Atlanta has four starters returning. Small forward DeMarre Carroll is gone. Point guard Jeff Teague, shooting guard Kyle Korver, power forward Paul Millsap, and center Al Horford are all returning. All five of these players averaged more than 10 points per game which was the biggest reason why the Hawks got the 1 seed in the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
Thabo Safolosha and Tim Hardaway Jr. are battling for the starting small forward job. Both players are downgrades over Carroll. Atlanta will still win this division, but the Hawks will fall back to reality when they suffer an early round playoff exit in 2016.
