-winning goals, and 2 short-handed goals with the Youngstown Phantoms in 2025-2026. Jack Hextall had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 points in 4 games in the 2026 USHL Playoffs.
Seattle Kraken: Casey Mutryn, RW, USNTDP (USHL)
- Seattle goes for a stash and develop player. Casey Mutryn is a long-term project with the size of a first round winger that will not enroll in in the NCAA at Boston College until 2027. His father is former New England Patriots fourth string quarterback and former Amsterdam Admirals backup quarterback Scott Mutryn who beat out Matt Hasselbeck for the starting quarterback job at Boston College before getting benched for Matt Hasselbeck at Boston College.
- Casey Mutryn has the skating, passing, vision, offensive awareness, and defensive awareness to succeed in the NHL. Casey Mutryn's floor is a first line right winger on an AHL team and his ceiling is a second line right winger on an NHL team if you remain patient with him. He still needs to develop his wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot accuracy with his shot more than likely not being refined until after he's done with college. You are more than likely getting a back 6 right winger on the third or fourth line that can be a second line penalty killer at the wing in short-handed situations as well.
- The 6-3 200 lb Casey Mutryn only had 7 goals, 9 assists, and 16 points in 25 USHL games in 2025-2026. He still has one more year of eligiblity in the USHL before he enrolls at Boston College. He had 18 goals, 28 assists, and 46 points on the USA Under 18 Team, but struggled against men in the USHL. That can be an indicator that Mutryn is more likely to be an AHL player than an NHL player. It's too early to tell if that's the case, since we won't know until next year before he enrolls at Boston College. Casey Mutryn does have the potential to develop into a second line right winger on an NHL team, but also probably will not reach the NHL until 2030 which is why I have him as my one hundred first best player in this draft.
- Casey Mutryn does have the size, physicality, and work ethic to succeed in the NHL. If he gets drafted before the fourth round where I have him, which is possible since most have a second round grade on Mutryn, it will be due to his physical tools and traits.
Montreal Canadiens: Victor Plante, LW, USNTDP (USHL)
- Montreal drafts a winger to stash and develop too. Victor PLante is the younger brother of Max Plante, this years Hobey Baker Award Winner, College Hockey's version of the Heisman Trophy. Max Plante already came out and said Victor is a better player than he is which is a heck of an endorsement. Victor Plante has the versatility to play both winger roles at left winger and right winger. Victor Plante is also the son of former Stanley Cup Champion Derek Plante who got traded from the Buffalo Sabres to the Dallas Stars during the 1998-1999 NHL Season when the Stars defeated the Sabres in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals.
- Victor Plante has the versatility, playmaking, passing, wrist shot power, and wrist shot accuracy to succeed in the NHL. Victor Plante is undersized, a bland skater with a choppy stride, needs to develop his slap shot in terms of both shooting power as well as shooting accuracy on his slap shot, and he is a liability defensively.
- The 5-10 156 lb Victor Plante had 8 goals, 10 assists, and 18 points in 20 USHL games against men in 2025-2026. He also posted 21 goals, 27 assists, and 48 points on the US Under 18 team against kids his own age versus men in 2025-2026. Victor Plante's floor is a third line left winger in the AHL and his ceiling is a second line left winger in the NHl. That averages out to a fourth line left winger projection in the NHL. Victor Plante is going to Minnesota-Duluth to play with his older brother this Fall.
San Jose Sharks: Adam Goljer, D, HK Dukla Trencin (Tipos)
- San Jose drafts a second line defenseman to stash and develop. Adam Goljer was arguably the top prospect in Tipos this Fall, but he didn't enter the Fall as the top prospect. His defensive play leading up to the 2026 NHL Draft has made him the top prospect from Slovakia in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- Adam Goljer has the skating, playmaking, passing, vision, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Adam Goljer has the floor of a number seven defenseman anchoring the first line in the AHL and the ceiling of a number three defenseman anchoring the second line defense on an NHL team. I believe he will be a number five or a number four, but his skill set as a two-way defender, his ability to be a quarterback on the power play, his ability to kill penalties, and the fact that he took a shutout into the third period has me believing he can be a very effective number four defenseman that rounds out your NHL teams top 4 defense once he finishes developing with the ability to be a second line power play defender and a second line penalty killing defenseman if your NHL team needs that.
