2026 MLS Mock Draft: Final Mock 3 Rounds
Round 2
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: December 18, 2025.
D.C. United: Kyle Durham, G, Connecticut
- D.C. United drafts a goalie in the second round. Kyle Durham is a goalie that started out at Pittsburgh in 2023 before transferring to Connecticut in 2024 where he sat behind Max Kirkvilet, Real Salt Lake's 2025 first round pick, who redshirted behind Jayden Hibbert, Atlanta United F.C.'s 2024 first round pick out of Connecticut. With Connecticut having first round goalies in back-to-back seasons there is a good chance Kyle Durham could sneak into the first round of the 2026 MLS Super Draft. If he's on the board in the second round, D.C. United should pull the trigger and draft him to be their new starting goalie.
- The 6-4 183 lb Kyle Durham plays the 1 at goalie at Connecticut. Kyle Durham had a 12-5-4 record, 24 goals allowed, a 1.14 goals against average, a .803 save percentage, 8 shutouts, has faced 302 shots, and led Connecticut to the 2025 Big East Championship where they lost to Georgetown before guiding Connecticut to the Sweet 16 where they lost to Maryland in the 2025 College Cup in 2025.
Inter Miami C.F.: Noah James, M, San Diego
- Inter Miami C.F. drafts a backup defensive midfielder to play behind Yannick Bright. Noah James makes a lot of sense here
- The 6-4 185 lb Noah James plays the the 6 at defensive midfielder and the 8 at central midfielder. Noah James had 2 goals, 4 assists, 8 points, helped San Diego record 9 shutouts even after losing his starting goalie in the 2025 MLS Super Draft, and helped San Diego win the 2025 WCC Conference Title game before San Diego lost to Grand Canyon in the round of 32 as a junior in 2025.
Previous Pick: Majaliwa Msabaha, M, Elon
Real Salt Lake: Patrick Cayelli, M, Penn
- Real Salt Lake uses this second round pick for CF Montreal to add a potential impact player to their prospect pool. One player I really like with both college and USL experience is Penn midfielder Patrick Cayelli.
- The 5-10 150 lb Patrick Cayelli had 9 goals, 8 assists, 26 points, and has helped the Penn Quakers record 9 shutouts at midfielder in 2025. Patrick Cayelli has the versatility to play the 6 at defensive midfielder, the 8 at central midfielder, and the 10 at attacking midfielder. I believe Cayelli is an excellent candidate to get picked in the second round.
Sporting Kansas City: Jesus De Vicente, D, Virginia
- Sporting Kansas City has needs a attacking midfielder, right winger, left back, and a right back. Addressing all of these needs in Free Agency and the 2026 MLS Super Draft is critical before Sporting Kansas City contends. One player that could bring stability to Sporting Kansas City's backline is Virginia defender Jesus De Vicente.
- The 5-11 164 lb Jesus De Vicente plays the 2 at left back for two different schools at UIC and Virginia. Jesus De Vicente posted 4 goals, 10 asists, and 18 poitns as a freshman at UIC in 2023. Jesus De Vicente posted 1 goal, 4 assists, and 6 points at UIC in 2024. Jesus De Vicente had 1 goal, 7 assists, 9 points, and helped Virginia record 8 shutouts in 2025.
Previous Pick: Nick Lockermann, D, Vermont
Los Angeles Galaxy: Blake D'Agostino, F, California Baptist
- The Los Angeles Galaxy run a 4-3-3 formation. The Los Angeles Galaxy have Joseph Paintsil playing the 11 at left winger who led the Los Angeles Galaxy with 11 goals whose under contract until 2027, Gabriel Pec playing the 9 at striker with 6 goals, 9 assists, and is under contract until 2028, and Marco Reus playing the 7 at right winger with 9 assists as Reus has a contract that runs through next season as Reus transitioned from right midfielder to right winger in 2025. Left midfielder Riqui Puig can play the 10 at attacking midfielder when he returns from a season ending injury next year. Edwin Cerrillo can play either the 6 at defensive midfielder or the 8 at central midfielder, but transitioned from the 8 to the 6 after playing the 8 on the Los Angeles Galaxy's 2024 MLS Cup team and is under contract until 2026. Elijah Wyder plays the 8 at central midfielder and is under contract until 2027. John Nelson plays the 2 at left back and is under contract until 2026. Jakob Glesnes plays the 4 at sweeper and Maya Yoshida now plays the 5 at center back with Zanka for depth at center back and is under contract until 2026. Miki Yamane plays the 3 at right back and is under contract until 2026. Novak Micovic plays the 1 at goalie and is under contract until 2026.
