Austin Voth May Make Washington Nationals Starting Rotation In 2017

Austin Voth went 7-9 with a 3.15 ERA in 2016. He pitched in 27 games and had 25 starts in AAA with 11 no decisions.


Voth could seriously challenge Gio Gonzalez for the #3 spot. Gonzalez has a 4.57 ERA in 2016 and has regressed significantly this season.


Max Scherzer and Stephen Strausburg should keep the top two spots in the Nationals rotation. I expect Voth to have a #3, #4, or #5 spot though at some point in 2017.