- The 6-3 194 lb Adam Goljer had 4 goals, 7 assists, and 11 points in 43 games with HK Dukla Trencin in 2025-2026. Adam Goljer had 0 goals, 2 assists, and 2 points in 7 games during the 2026 Tipos Playoffs.
Carolina Hurricanes: Nikita Shcherbakov, D, Salavat Yulaev Ufa (KHL)
- Carolina continues to draft defense. Carolina takes a top four defenseman that can develop into a second line defenseman in the fourth round.
- Nikita Shcherbakov has the playmaking, passing, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Nikita Shcherbakov has the floor of a number seven defenseman first line AHL or NHL scratch with the ceiling of a number three defenseman on the second line. He can play on the power play or kill penalties. He's not a great skater or shooter. That needs to get cleaned up in Russia before he heads over to the NHL as his contract in Russia expires after next season. You can get him on an AHL team if you draft him by 2027, but he still needs to fix his skating, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot power. He will be spending his entire rookie contract on an AHL team and will not see the NHL until 2030 at the earliest. He does have the ceiling to be an effective number four defenseman in the NHL though as a complimentary piece on a second line.
- The 6-3 187 lb Nikita Shcherbakov had 0 goals, 10 assists, and 10 points in 15 MHL games in the MHL in 2025-2026. Nikita Shcherbakov had 4 goals, 6 assists, and 10 points in 35 games in the VHL in 2025-2026. Nikita Shcherbakov had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 7 KHL games in 2025-2026.
Nashville Predators: Simas Ignatavicius, LW, Geneve-Servette HC (National League A)
- Nashville drafts a left winger for the future. Simas Ignatavicius has the versatility to play all three forward roles at left winger, center, and right winger.
- Simas Ignatavicius has the speed, explosion, burst, versatility, agility, skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. This is a player with the ceiling to develop into a second line forward on an NHL team at any of the three forward roles at left winger, center, or right winger.
- The 6-3 201 lb Simas Ignatavicius had 7 goals, 6 assists, 13 points, and a +7 +/- ratio against men in Switzerland in 2025-2026. Simas Ignatavicius had 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 points, 0 penalty minutes, and a +4 +/- ratio in 11 games in the 2026 National League A Playoffs.
- Simas Ignatavicius was born in Memphis Tennessee, but has duel citizenship also having citizenship in Lithuania. He ended up playing hockey overseas in Switzerland. Simas Ignatavicius could go anywhere between the late first round and the early fourth round with most mocking him in the early second round. The very top of the fourth round is the latest he would fall.
St. Louis Blues: Tomas Chrenko, C, HK Nitra (Tipos)
- St. Louis drafts a center for the future. Tomas Chrenko was the second best player in Slovakia behind Adam Nemec in the preseason, but as the season progressed Nemec went to the OHL, and Chrenko did have a challenger for that top Slovakian spot in Adam Goljec.
- Tomas Chrenko has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, versatility, skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Tomas Chrenko may not be a top line forward, but he interviewed extremely well and he had the best interview of any player that wasn't on the top line. Tomas Chrenko could end up going a lot higher than this as I see him as someone that could be a very good second line center on an NHL team if he reaches his ceiling.
- The 5-11 170 lb Tomas Chrenko had 2 goals, 7 assists, and 9 points in 26 games in Tipos against the best men in Slovakia in 2024-2025. Tomas Chrenko had 9 goals, 22 assists, 31 points, 10 penalty minutes, and a +11 +/- ratio n 44 games in Tipos in 2025-2026. Tomas Chrenko had 2 goals, 10 assists, and 12 points in 19 games in the Tipos playoffs leading HK Nitra to a Championship in that league. His father of the same name played professionally in Slovakia and is also the General Manager of HK Nitra.