- The Los Angeles Galaxy have a better starting 11 than advertised despite the turnover when everyone is healthy. From what I am hearing, it sounds like the Los Angeles Galaxy will take the best striker or midfielder on the board. I gave the Los Angeles Galaxy the best striker on the board with Blake D'Agostino of Cal Bapstist.
- The 6-2 190 lb Blake D'Agostino had 10 goals, 2 assists, 22 points, helped Cal Bapist record 4 shutouts, and was the 2025 WAC Defensive Player Of The Year. Blake D'Agostino also got invited to the 2025 MLS College Showcase.
Previous Pick: Mitchell Baker, F, Georgetown
Toronto F.C.: Nikos Clarke-Tosczak, D, Portland
- Toronto F.C. has one bright spot at goalie with Luka Gavran their 2022 second round pick drafted out of Saint John's. Toronto F.C. did sign Walker Zimmerman to play the 4 at sweeper. Nikos Clarke-Tosczak makes a lot of sense for Toronto F.C. here in the second round as the Edmonton, Alberta native began his college career at Rhode Island before transferring to Porland in 2025.
- The 5-10 158 lb Nikos Clarke-Tosczak plays the 2 at left back. Nikos Clarke-Tosczak had 0 goals, 4 assists, 4 points, and helped Portland record 9 shutouts in 2025.
Previous Pick: Daniel D'Ippolito, M, Fordham
St. Louis City SC: Sebastian Conlon, G, Kentucky
- Dorian Drucks was not on the final MLS Draft eligible list. My next best goalie available is Kentucky goalie Sebastian Conlon.
- The 6-2 180 lb Sebastian Conlon had 18 goals allowed, a 0.93 goals against average, 56 saves, a .757 save percentage, a 10-4-5 record, and 8 shutouts in 19 starts playing 1,743 minutes with Kentucky in 2025. Sebasitan Conlon was James Madison's goalie before transferring to Kentucky in 2025.
- St. Louis City SC loses both their backup and third string goalies. The 2026 MLS Super Draft has as many as nine goalies that could get drafted in the top 50 and six of those goalies are already off the board with five getting drafted in the first round and the sixth goalie getting picked at the top of the second round. Sebastian Conlon makes a lot of sense here.
Previous Pick: Dorian Drucks, G, Cal State Northridge
New England Revoultion: Marqes Muir, M, Kentucky
- New England drafts someone that can play the 6 at defensive midfielder to take pressure off of the back line in the second round. Marqes Muir may be the top defensive midfielder in this draft.
- The 6-1 190 lb Marqes Muir plays the 4 at sweeper, the 5 at center back, and the 6 at defensive midfielder with his versatility. Midfielder is Marqes Muir's favorite position, so he will play the 6 at defensive midfielder in the MLS.
- Marqes Muir started as a freshman. He did so well he got promoted to team captain on Kentucky as a true sophomore in 2024. Marqes Muir had 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, and has helped Kentucky record 8 shutouts before Kentucky lost in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Semifinals to Central Florida as a junior in 2025.
Houston Dynamo F.C.: Zach Ramsey, M, Washington
- Houston runs a 4-3-3 formation. Houston Dynamo F.C. has Ezequiel Ponce who scored 10 goals in 2025 playing the 9 at striker as Ponce is under contract until 2027. Lawrence Ennali plays the 11 at left winger. Artur plays the 6 at defensive midfielder and is under contract for next season. Erik Sviatchenko plays the 4 at sweeper, Carlos plays the 5 at center back, and Griff Dorsey plays the 3 at right back. Jonathan Bond plays the 1 at goalie.
