2025 NBA Mock Draft: Final Mock 2 Rounds
Round 1 Picks 16-30
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: June 25, 2025.
Memphis Grizzlies: Jase Richardson, SG, Michigan State
- Orlando previously owned this pick. Orlando traded four first round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies including this selection for shooting guard Desmond Bane.
- Memphis has Ja Morant their 2019 first round pick drafted second overall at point guard, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at shooting guard, Jaylen Wells their 2024 second round pick is the starting small forward, Jaren Jackson Jr. their 2018 first round pick drafted fourth overall at power forward in a contract year, and Zach Edey their 2024 first round pick at center. Scotty Pippen Jr. is the backup guard at both guard spots, Santi Aldama is the backup small forward, GG Jackson the Memphis Grizzlies 2023 second round pick is the backup power forward.
- I gave Memphis the best player on the board. Jase Richardson makes a lot of sense for the Memphis Grizzlies at 16.
- Jase Richardson is a combo guard that can play both the 1 at point guard and the 2 at shooting guard. He's mainly a shooting guard as well as the oldest son of former NBA player Jason Richardson with Jase Richardson's younger brother Jax Richardson being a first round prospect in the 2027 NBA Draft.
- The 6-0 178 lb Jase Richardson had 12.1 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, a 49.3% field goal percentage, a 41.2% three point percentage, and a 83.6% free throw percentage as a freshman at Michigan State in 2024-2025. Jase Richardson wasn't even on NBA Draft radars until the start of March Madness when he was a second round pick. He did well enough to warrant lottery consideration by taking Michigan State to the Elite 8 in the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
- Jase Richardson can shoot short range, medium range, and long range shots. He does a good job passing getting teammates involved at Michigan State.
Previous Pick: Karter Knox, SF, Arkansas
Minnesota Timberwolves: Egor Demin, PG, BYU
- The Detroit Pistons 2025 first round pick was protected assuming they were in the lottery. With the Detroit Pistons breaking their playoff drought, this pick transfers over to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
- Minnesota has Mike Conley Jr. at point guard, Anthony Edwards their first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft at shooting guard, Jaden McDaniels their second 2020 first round pick at small forward, Julius Randle at power forward who does have a player option if he wants to test the market, and Rudy Gobert at center. Everyone in this starting five except Mike Conley Jr. averaged 10 points a game. Minnesota drafted two guards in the first round for depth last year with Rob Dillingham at point guard and Terrance Shannon Jr. at shooting guard.
- Drafting a point guard to push both Mike Conley Jr. and Rob Dillingham who Minnesota drafted in the top 10 last year feels necessary. Minnesota could also draft a power forward to replace Julius Randle here as the Karl-Anthony Towns trade did not help either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the New York Knicks with both teams losing in the Conference Finals.
- The 6-8 199 lb Egor Demin had 16 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game on Real Madrid in 2023-2024. Egor Demin had 10.6 points per game, 5.5 assists per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, a 41.2% field goal percentage, a 27.3% three point percentage, and a 69.5% free throw percentage as a fresman at BYU in 2024-2025.
- Egor Demin was a preseason top 10 pick, but he fell to the back half of the first round in this mock draft. He did get a green room invite to the 2025 NBA Draft.
- Egor Demin can shoot from short range, medium range, and long range. He has the passing, ability to defend the 1 at point guard or the ability to defend the 2 at shooting guard. Egor Demin gives Minnesota an ideal combo guard that can contribute off the bench until he's ready to start. The only weakness in Egor Demin's game was his long-range and three point shooting which was a weakness at Real Madrid, but Egor Demin began to show flashes of fixing that after his freshman season at BYU.
Previous Pick: Hugo Gonzalez, SG, Real Madrid
Washington Wizards: Eric Dixon, PF, Villanova
- Washington now owns the Memphis Grizzlies first round pick thanks to Memphis acquiring Johnny Davis for depth, Marvin Bagley III for depth, and a 205 second round pick. Washington gets another power forward for depth here.
- Washington now owns the Memphis Grizzlies first round pick. Alexander Sarr probably moves to center next year with Jonas Valenciunas gone. Drafting a power forward who can play center as a secondary position makes a lot of sense at 18. My top power forward left on the board is Eric Dixon because he's the only power forward left in this draft that can hit three point shots consistently. Washington needs a day 1 starter at power forward if Alexander Sarr remains at center.
