San Antonio Spurs 2017 Season Preview

Kawhi Leonard has stepped up the last two years. One can argue he's the Spurs leader now.

San Antonio has their best starting five yet with Tony Parker at point guard, Danny Green at shooting guard, Kawhi Leonard returning at small forward, LeMarcus Aldrige starting at power forward, and Tim Duncan moving from power forward to center. San Antonio also has Manu Ginobli as a sixth man at shooting guard.

Parker averaged 14.4 points per game in 2014-2015. Danny Green averaged 11.7 points per game. Ginobli had 10.5 points per game when splitting time with Green at the 2 when playing shooting guard.

Leonard posted 16.5 points per game in his contract year. Now that Leonard has a new deal he may revert to posting 12-14 points per game.

Aldrige played the 4 in Portland where he dominated with 23.4 points per game on the Portland Trail Blazers. You add Aldridge next to Tim Duncan who is finally moving to center. Duncan played power forward next to David Robinson early in his career. Now Duncan is getting older and is moving to center to mentor Aldrige to be his successor in San Antonio. Duncan averaged 13.9 points per game in 2014-2015. These weren't Duncan's best numbers, but I still think Duncan will score 10-12 points per game.

If San Antonio stays healthy, this is the undisputed favorite to win it all. If one single injury occurs, then this team will implode.