- Houston Dynamo F.C. has a 21-year-old right winger that they can move to the 7 if their current starting right winger leaves. They also have a backup goalie that is 23-years-old. This leaves central midfielder and attacking midfielder as the lone needs.
- Houston Dynamo F.C. gets a midfielder for depth. Zach Ramsey can play the 8 at central midfielder, the 9 at striker, and the 10 at attacking midfielder.
- The 5-10 155 lb Zach Ramsey had 8 goals, 8 assists, 24 points, and helped Washington record 9 shutouts in 2025. Zach Ramsey lined up playing the 10 at attacking midfielder in the Semifinals of the 2025 College Cup.
Previous Pick: Philip Naef, M, UCLA
Colorado Rapids: Sadam Masereka, F, Maryland
- Colorado can draft for value over need here in the second round. Sadam Maserka can play the 7 at right winger, the 9 at striker, or the 11 at left winger. He also was one of Maryland's leaders in generating goals this season.
- The 5-9 150 lb Sadam Maserka had 9 goals, 5 assists, and 23 points in 2025. Maryland made the Elite 8 before they lost to Washington. Sadam Masereka also got an invite to the 2025 MLS College Showcase, so he's probably done enough to be drafted this year.
Previous Pick: Nacho Abeal, F, North Carolina
San Jose Earthquakes: Wahabu Musah, F, Clemson
- San Jose goes for value here. Clemson forward Wahabu Musah has the versatility to play the 7 at right winger, the 9 at striker, and the 11 at left winger.
- The 6-0 133 lb Wahabu Musah had 6 goals, 0 assists, and 12 points in 2025. Wahabu Musah is a project, but his upside is huge with some believing he has first round potential. San Jose can stash and develop this Clemson forward.
Previous Pick: Alex Ruiz, M, Kentucky
Real Salt Lake: Tyler Caton, M, North Carolina State
- I gave Real Salt Lake a striker and left winger with their first two picks. I am giving Real Salt Lake a central midfielder here in the second round.
- The 5-11 165 lb Tyler Caton plays the 8 at central midfielder. Tyler Caton had 1 goal, 6 assists, 8 points, and helped North Carolina State record 13 shutouts helping North Carolina State get to the Championship Game in the 2025 College Cup before Washington defeated North Carolina State in overtime. He can be used at the 6 as well as the 8, but central midfielder is his main role with defensive midfielder being his secondary position.
Orlando City S.C.: Julian Le Bourdoulous, M, UNC Greensboro
- Orlando City S.C. gambles on Julian Le Bourdoulous in the second round. This is a guy that dominated on the Kansas City Roos in 2024, but struggled once transferring to UNC Greensboro. Some believe he's a top 25 talent despite the down year in 2025.
- The 5-7 155 lb Julian Le Bourdoulous had 1 goal, 12 assists, and 14 points on Kansas City playing the 10 at attacking midfielder in 2024. Julian Le Bourdoulous has 2 goals, 4 assists, and 8 points in 13 starts with UNC Greensboro in 2025.
Sporting Kansas City: Daniel D'Ippolito, M, Fordham
- Sporting Kansas City drafts their midfielder of the future. Daniel D'Ippolito is a bargain at this point in the second round. Daniel D'Ippolito was once projected to go as high as second overall back in the preseason after winning Atlantic 10 Midfielder Of The Year in 2024. Sporting Kansas City can gamble on the Fordham midfielder here.
- The 5-11 170 lb Daniel D'Ippolito had 14 goals, 7 assists, and 35 points as a junior winning 2024 Atlantic 10 Midfielder Of The Year in 2024. Daniel D'Ippolito had 6 goals, 9 assists, 21 points, and won 2025 Atlantic 10 Midfielder Of The Year once again for the second year in a row while also being the Atlantic 10 Player Of The Year in 2025.