- The 6-7 258 lb Eric Dixon had 23.3 points per game which was best in the country, 5.1 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, a 45.1% field goal percentage, a 40.7% three point percentage, anda 81.3% free throw percentage as senior in 2024-2025. Eric Dixon is my first senior off the board.
- Eric Dixon has the short range, medium range, and long range you want in a shooter. Some have Eric Dixon going in the second round, but his three point shooting is better than a majority of the power forwards mocked in the late first round despite the fact that he is 24-years-old.
Previous Pick: JT Toppin, PF, Texas Tech
Brooklyn Nets: Nolan Traore, PG, Saint-Quentin
- Brooklyn acquired this pick from the Milwaukee Bucks in the trade that sent Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks. This is the second first round pick that the Brooklyn Nets have now.
- Brooklyn grabs the best player on the board hoping for a second day 1 starter. Nolan Traore was once seen as a top 5 pick and is a massive bargain at pick 19.
- The 6-3 170 lb Nolan Traore has the short range, medium range, long range, and passing you want form a true 1 at point guard. He's got superb athleticism, body control, and stop/start ability. He had 25 points and 7 assists in 29 minutes in an overtime loss. He plays like a veteran overseas in France despite his age. He's great at defending other players that play the 1 at point guard. Nolan Traore had 12.2 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, a 41% field goal percentage, a 29.2% three point percentage, and a 71.6% free throw percentage on Saint-Quentin in 2024-2025.
- Nolan Traore is the younger brother of Lakers rookie Armel Traore. He had 7 20 point games and is considered the second best International player in the 2025 NBA Draft behind Noa Essengue. Personally, I like Nolan Traore more as his three point shot is more consistent.
Previous Pick: Ian Jackson, SF, North Carolina
Miami Heat: Nique Clifford, SG, Colorado State
- The Golden State Warriors gave the Miami Heat this 2025 first round draft pick in exchange for Jimmy Butler. Miami may have lost their original pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but Miami still has a first round pick that was originally owned by the Golden State Warriors.
- The Miami Heat have Terry Rozier at point guard, Tyler Herro at shooting guard, Duncan Robinson at small forward, Andrew Wiggins at power forward, and Bam Adeboyo at center in their starting five. Miami has Dayvion Mitchell as their backup point guard, Nikola Jovic their 2023 first round pick as their backup small forward, Kyle Anderson as their backup power forward, and Kel'el Ware their 2024 first round pick as their backup center. This leaves shooting guard as the default position to draft at 20 with the first round pick that the Miami Heat got from the Golden State Warriors.
- The 6-5 202 lb Nique Clifford had 12.2 points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game, 1.4 steals pergame, a 52.2% field goal percentage, a 37.6% three point percentage, and a 75.9% free throw percentage as a junior at Colorado State in 2023-2024. Nique Clifford had 18.9 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game, 4.4 assists per game, 1.2 steals per game, a 49.6% field goal percentage, a 37.7% three point percentage, and a 77.7% free throw percentage as a senior on Colorado State in 2024-2025.
- Nique Clifford has the shooting to make short range, medium range, or long range shots. He's great at passing the basketball. Nique Clifford can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forwar, and the 4 at power forward. Nique Clifford's play on Colorado State was a big reason why he won Mountain West Player Of The Year and why I foolishly picked Colorado State to make the Final 4 this year.
Previous Pick: Tre Johnson, SG, Texas
Utah Jazz: Ryan Kalkbrenner, C, Creighton
- This is the second of the four first round picks that the Utah Jazz acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the trade that sent Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Utah took Auburn center Walker Kessler in the 2023 NBA Draft with the first of those four first round picks with this being the second of those four first round picks. Utah also owns Minnesota's first round pick in 2027 and 2029.
- Utah gets a center for depth. Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner was the first player to be a four time Big East Defensive Player Of The Year since Patrick Ewing who went first overall to the New York Knicks in the 1985 NBA Draft.
- The 7-1 257 lb Ryan Kalkbrenner had 19.2 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, 2.7 blocks per game, 1.5 assists per game, a 65.3% field goal percentage, a 34.4% three point percentage, and a 68.1% free throw percentage as a senior at Creighton in 2024-2025. Ryan Kalkbrenner went 17/23 on three point attempts at the 2025 NBA Combine as Ryan Kalkbrenner was the catalyst on the Creighton Men's Basketball team that made the 2023 Men's Final Four.
- Ryan Kalkbrenner has the shooting to make short range, medium range, and long range shots. Ryan Kalkbrenner can defend against the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, the 4 at power forward, and the 5 at center.