New Jersey Devils: Eddy Doyle, D, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)
- New Jersey drafts a defender. Eddy Doyle was the number four defenseman on the Halifax Mooseheads, yet he's projected to get drafted higher than Carlos Hendel who I had a first round grade on last year.
- Eddy Doyle has the skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Eddy Doyle is a player that can developinto a solid number four complimentary defenseman on an NHl team with the right development.
- The 6-3 193 lb Eddy Doyle had 2 goals, 16 assists, 18 points, 16 penalty miutes, 84 shots on goal, 1 game-winning goal, and 1 super short handed goal in a 5 on 3 situation in 2025-2026. Eddy Doyle had 0 goals, 0 assists, and 0 points in 4 games during the 2026 QMJHL Playoffs.
New York Islanders: Ryan Brown, LW, London Knights (OHL)
- The New York Islanders draft a left winger for the future. Ryan Brown was a first round pick by the Sarnia Sting in the 2023 OHL Draft.
- Ryan Brown has the skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Ryan Brown is someone that could developinto a second line left winger on an NHL team.
- The 5-11 172 lb Ryan Brown had 22 goals, 41 assists, 63 points, a +1 +/- ratio, 43 penalty menuts, 137 shots on goal, 5 power play goals, 2 game-winning goals, and 1 short-handed goal in 2025-2026. Ryan Brown had 3 goals, 2 assists, and 5 points in 5 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs.
Ottawa Senators: Blake Zielinski, C, Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL)
- The Ottawa Senators get a USHL player to stash and develop. Blake Zielinski has the versatility to play all three forward roles at left winger, center, and right winger, but I think he projects best as a center in the NHL. Blake Zielinski was drafted third overall by the Des Moines Buccaneers in the 2024 USHL Draft.
- Blake Zielinski has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, versatility, skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Blake Zielinski or as I nicknamed him Mr. Steal Your Hockey Puck is a beast on the rush. I believe he will be a really good second line center on the right NHL team down the raod in five years from now.
- The 5-11 188 lb Blake Zielinski had 13 goals, 19 assists, 32 points, 10 penalty minutes, and a +5 +/- ratio in 41 USHL games with the Des Moines Buccaneers as a rookie in 2024-2025. Blake Zielinski had 25 goals, 30 assists, 55 points, 33 penalty minutes, and a +9 +/- ratio in 53 USHL games with the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2025-2026. Blake Zielinski is going to Providence this Fall and I believe Blake Zielinski will continue his success in the NCAA.
Boston Bruins: Leo Henriquez, G, Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)
- The Boston Bruins draft a goalie to develop. This goalie can be Jeremy Swayman's backup down the road and an eventual replacement to Korpisalo. Green Bay Gamblers goalie Leo Henrqiuez also known as Roberto Henriquez. His full name is Roberto Leonardo Henriquez, but he goes by Leo Henriquez. This is a guy that the Boston Bruinns could consider here inn the fourth round while Koprisalo plays out his contract with the Bruins as Swayman recently signed an eight year contract extension while Leo Henriquez will be across the street developing at Boston College this Fall now that his USHL career is over.
- The 6-1 168 lb Leo Henriquez had a 2.22 goals against average, a .921 save percentage, 2 shutouts, and went 21-9-4 in 34 starts while also playing 37 games with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL in 2025-2026. Leo Henriquez had a 2.01 goals agaisnt average and .897 save percentage in the two games the Green Bay Gamblers lost during the 2026 USHL Playoffs.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Leo Henriquez checked off 8/10 boxes, but needs to improve his his style as he is still too low on some shots getting beat by high shots in the upper corners frequetly and he also needs to improve his ability to make saves with his blocker pad once he gets to Boston College. Leo Henriquez's nickname is the "Mad Scientist". The Mad Scientist warrants a fourth round flyer and Elite Prospects has him in their top 75 ranking him as their sixth best goalie. He was the twelfth goalie to get drafted in this seven round mock draft. I do believe the Mad Scientist can become an NHL starting goalie, but his profile shows he projects better as a backup goalie and he's a great fit behind Jeremy Swayman down the road in Boston.