Previous Pick: Dren Dobruna, D, Dayton
Portland Timbers: Abdel Talabi, D, Bryant
- Portland gets a defender that can play the 4 at sweeper as well as the 5 at center back. That is exactly what Abdel Talabi brings to the table.
- The 6-2 185 lb Abdel Talabi has 3 goals, 2 assists, 8 points, and helped Bryant record 11 shutouts while helping Bryant get to the Sweet 16 in the 2025 College Cup in 2025. Abdel Talabi is a force on defense as he possesses superb athleticism as well.
CF Montreal: Angel Iniguez, M, San Jose State
- CF Montreal runs a 4-3-3 formation. Prince Owusu at striker and Fabian Herbers are the only good forwards that CF Montreal has. CF Montreal also added Brayan Vera to play the 4 at sweeper.
- CF Montreal drafts a midfielder here. One midfielder with excellent second round value is San Jose State midfielder Angel Iniguez.
- The 5-6 160 lb Angel Iniguez plays the 10 at attacking midfielder. Angel Iniguez had 10 goals, 7 assists, and 27 points on San Jose State in 2024. Angel Iniguez had 9 goals, 7 assists, and 25 points on San Jose State in 2025.
Austin FC: Joe Highfield, F, Portland
- Austin F.C. gets their striker of the future here. Portland forward Joe Highfield has been terrfic playing the 9 at striker for Portland in 2025.
- The 6-4 185 lb Joe Highfield had 11 goals, 5 assists, and 27 points as a sophomore redshirt as Joe Highfield guided Portland to the Elite 8 in the 2025 College Cup in 2025. Joe Highfield may be considered a true junior by some since junior redshirts that enter the MLS Super Draft are considered true seniors by some.
Real Salt Lake: Nick Lockermann, D, Vermont
- Real Salt Lake drafts the best player on the board. At this point that is a center back for depth on Vermont named Nick Lockermann.
- The 5-11 175 lb Nick Lockermann can play the 2 at left back, the 3 at right back, the 4 at sweeper, the 5 at center back, the 6 at defensive midfielder, the 8 at central midfielder, and the 10 at attacking midfielder with his versatility. Nick Lockermann was the 2023 American East Freshman Of The Year before suffering a season ending injury in 2024 when Vermont won the 2024 College Cup. Nick Lockermann bounced back with 2 goals, 2 assists, 6 points, and helped Vermont record 9 shutouts winning the 2025 American East Defender Of The Year Award. Nick Lockermann did get injured in the Semifinals against New Hampshire and missed the 2025 American East Championship Game as well as the round of 32 loss to Hofstra.
Previous Pick: Aidan Kelly, D, Massachusetts
Columbus Crew: Zack Lillington, D, UC Davis
- The Columbus Crew ran a 4-4-2 formation in their final game in the 2025 MLS Playoffs which involves four defenders, four midfielders, and two strikers. This was the last chance for the 2023 MLS Cup Champions to make another run.
- Columbus used their double digit goal scorer Diego Rossi as the main striker playing the 9 and Hugo Picard a 22-year-old as the secondary striker. Both of them will be back next season.
- Daniel Gazdag plays the 10 at attacking midfielder. Sean Zawadzki can play the 8 at centeral midfielder or the 7 at right winger depending on where you line him up. He plays the 8 in a three midfielder set and the 7 in a four midfielder formation. Columbus loses their left winger at the 11 to Free Agency and their team captain Darlington Nagbe who played the 6 at defensive midfielder is retiring. Max Arfsten can take over at the 11 at left winger next year.
- Yevgen Cherberko plays the 2 at left back and he's back until at least June of 2026. Malte Amundsen plays the 4 at sweeper. Columbus loses Steven Moreiera who can play the 5 at center back as well as the 3 at right back. as well as Lassi Lappalianen who transitioned from the 11 at left winger to the 3 at right back. Andres Herrera came of the bench, but it is safe to say he will probably start at the 3 at right back next season.
