2017 NHL Mock Draft Final Mock: 7 Rounds

Round 4

Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: June 23, 2017.

  1. Colorado Avalanche: David Farrance, D, USNTDP (USHL)

Colorado gets a defender to start the fourth round. David Farrance has late second to early third round tape and is a steal at this point in the fourth round.

  2. Vancouver Canucks: James Malm, LW, Vancouver Giants (WHL)

James Malm has very good tape for Vancouver. Malm may not have the best production, but he's intriguing enough to develop at this point since all the intangibles are there on tape.

  3. Vegas Golden Knights: Sasha Chmelvski, C, Ottawa 67s (OHL)

The 6-0 187 lb Sasha Chmelvski has experience with both the Sarnia Sting and Ottawa 67s. Chmelsvski still needs to develop some, but the potential is there down the road.

  4. Minnesota Wild: Lane Zablocki, RW, Red Deer Rebels (WHL)

Minnesota drafts a right winer here. Lane Zablocki is a project, but has outstanding ability as a right winger down the road.

  5. New Jersey Devils: Jesse Kosenkorva, RW, Oulun Karpat (SM Liiga)

Jesse Kosenkorva has the versatility to play left wing, center or right wing. Kosenkorva could go anywhere between the second and fourth round so he's a great value pick at this point.

  6. Buffalo Sabres: Cale Fleury, D, Kootenay Ice (WHL)

The Buffalo Sabres draft the top player available at this pick. Cale Fleury is the little brother of 2014 first round pick Haydn Fleury.

  7. Detroit Red Wings: Fabian Zetterlund, RW, Farjestads B.K. (Elitserien)

Detroit drafts a right winger for depth. Fabian Zetterlund is the best player available at this point.

  8. Dallas Stars: Austen Keating, LW, Ottawa 67s (OHL)

The 6-0 170 lb Austen Keating is sharp on offense. His defensive game needs some work and he may end up being an AHL Player at best. He's still the best player on the board at this point though.

  9. New York Rangers: Tommy Miller, D, USNTDP (USHL)

The Rangers get another defenseman on the blue line. Tommy Miller played with David Farrance in the USHL.

  10. Los Angeles Kings: Maxim Sushko, RW, Owen Sound Attack (OHL)

The Kings get a winger. Maxim Sushko has a good flick with his wrist and can execute wrist shots or slap shots on tape.

  11. Carolina Hurricanes: Nate Knoepke, D, USNTDP (USHL)

Carolina gets a developmental prospect. Nate Knoepke is a developmental defenseman that Carolina can add.

  12. Winnipeg Jets: Alexander Texier, C, Grenoble (Magnus)

Winnipeg gets a center for depth. Alexander Texier is a bit of an unknown. He's a huge hockey star over in France in the Magnus league though and has third round potential so he comes off the board here.

  13. Philadelphia Flyers: Dylan Samberg, D, Waterloo Blackhawks (USHL)

Dylan Samberg has hardly any experience in the USHL. Samberg could go anywhere between the third and fifth round. The captain of Hermantown High School did so well that he got on the Waterloo Blackhawks where he played with Shane Bowers on Waterloo's top line. He's a good future prospect for Philadelphia's AHL team to develop in a few years after he goes to College though.

  14. Philadelphia Flyers: Tyler Inamoto, D, USNTDP (USHL)

Tyler Inamoto gives the Philadelphia Flyers another future AHL defenseman. Some consider Inamoto a top 100 talent so Philadelphia can take the best player on the board here.

  15. Philadelphia Flyers: Kyle Olson, C, Tri-City Americans (WHL)

The Flyers draft Kyle Olson here. Olson is versatile enough to play left wing, center, or right wing with his versatility.

  16. Calgary Flames: Radim Salda, D, HC Mountfield Ceske Budejovice (Extraliga)

Radim Salda plays with a lot of intensity. Salda could be a future stud in the AHL.

  17. Toronto Maple Leafs: Jacob Pacquette, D, Kingston Frontenacs (OHL)

Jacob Pacquette is the top player on the board. Toronto adds him continuing to add building blocks to the blue line.

  18. Boston Bruins: Markus Phillips, D, Owen Sound Attack (OHL)

The 5-11 207 lb Markus Phillips is a project two-way defenseman. He'd be a great future addition to the Providence Bruins in the AHL.

  19. Vancouver Canucks: Joel Teasdale, LW, Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL)

Joel Teasdale is projected to go a round earlier than this. Teasdale is a huge steal at this point in the fourth round.

  20. St. Louis Blues: Jordan Hollett, G, Regina Pats (WHL)

I have yet to mock a goalie in the fourth round. Jordan Hollett is a late third round prospect on tape and makes a great fit for the Blues here in the fourth round.

  21. Colorado Avalanche: Eemeli Rasanen, D, Kingston Frontenacs (OHL)

The 6-5 215 lb Eemeli Rasanen has good two way ability. He's a solid addition for Colorado here.

  22. Edmonton Oilers: Mark Rubinchik, D, Saskatoon Blades (WHL)

Edmonton drafts another defender. Mark Rubinchik is one of the top prospects on Saskatoon eligible for the 2017 NHL Draft.

  23. Minnesota Wild: Isaac Johnson, LW, Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL)

Isaac Johnson is one of the best goal scorers on Des Moines. He's a future player for the Iowa Wild in the AHL.

  24. Columbus Blue Jackets: Filip Westerlund, D, Frolunda Indians (Elitserien)

Columbus gets a defenseman here. Filip Westerlund is one of the better defensive defenseman in the 2017 NHL Draft.

  25. Los Angeles Kings: Ben Mirageas, D, Bloomington Thunder (USHL)

The Kings get Ben Mireageas here. Mirageas is a third to fourth round prospect that provides excellent value here.

  26. Chicago Blackhawks: Ivan Chekhovich, LW, Baie-Comeau Drakkar (QMJHL)

Chicago adds a future winger to develop. Ivan Chekhovich could have been picked a little bit earlier than this. Chekhovich is known for his stick handling and vision.

  27. Washington Capitals: Brady Gilmour, C, Saginaw Spirit (OHL)

Washington grabs a center for depth. Brady Gilmour provides an awesome value pick here.

  28. Ottawa Senators: Ryan Peckford, C, Victoria Royals (WHL)
Ryan Peckford may have been a third round pick had it not been for injuries. Peckford provides awesome value at this point.

  29. Anaheim Ducks: Walter Flower, D, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Walter Flower played next to Jocktain Chainey. Flower is an awesome value pick this late in the fourth round.

  30. San Jose Sharks: Jacob Christiansen, D, Everett Silvertips (WHL)

Everett does an awesome job developing defenseman for the NHL. Jacob Christiansen is the next Silvertips player in line for the NHL.

  31. Toronto Maple Leafs: Kaden Fulcher, G, Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)

Kaden Fulcher would be a good goalie for Toronto to develop. He could be a future starter on the Toronto Marlies in the AHL in two years.