Washington Capitals: Patriks Plumins, G, HK Zemgale (LHHL)
- Washington drafts a goalie to stash and develop in their prospect pool. Patricks Plumins does not have much a sample size, but he's the fourth goalie I've seen record a shutout on tape and the third goalie in this draft that checked off all 10 boxes outside of Tobias Trejbal and Brady Knowling who are my top two goalies this year. Why is he ranked so low. He only played 16 games against grown men in Latvia's LHHL professional hockey league and was awful in his lone playoff start.
- The 6-3 203 lb Patriks Plumins had a 1.50 goals against average which was the best GAA of any goalie in the 2026 NHL Draft, a .927 save percentage which is up there, and 3 shutouts in 16 games with HK Zemgale in the LHHL in 2025-2026. Patriks Plumins had a 4.14 GAA an .824 save percentage in his lone playoff start in the 2026 LHHL Playoffs.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Patriks Plumins checks off all ten boxes just like my top two goalies in the 2026 NHL Draft in Tobias Trejbal and Brady Knowling, but he has a much smaller sample size then both of my top two goalies which is why he's ranked my thirteenth best goalie in this draft even though he has an argument that he's the third best goalie in this entire draft since he's the only other goalie besides Trejbal and Knowling to check all 10 boxes on tape.
Los Angeles Kings: Adam Valentini, LW, Michigan
- The Los Angeles Kings draft Michigan left winger Adam Valentini Many USHL scouts had Adam Valentini graded as the best player in the 2024 USHL Draft outside of Mikey Berchild. Adam Valentini was also a first round pick in the 2024 OHL Draft drafted by the Mississauga Steelheads who later became the Brampton Steelheads.
- Adam Valentini has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, versatility, skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Adam Valentini has the floor of a fourth line left winger and the ceiling of a second line left winger. I believe he will be a third line left winger in the NHL, but he showed flashes of being able to play on the top six near the end of the season ater enterig the presason as my thirty first best player and final first round prospect, but now he falls to the middle of the fourth round in this final mock.
- The 5-10 187 lb Adam Valentini had 52 goals, 82 assists, and 134 points in 57 games with the Toronto Marlboros Under 16 AAA Team in 2023-2024. Adam Valentini had 17 goals, 22 assists, and 39 points with the Chicago Steel in 2024-2025. Adam Valentini was going to play for the Kitchener Rangers this season in the OHL, but he decommitted from them to go to the NCAA to play for Michigan. Adam Valentini had 11 goals, 16 assists, and 27 points as a freshman at Michigan. His favorite player that he looked up to was Dallas Stars center Wyatt Johnston as he also got to train with him.
Toronto Maple Leafs: Oliwer Sjostrom, D, Lulea HF (Elitsrien)
- The Toronto Maple Leafs get another defenseman. Oliwer Sjostrom is undersized, but he has enough of a ceiling to develop into a second line defenseman downn the road on an NHL team. The Lulea HF defenseman spent this season on a loan with IF Bjorkloven. Toronto needs defenders with every defender set to be a UFA by 2030.
- Oliwer Sjostrom skating, playmaking, passing, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He needs to get stronger and develop his shot though. His wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, and slap shot accuracy needs work.
- The 5-11 165 lb Oliwer Sjostrom had 1 goal, 25 assists, and 26 points on a loan with IF Bjorkloven in 2025-2026. He will return to Lulea HF in 2026-2027.