Previous Pick: Carter Bryant, SF, Arizona
Brooklyn Nets: Walter Clayton Jr., PG, Florida
- The Los Angeles Lakers originally sent this pick to the New Orleans Pelicans in the Anthony Davis trade. New Orleans sent this pick to Atlanta for Dejounte Murray. Atlanta sent this pick to Brooklyn in a three team trade between the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, and Atlanta Hawks where Atlanta got Kristaps Porzingis, Boston got Georges Niang the third string center on the Atlanta Hawks, and Brooklyn takes on Terrance Mann's 3-year $47-million dollar contract with Brooklyn getting a first round pick for keeping that backup under contract.
- The Brooklyn Nets double up at point guard. I originally had this player going to the Atlanta Hawks.
- The 6-2 199 lb Walter Clayton Jr. was the catalyst on Florida's National Title Team. Walter Clayton Jr. had 18.3 points per game, 4.2 assists per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, 1.2 steals per game, a 44.8% field goal percentage, a 38.6% three point percentage, and a 87.5% free throw percentage in 2024-2025.
- Walter Clayton Jr. can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range. He can defend the 1 at point guard. You'd like to see his quickness improve when defending, but he's probably the last point guard on the board in this draft that can defend and hit three pointers effectively.
Previous Pick: Flory Bidunga, C, Kansas
New Orleans Pelicans: Maxime Raynaud, C, Stanford
- Indiana traded this pick to the New Orleans Pelicans in a pick swap deal. Indiana reacquired their 2026 first round pick which New Orleans owned. New Orleans got this pick and the cdraft rights to Mojave King drafted forty seventh overall in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft.
- New Orleans gets a center for depth behind Yves Missi. Maxime Raynaud is a great addition here.
- The 7-0 236 lb Maxime Raynaud had 20.2 points per game, 10.6 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game, 1.4 blocks per game, a 46.7% field goal percentage, a 34.7% three point percentage, and a 77% free throw percentage as a senior at Stanford in 2024-2025. Maxime Raynaud had 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 5 on 5 game at the 2025 NBA Combine.
- Maxime Raynaud can hit shots from short range, medium range, and long range. Maxime Raynaud can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, the 4 at power forward, and the 5 at center.
Previous Pick: Kwame Evans Jr., PF, Oregon
Oklahoma City Thunder: Thomas Sorber, C, Georgetown
- Oklahoma got this pick in the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander trade with the Los Angeles Clippers that sent Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Galinarri 3 first round picks in 2022, 2024, and 2026 with pick swap options in 2023 and 2025. The Oklahoma City Thunder got Shai Gilgeous-Alexander their future starting point guard and this years NBA Finals MVP, Jalen Williams the starting small forward with the 2022 first round pick Oklahoma City received from the Los Angeles Clippers. Oklahoma City also acquired Dillon Jones in last years trade. Oklahoma City declined a pick swap option in the 2023 NBA Draft, but Oklahoma City Thunder President Sam Presti opted to swap picks in the first round with the Los Angeles Clippers this year, meaning that the Los Angeles Clippers pick at 30 while Oklahoma City picks here at 24. Oklahoma City has the Los Angeles Clippers first round pick in 2026 too on top of that, which will be the final piece of the massive return Presti got in the Paul George trade.
- Oklahoma City gets a center for depth. Georgtown center Thomas Sorber is the top center on the board.
- The 6-9 262 lb Thomas Sorber had 14.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, a 53.2% field goal percentage, a 16.2% three point percentage, and a 72.4% free throw percentage as a freshman in 2024-2025. Thomas Sorber struggled in one on ones against Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner. He also lacks the athleticism to play the 4 at power forward in the NBA, so he will have to play the 5 at center despite being undersized.
- Thomas Sorber can shoot shots from short range and medium range. He's a great passer for a center. He struggles defensively and also struggles hitting three point shots.
Previous Pick: Airious Bailey, SG, Rutgers
Orlando Magic: Collin Murray-Boyles, PF, South Carolina
- The Orlando Magic go this pick from the Denver Nuggets in the trade back in 2021 which sent Gary Clark and Aaron Gordon ot the Denver Nuggets for R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris, and the twenty fifth pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Orlando gave the Memphis Grizzlies four first round picks for shooting guard Desmond Bane, but managed to keep this selection.