- Columbus has Patrick Schulte playing the 1 at goalie as Patrick Schulte will enter year 4 as a starting goalie next year. Evan Bush returned on a one year deal as the backup goalie to Patrick Schulte. Nicholas Hagen is back as the MLS Next Goalie developing. Stanislav Lapkes is a 19-year-old goalie that can get MLS Next minutes as a backup next year.
- The strategy for Columbus in the second round is fairly simple. Draft the best center back on the board with this pick in the second round.
- The 6-4 191 lb Zack Lillington had 3 goals, 3 assists, 9 points, and helped UC Davis record 3 shutouts in 2025. Zack Lillington accepted an invite to the 2025 MLS College Showcase.
Previous Pick: Leandro Haesler, D, Lindenwood
Nashville S.C.: Jack Jasinski, D, Princeton
- Nashville S.C. runs a 4-3-3 formation with four defensemen, three midfielders, and three forwards. Nashville has Jacob Shaffelburg playing the 11 at left winger, Sam Surridge plays the 9 at striker as he doubled his goal total from 12 in 2024 to 24 in 2025, and Hany Muhktar can play both the 7 at right winger in a thre forward or the 10 at attacking midfielder in a four midfielder formation as Hany Mukhtar had 16 goals and 12 assists in 2025.
- Patrick Yazbek plays the 8 at central midfielder lining up at a left midfielder. Edvard Tagseth also plays the 8 at central midfielder. Bryan Acosta plays the 8 at central midfielder playing right midfielder.
- Daniel Lovitz plays the 2 at left back. Thomas Williams plays the 4 at sweeper, Jeisson Palacios plays the 5 at center back, and Andy Najar plays the 3 at right back. Nashville S.C. also has Josh Bauer, Jack Maher their second overall pick in the 2020 MLS Super Draft at center back, and Wyatt Meyer their 2024 first round pick at center back.
- Joe Willis plays the 1 at goalie and Xavier Valdez replaced Elliott Panicco Nashville's second 2020 first round pick as the backup goalie.
- Nashville S.C. drafts a right back for depth behind Andy Najar. Jack Jasinski makes a lot of sense here. Jack Jasinski plays the 3 at right back for Princeton and he's a former Philadelphia Union Academy player that did not sign with the Philadelphia Union.
- The 6-2 195 lb Jack Jasinski had 3 goals, 6 assists, 12 points, and helped Princeton record 10 shutouts in 2025. Jack Jasinski could be a solid right back for depth on the right MLS team.
Previous Pick: Sebastian Conlon, G, Kentucky
Seattle Sounders: Calle Mollerberg, D, UC Santa Barbara
- Seattle ran multiple formations during the 2025 MLS Playoffs. The most common formation they ran was a 4-2-3-1 formation with four defensemen, two central midfielders that play box-to-box with offensive responsibilities as well as defensive responsibilities, 3 midfielders with a left winger, attacking midfielder that generates assists, along with a right winger, and 1 striker.
- Seattle has Danny Musovski playing the 9 at striker. Danny Musovski had 14 goals and 4 assists in 2025. Danny Musovski's contract expires, but he has a club option to return to the Seattle Sounders.
- Ryan Kent plays the 11 at left winger as Ryan Kent does have a club option to return in 2026 after hsi contract expires. Albert Rusnak plays the 10 at attacking midfielder and had 11 goals and 10 assissts in 2025 with Albert Rusnak entering a contract year next year with a club option for 2027. Jordan Morris plays the 7 at right winger and his contact runs through 2027, but has no club option attached to it. Jesus Ferreia who Seattle traded a 2026 first round pick to get is the backup striker as well as the backup winger for depth.
- Obed Vargas and Christian Roldan both play the 8 at central midfielder. Obed Vergas has a one year club option for 2026. Christian Roldan, Seattle's 2015 first round pick is under contract with Seattle until 2027. Danny Leyva plays the 6 at defensive midfielder and the 22-year-old defensive midfielder has a club option for 2027 after his contract expires. Seattle plays Leyva off the bench when they have a lead. Joao Paulo is a backup central midfielder for depth and he has a club option for next season.