Utah Mammoth: Callum Croskery, D, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL)
- Utah drafts another top four defenseman that could be a second line player in the NHL down the road to stash and develop. Callum Croskery is teammates with Chase Reid on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds unlike Reid, the number one defenseman on the Greyhounds, Croskery is the number four defenseman complimenting the best defender on the Greyhounds second line. He has played with Chase Reid on the first line power play as the second defender.
- Callum Croskery has the skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Callum Croskery gives you a solid number four defenseman on an NHL roster with first line power play ability as a number two defenseman, but with most NHL teams only playing one defender on the power play he projects as a second line NHL defenseman on the power play at the next level.
- The 6-1 176 lb Callum Croskery had 3 goals, 15 assists, 18 points, a +17 +/- ratio, and 59 shots on goal in 43 games in 2025-2026. Callum Croskery had 1 goal, 4 assists, and 5 points in 10 games during the 2026 OHL Playoffs. Callum Croskery is going to college at Boston College.
Winnipeg Jets: Martin Psohlavec, G, HC Energie Karlovy Vary (Extraliga)
- The Winnipeg Jets draft a goalie that could be a successor to Connor Hellebuyck. This goalie would be a long-term project and would have to prove themselves overseas before getting an opportunity to compete in the AHL. If they proved themselves in the AHL, they could be Connor Hellebuyck's backup in five years now and be positioned to take over when Connor Hellebuyck's contract expires.
- The 6-5 185 lb Martin Psohlavec had a 1.92 goals against average which was the second best GAA of any goalie in the 2026 NHL Draft, a .928 save percentage which may be the best save percentage I've seen, and an exceptionally impressive 8 shutouts in 42 games with HC Energie Karlovy Vary's Under 20 Team against adolescents, but not men in 2025-2026. He also went 5-3 in 8 playoff games with a 1.78 goals against agverage, .925 save percentage, and had 3 shutouts in 5 of his playoff wins.
- Style, Post Integration, Glove, Blocker Pad, Reading The Puck By Tracking, Rebound Control, Post Save Recovery, Quickness, Footwork, and Puckhandling. Those are ten different categories that NHL Draft Scouts use to evaluate goalies. Martin Psohlavec checked off 8/10 boxes and needs to improve his post save recovery and puckhandling. He made 35 saves in a tournament game leading up to the 2026 NHL Draft.
Anaheim Ducks: Rudolfs Berzkalns, C, Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL)
- Anaheim is already stacked at center. Roger McQueen last years first round pick isn't in the NHL yet. However, Rudolfs Berzkalns is too good to pass on here this late in the fourth round even if he takes the NCAA route, then goes to an AHL for a few years until an NHL center on the team that drafts him becomes a UFA. Rudolfs Berzkalns was the Muskegon Lumberjacks first round pick in the 2024 USHL Draft.
- Rudolfs Berzkalns has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, versatility, skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Rudolph Berzkalnsis can develop into a second line center on an NHL team down the road.
- The 6-3 205 lb Rudolfs Berzkalns had 5 goals, 3 assists, and 8 points, in 43 USHL games with the 2025 Clark Cup Champion Muskegeon Lumberacks as a rookie in 2024-2025. Rudolfs Berzkalns had 13 goals, 12 assists, 25 points, 39 penalty minutes, and a +7 +/- ratio in 48 USHL games with the Muskegeon Lumberjacks in 2025-2026. Rudolfs Berzkalns had 4 goals, 6 assists, and 10 points in 16 games during the 2026 USHL Playoffs. Rudolfs Berzkalns is heading to Boston College this Fall.
Nashville Predators: Mikey Berchild, C, USNTDP (USHL)
- That is exactly where Mikey Berchild potentially comes into play here as Mikey Berchild was picked first overall by the USNTDP in the 2024 USHL Draft as the United States Team Developmental Program owned the Omaha Lancers first round pick that year and took Berchild first overall in the 2024 USHL Draft.