- Orlando has Jalen Suggs their 2021 first round pick at point guard, Desmond Bane at shooting guard, Franz Wagner their second 2021 first round pick at small forward, Paolo Banchero the first pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2022 NBA Draft at power forward, and Wendell Carter at center. Orlando has this good starting five for two more years unless Kentavious Caldwell-Pope opts out of his contract by exercising his player option. Orlando also has Cole Anthony a 2020 first round pick as the backup point guard, Anthony Black a 2023 first round pick as the backup shooting guard, Jett Howard antother 2023 first round pick as a backup shooting guard/small forward, Tristan Da Silva Orlando's 2024 first round pick as the backup small forward, Jonathan Isaac Orlando's 2017 first round pick as the backup power forward, and Moritz Wagner as the backup center. Goga Bitadze the third string center has two years left on his contract while Wagner only has 1. This gives the Orlando Magic the flexibility to draft for value over need at 25.
- Orlando goes with the best player on their board for depth. Collin Murray-Boyles could go as high as the top 10, but he's not a good three point shooter. That was his weakness heading into the fall and is still his weakness now. He would start out as a third string power forward behind Paolo Banchero and Jonathan Isaac, but he could be Banchero's backup if Isaac gets traded.
- The 6-6 239 lb Collin Murray-Boyles had 10.4 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, a 59.7 field goal percentage, a 66.7% free throw percentage, and a 0% three point percentage as a freshman in 2023-2024. Collin Murray-Boyles had 16.8 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, 1.3 blocks per game, a 58.6% field goal percentage, a 26.5% three point percentage, and a 70.7% free throw percentage as a sophomore in 2024-2025.
- Collin Murray-Boyles is a decent short range and medium range shooter. His inability to hit long-range shots makes him a bench player when he gets to the NBA. He's talented enough to go in the late first round, but the top 10 hype he's gotten is unwarranted.
Previous Pick: Zvonimir Isivic, C, Arkansas
Brooklyn Nets: RJ Luis Jr., SF, St. John's
- Brooklyn also got this pick in addition to the Milwaukee Bucks 2025 first round pick in the Mikal Bridges trade. I shouldn't have to mention this again.
- Brooklyn gets their small forward of the future with this 2025 first round pick they acquired from the New York Knicks.
- The 6-5 210 lb RJ Luis Jr. had 18.2 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game, 2 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game, a 43.9% field goal percentage, a 33.6% three point percentage, and a 74.7% free throw percentage as a senior on St. John's in 2024-2025. RJ Luis Jr. averaged 15 points in both games at the 2025 NBA Combine while also showcasing the versatility to play both the 2 at shooting guard and the 3 at small forward.
- RJ Luis Jr. can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range. It took him 7 minutes in a two hour film session to make a medium range shot from mid range and it also took him 13 minutes to make a three point shot when watching his tape, so you will have to be patient with him even though the traits of a late first round pick are there. He can generate assists. RJ Luis Jr. can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. RJ Luis Jr. won 2025 Big East Player Of The Year.
Previous Pick: Kam Jones, PG, Marquette
Brooklyn Nets: Johni Broome, PF, Auburn
- The Brooklyn Nets owned the Phoenix Suns 2025 first round pick, but the Houston Rockets had a pick swap option with the Brooklyn Nets for this pick thanks to the James Harden trade which sent James Harden to Brooklyn. What's even more ironic is Houston traded the pick they got from Brooklyn in the James Harden trade back to the Phoenix Suns to get Kevin Durant, who the Brooklyn Nets traded away to Phoenix two years ago. Now Kevin Durant is a Houston Rocket, but the Houston Rockets do not have any picks in the 2025 NBA Draft as of right now.
- Brooklyn gets a power forward for depth. Johni Broome is the top power forward on the board in the late first round, but he could drop all the way down to 50. I am mocking him to Brooklyn here despite what he's shown.
- The 6-9 249 lb Johni Broome had 18.6 points per game, 10.8 rebounds per game, 2.9 assists per game, a 51% field goal percentage, a 27.8% three point percentage, and a 58.7% free throw percentage as a senior on Auburn in 2024-2025. Johni Broome played both the 4 at power forward and the 5 at center at Auburn.
- Johni Broome can shoot from short range or medium range. Johni Broome can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, the 4 at power forward, and the 5 at center.
- Johni Broome had a 24.5 inch vertical at the 2025 NBA Combine. Desmond Watson the 450 lb defensive tackle on Florida's football team had a 25 inch vertical at Florida's Pro Day leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft.