- Georgi Minoungou transitioned from the 7 at right winger to the 2 at left back as the 23-year-old Georgi Minoungou is under contract until 2028 with a club option. Jackson Ragen plays the 4 at sweeper as the main center back with a contract that runs through 2027 with a club option to keep him under contract until 2028. Osaze De Rosario transitioned from the 9 at striker to the 5 at center back giving Seattle a quality center back next to Jackson Ragen. Alex Roldan the younger brother of Christian Rolan plays the 3 at right back and was Seattle's 2018 first round pick. The backup left back Nouhou Tolo also has a club option for 2026 despite his contract being up. Yeimar Gomez Andrade the backup center back has a club option. Jon Bell will be gone, but former Penn midfielder Leo Burney, a homegrown player that was on the Seattle Sounders is expected to replace Jon Bell as the fourth center back. Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Seattle's 2024 first round pick out of Washington plays the 3 as the backup right back.
- Seattle started Stefan Frei most of the year as he is back playing the 1 as the starting goalie. Seattle does have two younger homegrown goalies in former Stanford goalie Andrew Thomas and former San Diego State goalie Jacob Castro. Andrew Thomas started over Stefan Frei in this years 2025 MLS Playoffs and Jacob Castro has developed enough to where he can be the backup to Andrew Thomas if Seattle moves on from long-time starting goalie Stefan Frei.
- The 6-3 190 lb Calle Mollerberg had 1 goal, 0 assists, and helped UC Santa Barbara record 9 shutouts in 2025 after Manu Duah left UC Santa Barbara to be drafted first overall in the 2025 MLS Super Draft. Calle Mollerberg played 1,627 minutes as a true freshman in 2024 and Calle Mollerberg had 1,709 minutes played as a sophomore in 2025.
Charlotte FC: Taig Healy, M, North Carolina State
- Charlotte FC gets a depth piece with this second round pick. The best player on the board is Taig Haly.
- The 5-7 145 lb Taig Healy had 5 goals, 8 assists, 18 points, and has helped North Carolina State record 14 shutouts guiding North Carolina State to the Championship Game of the 2025 College Cup in 2025. Taig Healy can play the 6 at defensive midfielder, the 7 at right winger, the 8 at central midfielder, the 10 at attacking midfielder, and the 11 at left winger. Taig Healy may smaller than most midfielders, but he makes up for it with his shiftieness as well as his craftiness as Taig Healy is a swiss army knife on the pitch with his versatility as Healy is a big reason why North Carolina State made the Championship Game of the 2025 College Cup before losing to Washington in overtime.
Minnesota United F.C.: Jefferson Amaya, M, High Point
- Minnesota United F.C. drafts a central midfielder here in the second round. I gave Minnesota United F.C. Daniel Lugo in the first round, but now Minnesota United F.C. gets Daniel Lugo's teammate from High Point in the second round. Jefferson Amaya is a player that has been on my radar for four years as my friend in France Florian told me about Amaya during his freshman season.
- The 6-1 175 lb Jefferson Amaya can play the 6 at defensive midfieler, the 8 at central midfielder, or the 10 at attacking midfielder. Jefferson Amaya had 5 goals, 4 assists, 14 points, and 8 shutouts as a freshman in 2022. Jefferson Amaya improved on that with 5 goals, 6 assists, 16 points, and helped High Point post 7 shutouts as a sophomore in 2023. Jefferson Amaya only posted 3 goals, 6 assists, 12 points, and helped High Point post 6 shutouts as a junior in 2024. Jefferson Amaya has 3 goals, 4 assists, 10 points, has helped High Point record 10 shutouts, won 2025 Big South Midfielder Of The Year, helped High Point win the 2025 Big South Tournament, and has High Point in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 College Cup for the first time in school history.
Inter Miami C.F.: Lukas Kamrath, D, High Point
- LAFC gave Inter Miami C.F. this 2026 second round pick when they traded up to draft Massachusetts striker Alec Hughes in the first round of the 2025 MLS Super Draft. Inter Miami C.F. another center back for depth.