- Leading up to the 2024 NHL Draft, Mikey Berchild was the defacto challenger to Gavin McKenna to be the first player picked in the 2026 NHL Draft. Then Viggio Bjorck jumped Berchild before Keaton Verhoeff and a bunch of other guys I mentioned jumped Berchild. Most NHL mock drafts had Mikey Berchild in the 18-22 range, but he's now outside of the top 100 on most boards. I think Nashville rolls the dice on him here and with their depth at center, he could convert to a winger role at first when he gets promoted to the NHL.
- Mikey Berchild has the speed, explosion, burst, versatility, agility, skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Mikey Berchild has the floor of a first line forward in the AHL and the ceiling of a second line forward in the NHL. That projects as a back six forward that could develop into a top six forward in the NHL. I think center is his best position, but if he goes to a team stacked with NHL centers, he probably moves to the wing.
- The 5-9 172 lb Mikey Berchild had 14 goals, 7 assists, 21 points, 20 penalty minutes, and a -7 +/- ratio in 34 USHL games on the United States National Team Developmental Program in 2024-2025. Mikey Berchild had 8 goals, 11 assists, and 19 points in 21 USHL games, but did imrpove his +/- ratio from -7 to +9 in 2025-2026. Mikey Berchild heads to Denver, the defending NCAA hockey Champoins this Fall.
Chicago Blackhawks: Simon Katolicky, LW, Tappara (SM Liiga)
- Simon Katolicky looked great in the film I saw, but despite playing in Finland he was born in the Czech Republic with one person calling him the best skater in the Czech Republic since Jaromir Jagr.
- Simon Katolicky has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, skating, playmaking, passing, shooting, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Simon Katolicky has the floor of a first line left winger in the AHL and ceiling of a second line left winger in the NHL making Simon Katolicky a guy that could play on the back six in the NHL and potentially develop into a second line left winger.
- The 6-4 198 lb Simon Katolicky had 24 goals, 28 assists, and 52 points in 30 games with the Tappara Under 18 Team as their first line left winger in 2024-2025. Simon Katolicky declined significantly this season with oly 6 goals, 11 assists, adn 17 points in 29 games with the Tappara Under 20 Team in 2025-2026 after dominating on the Tappara Under 18 Team. Simon Katolicky models his game after Matthew Tkachuk on the Florida Panthers.

Bruno Osmanis is a project, but he has potential to become a second line right winger in the NHL. Fabian Lysell hasn't lived up to the hype since being Boston's 2021 first round pick.
- The 5-11 172 lb Bruno Osmanis had 14 goals, 16 assists, and 30 points in 2025-2026. Bruno Osmanis will play aganst men in Sweden next season.

Boston Bruins: Alan Shaikhlislamov, RW, Salavat Yulaev Ufa (KHL)
- The Boston Bruins draft a right winger with potential to be a second line right winger to push their earlier fourth round pick. - Alan Shakhlislamov has the versatility, skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. Alan Shakhlislamov is a second line winger at left winger or right winger.

Montreal Canadiens: Max Isaksson, C, Vaxjo Lakers (Elitserien)
- The Montreal Canadiens get a center who may have the best hockey IQ and decision making of any player from a strategy standpoint in this draft. Max Isaksson won a chess tournament at a festival in Sweden when he was only 7. That explains why he was an alternate captain in his plus one draft year and a team captain in his draft year this past season.

San Jose Sharks: Brian McFadden, D, Thayer Academy HS (MA)
- The San Jose Sharks get a High School defender here. Brian McFadden is one of the three best High School players in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- Brian McFadden skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. This is a player with the ceiling to develop into a second line defenseman, but he's very raw think a poor mans Sam Rinzel at the end of the fourth round. He's also the final guy that could be a top four defenseman in the 2026 NHL Draft.
- The 6-5 183 lb Brian McFadden had 1 goals, 7 assists, and 8 points at Thayer Academy in 2024-2025. Brian McFadden had 2 goals, 15 assists, and 17 points in 29 games in 2025-2026.