Previous Pick: Chaz Lanier, SG, Tennessee
Boston Celtics: Carter Bryant, SF, Arizona
- The Boston Celtics have Derrick White moving from shooting guard back to his original position where he played in college with the Colorado Buffaloes at point guard, Anfernee Simmons is the new shooting guard replacing former point guard Jrue Holliday, Jaylen Brown their 2016 first round pick drafted third overall is at small forward, and Jayson Tatum their 2017 first round pick drafted third overall is at power forward, but may miss next year after tearing his achilles in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Boston needs a center, but the Celtics might go a different route if all of the centers with first round grades on Brad Stevens draft board are all off the board when Boston picks at 28. Boston could also get a power forward for depth behind Tatum that gains some experience until Tatum comes back. The third option is ignore need and take the best player on your board at 28.
- The 6-6 214 lb Carter Bryant had 6.5 points per gmae, 4.1 rebounds per game, 1 assist per game, 1 steal per game, a 46% field goal percentage, a 37.1% three point percentage,a nd a 69.5% free throw percentage as a freshman in 2024-2025. Carter Bryant's 36.5 inch vertical at the 2025 NBA Combine was the second best among players at the 2025 NBA Combine.
- Carter Bryant can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range despite playing mostly off the bench as a freshman. Carter Bryant can defend against the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward.
Previous Pick: Donnie Freeman, PF, Syracuse
Phoenix Suns: Bogolijub Markovic, PF, KK Mega Bemax
- The Utah Jazz owned this pick in the Donovan Mitchell trade as Utah acquired Ochai Agbaji, Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, and three first round picks in 2025, 2027, as well as 2029. Utah also has pick swap options with Cleveland in 2026 and 2028 if the Utah Jazz have a better record than the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next two even numbered draft years. The Phoenix Suns gave the Utah Jazz their 2031 first round pick to get this pick. Unless the Phoenix Suns make the 2031 NBA Finals ten years after their last NBA Finals appearance in 2021 where the Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, then Utah will end up picking higher than Phoenix in 2031. The Phoenix Suns now own pick 29.
- The 6-10 255 lb Bogolijub Markovic had 13.7 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, a 61.2% field goal percentage, a 37% three point percentage, and a 76% free throw percentage, and a 39.5% three point percentage in 2024-2025. I wasn't expecting much when I first began watching his tape, but came away extremely impressed with his tape.
- Bogolijub Markovic can shoot shots from short range, medium range, and long range. He is an excellent passer and can execute any type of pass. He's great at high pointing rebounds, but his ability to neutralize defenders in one-on-ones does need improvement. You can make a case for Bogolijub Markovic in the top 20 if he fixes his ability to defend others in one-on-ones which is why he makes a lot of sense for a team like the Phoenix Suns at 29.
Previous Pick: Kon Knueppel, SG, Duke
Los Angeles Clippers: Kam Jones, PG, Marquette
- The Los Angeles Clippers lost this pick thanks trading away Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Dillon Jones, and Sam Presti opting to swap 2025 first round picks with the Oklahoma City Thunder. As a result, the Los Angeles Clippers have the final first round pick thanks to the Oklahoma City Thunder having the best regular season record in 2024-2025.
- The Los Angeles Clippers have James Harden at point guard, Norman Powell at shooting guard, Derrick Jones Jr. at small forward, Kawhi Leonard at power forward, and Ivica Zubac at center. James Harden and Kawhi Leonard are playing out of position, but this starting five was effective when everyone was healthy.
- I want to give the Los Angeles Clippers a true point guard so that James Harden can move back to shooting guard. I considered Duke point guard Tyrese Proctor and Marquette point guard Kam Jones. The Marquette senior impressed me more than the Duke junior and I'm a huge Duke Blue Devils fan. This wasn't an easy decision, but Kam Jones is the better fit for the Los Angeles Clippers with the final pick in the first round.
- The 6-3 202 lb Kam Jones played point guard at Marquette, but he's got the size to play shooting guard too. He's listed as a combo guard in some NBA Mock Drafts. Kam Jones had 19.2 points per game, 5.9 assists per gmae, 4.5 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game, a 48.3% field goal percentage, a 31.1% three point percentage, and a 64.8% free throw percentage as a senior on Marquette in 2024-2025.
- Kam Jones can shoot shots from short range, medium range, and long range. He can generate assists. Kam Jones can defend the 1 at point guard and the 2 at shooting guard.
Previous Pick: KJ Lewis, SG, Arizona
Other 2025 NBA Mock Drafts
