Jason Bantle's 2017 NFL Mock Draft: Final Mock 3 Rounds

Round 2

Jason Bantle follow @jasonwbantle Last Updated: April 26, 2017.

  1. San Francisco 49ers: Reuben Foster, MLB, Alabama

The 49ers use this pick in the trade they got with Cleveland here. San Francisco pounces on Foster with him dropping to 34.

Previous Pick: Budda Baker, SS, Washington

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan

The San Francisco may draft another safety early. The 49ers tend to take safeties early in the draft every year.

Previous Pick: Obi Melifonwu, CB, Connecticut

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Cam Robinson, LG, Alabama

Branden Albert cannot stay healthy. Cam Robinson is a great insurance policy at this point as a future left tackle plus the Jaguars can start Robinson out as a left guard.

Previous Pick: Garrett Bolles, RT, Utah

  4. Chicago Bears: DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame

Chicago is moving on from Jay Cutler. I had Kizer at 3 in my last mock and he's still on the board at 36 here.

  5. Los Angeles Rams: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

Goff needs a wide receiver that can be his go-to-guy. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a first round talent, but will be a huge steal for someone in the second round.

  6. Los Angeles Chargers: Davis Webb, QB, California

Los Angeles drafts their quarterback of the future. The Los Angeles Rams got Jared Goff out of Cal and now the Los Angeles Chargers get Davis Webb out of Cal.

  7. New York Jets: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State

The Jets need a cornerback. Hard to see Conley slipping out of the top 40 unless more evidence about his situation is leaked in the next 24 hours.

Previous Pick: Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State

  8. Carolina Panthers: Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

Carolina gets a cornerback here. They worked out Chidobe Awuzie, so he's the pick here.

Previous Pick: Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma

Cincinnati drafts Joe Mixon here. Cincinnati will take a running back at some point in this draft when the value is right. Joe Mixon at 41 is great value for the Bengals here.

Previous Pick: Tarell Basham, RE, Ohio

  10. New Orleans Saints: Carlos Henderson, WR, Louisiana Tech

The Saints get a wide receiver here. The local Carlos Henderson can replace Brandin Cooks here at 42.

  11. Philadelphia Eagles: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington

The Eagles take Cooper Kupp here. The Eagles are rumored to have Kupp as their top receiver.

  12. Buffalo Bills: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

After taking Mike Williams at 10, the Bills get the guy who threw to him at Clemson. Deshaun Watson can learn under Tyrod Taylor for a year and then become the future starter.

Previous Pick: Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson

  13. Arizona Cardinals: Nate Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh

The Cardinals grab a quarterback to grrom behind Carson Palmer. At this point the top signal caller is Nate Peterman out of Pittsburgh.

Previous Pick: Teez Tabor, CB, Florida

  14. Indianapolis Colts: Garrett Bolles, RT, Utah

The Indianapolis Colts get their right tackle to compliment Anthony Costanzo. Garrett Bolles is a good pick to boost the Colts offensive line here.

Previous Pick: Haason Reddick, 3-4 ROLB, Temple

  15. Baltimore Ravens: Takkarist McKinley, 3-4 LOLB, UCLA

Baltimore gets a second pass rusher here. Takkarist McKinley is the best pass rusher on the board in the second round.

Previous Pick: Tim Williams, 3-4 ROLB, Alabama

  16. Minnesota Vikings: Dan Feeney, RG, Indiana

The Vikings replace Brandon Fusco here. Dan Feeney is the top guard available.

  17. Washington Redskins: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee

Washington gets a running back here. Alvin Kamara is a top 40 talent.

  18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M

Tampa Bay drafts another safety here. Justin Evans can compete for a starting job, and if he doesn't start right away he will play strong safety for depth.

  19. Denver Broncos: Julie'n Davenport, RT, Bucknell

Denver double dips at offensive tackle. Davenport makes a ton of sense here.

  20. Cleveland Browns: Budda Baker, SS, Washington

The Browns take Budda Baker here. I had the Browns taking Baker at 33 last week and he's still on the board at 52 after trading 12, 33, and 108 to move up to 2 for Trubisky.

Previous Pick: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida

  21. Detroit Lions: Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State

Detroit drafts a defensive tackle. The Lions take the local Malik McDowell.

Previous Pick: Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida

  22. Miami Dolphins: Chris Wormley, DT, Michigan

The Dolphins get a defensive tackle. They spoke with Chris Wormley and I feel he's an upgrade over Jordan Phillips.

  23. New York Giants: Zach Cunningham, MLB, Vanderbilt

The Giants draft Zach Cunningham here. Keenan Robinson only got a 1-year extension and it was for under $1-million dollars so drafting Cunningham to replace Robinson in a year from now is a realistic possibility.

Previous Pick: Jarrad Davis, 3-4 MLB, Florida

  24. Oakland Raiders: Tanoh Kpassagnon, LE, Villanova

Oakland goes after Tanoh Kpassagnon here. Tanoh can start next to Mack to form a deadly defensive end tandem.

Previous Pick: Zach Cunningham, MLB, Vanderbilt

  25. Arizona Cardinals: Raekwon McMillan, 3-4 MLB, Ohio State

The Cardinals get a middle linebacker here. Raekwon McMillan would be a great fit here.

Previous Pick: Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA

  26. Seattle Seahawks: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina

Seattle gets a wide receiver to compliment Doug Baldwin. Zay Jones is a great fit here plus Tyler Lockett can move back to the slot.

Previous Pick: Antonio Garcia, LT, Troy

  27. Kansas City Chiefs: Curtis Samel, WR, Ohio State

The Chiefs draft Curtis Samuel here. He gives the Chiefs a starting wide receiver for the future.

Previous Pick: Raekwon McMillan, 3-4 MLB, Ohio State

  28. Dallas Cowboys: Tyus Bowser, ROLB, Houston

Dallas gets someone that can blitz the quarterback. Bowser can play defensive end or outside linebacker.

Previous Pick: Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

  29. Green Bay Packers: Dion Dawkins, LG, Temple

Green Bay takes Dion Dawkins as a left guard here. They signed Jahri Evans as a right guard today and now they don't need multiple guards.

Previous Pick: Takkarist McKinley, 3-4 LOLB, UCLA

  30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan

The Steelers get a tight end here. Ben wants a tight end here and Jake Butt is a great fit for the Steelers at 62.

Previous Pick: Nate Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh

  31. Atlanta Falcons: Isaac Asiata, RG, Utah

The Falcons get a right guard here. Isaac Asiata has experience with all 5 positions on the offensive line.

Previous Pick: Tanoh Kpassagnon, LE, Villanova

  32. Carolina Panthers: Taylor Moton, RG, Western Michigan

Carolina goes after an offensive lineman that can play both right guard and right tackle. Carolina has Matt Kalil and Michael Oher as their current starting offensive tackles so Moton probably starts out at right guard and moves to a tackle spot if Kalil or Oher gets injured.