- The 6-4 200 lb Lukas Kamrath has 3 goals, 1 assist, 7 points, and helped High Point record 10 shutouts 2025. Lukas Kamrath was the Big South Defender Of The Year in 2025.
Previous Pick: Jack Roman, M, Akron
FC Cincinnati: Casper Svensby, D, Pittsburgh
- FC Cincinnati runs a 3-5-2 formation. FC Cincinnati has all 11 starters back next year.
- FC Cincinnati has Kevin Denkey playing the 9 at striker who had 15 goals in 2025 and their defensive midfielder at the 6 Obinna Nwobodo is the secondary striker. Kevin Denkey is under contract untl 2028 with a club option for 2029 and Obinna Nwobodo is under contract until 2027 with a club option for 2028. Kei Kamara and Brenner are the two backup strikers and both of them have club options for 2026. Ayaub Jabbari is a third string striker who has a buyout option.
- Luca Orellano can play the 11 at left winger or the 7 at right winger as FC Cincinati's left winger is only 25 and is under contract until 2029. Samuel Gidi plays the 8 at central midfielder, and the 21-year-old is under contract until 2028. Evander plays the 10 at attacking midfielder as he led FC Cincinnati with 18 goals and 15 assists in 2025. Evander is under contract until 2027 with a club option until 2028. Pavel Bucha plays the 8 at central midfielder and has a contract that runs trhough 2026 with a club option for 2027 as Pavel Bucha finished second on FC Cincinnati with 7 assists in 2025. Alvas Powell has transitioned from the 3 at right back to the 7 at right winger. Alvas Powell has a club option to return to FC Cincinnati in 2026. Lukas Engel gves you depth at left winger and he has an option to return or be bought out. Brian Anunga is the backup central midfielder for depth with a contract that runs through 2026. Gerardo Valenzuela is the backup attacking midfielder behind Evander under contract until 2026 with a club option. Ender Echenique is the backup right winger for depth.
- FC Cincinnati has Teenage Hadebe playing the 2 at left back. He's filling in that role for an injured Brad Smith, but FC Cincinnati can use a club option on either left back. Miles Robinson plays the 5 at center back. He can play the 4 at sweeper. Matt Miazga also has a club option for 2026 if he comes back as either a complimentary center back next to Miles Robinson or maybe he ends up playing next to Robinson in a four defender set. Nick Hagglund plays the 3 at right back and his contract runs through 2027, but he has no club option at the moment. Gilberto Flores is the current backup to Matt Hagglund.
- Roman Celentano plays the 1 at goalie. FC Cincinnati's 2022 first round pick out of Indiana was the draft pick that FC Cincinnati hit on to turn this rebuild around. Evan Lauro the backup goalie has an expiring contract, but he has a club option for 2026. Paul Walters the former Northwestern goalie signed a homegrown contract with FC Cincinnati, but is developing in MLS Next. FC Cincinnati also traded their third round pick to D.C. United for Nate Crockford.
- There are only two players in FC Cincinnati's starting lineup that do not have club options. Those two players are starting goalie Roman Celentanoand starting right back Nick Hagglund. Both are UFAs after the 2027-2028 MLS Season. I have to believe Roman Celentano gets locked up if FC Cincinnati wins an MLS Cup in 2025 or 2026. I took Inter Miami C.F. over LAFC for my 2025 MLS Cup Prediction, but am leaning FC Cincinnati over the Seattle Sounders for 2026.
- Assuming Roman Celentano gets brought back. That leaves right back as the defacto position to address for FC Cincinnati. The only right back on the board is the 2024 ACC Defender Of The Year Casper Svensby who struggled in 2025 due to injuries, but entered the preseason as a top 5 prospect.
- The 5-10 170 lb Casper Svendby is an ideal fullback to add for depth. This is a player you can either bring up as a backup fullback or you can stash and develop him in the MLS Next since Casper Svensby has the versatility to play both the 2 at left back and the 3 at right back. He went from helping Dayton post 4 shutouts in 2023 to helping Pittsburgh record 7 shutouts in 2024. Casper Svensby did get a shutout against Clemson in the 2025 ACC Tournament, but he came off the bench that game and only played in 4 of the 5 shutouts Pittsburgh recorded in 2025 starting in 3 of those games due to his injury at the beginning of the year.
