2021 NBA Mock Draft: Final Mock 2 Rounds

Round 2

Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: July 29, 2021.

  1. Milwaukee Bucks: Trey Murphy III, SF, Virginia

Milwauke will have four of their starting five from game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals back including point guard Jrue Holliday, shooting guard Khris Middleton, power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and center Brook Lopez. Small forward P.J. Tucker is the only unrestricted Free Agent.

  2. New York Knicks: Miles McBride, PG, West Virginia

New York gets a point guard for depth with the Pistons second round pick. Miles McBride is someone generating late first round buzz. He impressed me on film this year and would make an ideal backup for Derrick Rose.

  3. Orlando Magic: Nah'Shon Hyland, SG, Virginia Commonwealth

Orlando gets a guard for depth. Nah'Shon Hyland is someone who has a consensus first round grade.

  4. Oklahoma City Thunder: Neemias Queta, C, Utah State

Oklahoma City grabs a player who may be their starting center. Neemias Queta really impressed me on tape, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was an early second round pick.

  5. New Orleans Pelicans: Quentin Grimes, SG, Houston

I gave New Orleans Jared Butler the Baylor point guard at 17. New Orleans grabs Quentin Grimes who some have a late first round grade on here in the second round with this pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

  6. Oklahoma City Thunder: Filip Petrusev, PF, Mega Bemax

Oklahoma City uses this second round pick to address the final position of the starting lineup at power forward. Filip Petrusev is the top International prospect in the second round.

  7. Charlotte Hornets: Joe Wieskamp, SF, Iowa

Charlotte gets a small forward here. Joe Wieskamp is the best player on the board.

  8. Chicago Bulls: Joshua Primo, SG, Alabama

Chicago has Coby White at point guard, Zach LaVine at small forward, Patrick Williams at small forward, Lauri Markkanen at power forard, and Nikola Vucevic at center. The Bulls can use this second round pick to ignore need and take the best player on the board. Alabama shooting guard Joshua Primo is my best player on the board.

  9. Sacramento Kings: Kessler Edwards, SF, Pepperdine

Sacramento gets a small forward to groom behind Harrison Barnes. Kessler Edwards is the best small forward left on the board at this point.

  10. Memphis Grizzlies: B.J. Boston, SG, Kentucky

Memphis grabs the best player on the board for depth at 40. B.J. Boston was once a top 5 pick. His bad season causes him to drop to the Memphis Grizzlies at 40, who grab Boston as a shooting guard for depth.

  11. San Antonio Spurs: Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, PF, Villanova

San Antonio gets a big in the second round. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is the top ranked power forward on the board at this point in the second round.

  12. Detroit Pistons: Luke Garza, C, Iowa

Isaiah Stewart is only 6-9 despite being the Detroit Pistons starting center. Detroit grabs another big for depth with the 6-11 243 lb Luke Garza here.

  13. New Orleans Pelicans: Herbert Jones, SF, Alabama

New Orleans grabs the best player on the board here. Herbert Jones is a good value pick at this point in the second round.

  14. Brooklyn Nets: Rokas Jokubaitis, PG, Zalgiris

Brooklyn grabs the best player on the board at 44. They get Rokas Jokubaitis an International point guard as a backup to Krie Irving.

  15. Boston Celtics: Daishen Nix, PG, Ignite (NBA G-League)

Boston gets an NBA G-League player here. They draft this guy hoping they get a replacement to Kemba Walker.

  16. Toronto Raptors: Josh Christopher, SG, Arizona State

Josh Christopher is a steal at this point in the second round. I also heard Christopher is one of the second round picks that Toronto worked out.

  17. Toronto Raptors: Aaron Henry, SF, Michigan State

Toronto grabs the best player on the board here. Aaron Henry may be a decent value pick at this point for Toronto.

  18. Atlanta Hawks: Ron Harper, Jr., SF, Rutgers

Atlanta brings in someone to push De'Andre Hunter harder. I noticed that Hunter wasn't starting during the Eastern Conference Finals.

  19. Brooklyn Nets: Juhaan Begarin, SG, Paris Basketball

Brooklyn goes for value in the second round. Juhaan Begarin gives the Nets a quality backup behind James Harden.

  20. Philadelphia 76ers: Aaron Wiggins, SG, Maryland

Philadelphia takes the best player on the board here. Aaron Wiggins is a steal for the Philadelphia 76ers as he is projected to go a lot earlier in most two round mock drafts.

  21. New Orleans Pelicans: Greg Brown, PF, Texas

New Orleans gets a backup to Zion Williamson here. Greg Brown is a good value pick at this point.

  22. Detroit Pistons: Austin Reaves, SG, Oklahoma

The Pistons grab a true shooting guard for depth behind Killian Hayes. Austin Reaves is a good value pick at 52.

  23. Philadelphia 76ers: Vrenz Bleijenbergh, SF, Antwerp

Philadelphia goes with a small forward for depth at 53. Vrenz Bleijenbergh is one of the top small forwards left in this draft.

  24. Indiana Pacers: McKinley Wright IV, PG, Colorado

Indiana grabs the best player on the board. McKinley Wright IV is a bargain at this point in the second round.

  25. Oklahoma City Thunder: Isaiah Livers, SF, Michigan

Oklahoma City grabs the best player on the board here. Isaiah Livers played forward at Michigan with Franz Wagner.

  26. Charlotte Hornets: Joel Ayai, PG, Gonzaga

Charlotte gets another guard for depth. Joel Ayai is a player I almost completely forgot about as he gives the Hornets a combo guard for depth.

  27. Detroit Pistons: Jay Huff, PF, Virginia

Jay Huff is versatile enough to play power forward or center with his versatility. He gives Detroit a big for depth.

  28. New York Knicks: Charles Bassey, C, Western Kentucky

New York gets a center late in the second round. Charles Bassey would provide a depth player that may be able to become the New York Knicks starting center.

  29. Brooklyn Nets: Matthew Hurt, PF, Duke

Brooklyn doubles up at power forward in this draft. Matthw Hurt is the best player on the board.

  30. Indiana Pacers: RaiQuan Gray, PF, Florida State

The Indiana Pacers get a power forward for depth. RaiQuan Gray is an awesome value pick here.
