There was pregame tension between Sidney Crosby and P.K. Subban. Crosby and Subban had an exchange where Crosby was accused of mentioning how Subban's teeth smelled. Both Crosby and Subban stepped up in big ways tonight.

Nashville scored first in the first period. Sidney Crosby tied the game at 1. That made it 1-1 after one period. Both teams did well defensively limiting shots on goal in the first period.

Nashville took control in the second period. Frederik Gauthier made it a 2-1 game. Viktor Arvidsson made it a 3-1 game. Nashville outshot Pittsburgh 10-7 in the third period and Filip Forsberg scored to make it 4-1. Nashville outshot Pittsburgh 26-24 and Subban was phenomenal on defense tonight.

Pittsburgh outscored Nashville 9-4 in the first two games at PPG Paints Arena. Nashville outscored Pittsburgh 9-2 on their home ice. Home ice has mattered in this series and whoever can steal one on the road will be in a great position to win the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals. Game 5 is on Thursday at PPG Paints Arena where Pittsburgh is 2-0 in the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals.