Colorado Rapids: Mamadou Diarra, F, Florida Atlantic
- Colorado drafts the best player on the board to stash and develop. Mamadou Diarra was the American Conference Player Of The Year two years in a row in 2024 and 2025. I know the Colorado Rapids are already loaded with striker prospects like Alex Harris and Donovan Philip, bu the value is simply too great to ignore.
- The 5-10 180 lb Mamadou Diarra had 8 goals, 8 assists, and 24 points as a junior on Florida Atlantic in 2024. Mamadou Diarra has 8 goals, 6 assists, and 22 points leading Florida Atlantic to a 2025 American Conference Championship.
New York City F.C.: Jaylen Yearwood, D, North Florida
- Historically speaking a wing back is a better scheme fit for a defense like a 5-4-1. One of the best wing backs in college soccer that could be available in the second round is North Florida wing back Jaylen Yearwood.
- The 6-0 165 lb Jaylen Yearwood has the versatility to play the 2 at left back, the 3 at right back, the 4 at sweeper, the 5 at center back, the 6 at defensive midfielder, the 7 at right winger, the 8 at central midfielder, the 10 at attacking midfielder, and the 11 at left winger. Jaylen Yearwood had 1 goal, 6 assists, 8 points, helped North Florida record 9 shutouts, and helped North Florida win the 2025 Altantic Sun Conference Tournament to get to the 2025 College Cup as a senior in 2025.
- Jaylen Yearwood talks about always working hard and never settling for anything in life. He mentions how you constantly have to keep improving if you want to achieve goals in life. Not only is this soccer player versatile enough to play anywhere outside of striker, he's got a fantastic attitude as well as a top notch outlook on life. He also had a 3.76 GPA in High School and managed to improve that once he got to North Florida. Some players have red flags and red lights with attitudes. This young man has a green flag or a green light for character which is a positive as far as I'm concerned. I got Jaylen Yearwood in the second round, but if North Florida upsets North Carolina in the 2025 College Cup, this is a man who could possibly get first round consideration. North Florida led North Carolina, but lost to North Carolina in penalty kicks.
San Diego FC: Nolan Spicer, M, Notre Dame
- San Diego FC gets an attacking midfielder here for insurance just in case Onni Valarki does not return. Nolan Spicer is a great option here.
- The 5-8 150 lb Nolan Spicer had 2 goals, 7 assists, 11 points, and has helped Notre record 4 shutouts as a junior in 2025. Nolan Spicer can play the 9 at striker, the 10 at attacking midfielder, and the 11 at left winger with his versatility. He was a secondary striker next to Matthew Roou in the 2023 College Cup during his freshman season when he only started 6 games. Nolan Spicer has been a regular starter on Notre Dame the last two years and gives San Diego a future left winger or attacking midfielder to develop.
Previous Pick: Stefano Campisi, M, Hofstra
Vancouver Whitecaps: Nolan Miller, D, Michigan
- The 6-2 188 lb Nolan Miller can play the 4 at sweeper or the 5 at center back. Nolan Miller had 2 goals, 2 assists, and helped Michigan record 9 shutouts in 2025. Vancouver drafts Nolan Miller as a center back to stash an develop for depth.
Previous Pick: Nolan Spicer, M, Notre Dame
Inter Miami C.F.: Austn Brummett, F, Connecticut
- Inter Miami C.F. gets a striker to stash and develop as a potential successor to Luis Suarez with this final second round pick. Insurance will be needed if Luis Suarez does end up leaving. Even if Suarez sticks around, drafting his successor feels paramount.
- The 6-0 195 lb Austin Brummett started out at San Diego State, but transferred to Connecticut where he now plays the 9 at striker for the Connecticut Huskies. Austin Brummett had 10 goals, 4 assists, and 24 points for Connecticut in 2025.
