Khris Middleton Hits Buzzer Beater To Beat Miami Heat In Overtime
One year ago Miami eliminated Milwaukee in five games after the top seed Milwaukee Bucks blew a chance to win the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals before losing to my favorite NBA team the Toronto Raptors. I was happy the Raptors won the NBA Finals that year, but let's get back to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Early in this contest, Milwaukee was playing sloppy missing shots while Miami hit three pointers. Milwaukee adjusted outscoring Miami 31-26 in the second quarter after trailing Miami 24-22 after one quarter.
Milwaukee led by 3 at halftime leading Miami 53-50. Miami outscored Milwaukee in the second half in a close game throughout the contest.
Milwaukee won this game thanks to small forward Khris Middleton hitting the game-winning shot as time expired. Middleton not only got the game-winning shot to give the Bucks a 109-107 win, he also led Milwaukee with 27 points while also having a team best 6 assists and, posted an additional 6 rebounds. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points playing power forward and also led the Bucks with 18 rebounds. Jrue Holliday was amazing at point guard too with 20 points, 3 assists, and 11 rebounds doing a nice job defending the glass.
Milwaukee made a statement early in front of their home crowd after losing to the Miami Heat in the Playoff Bubble during Covid-19 last year. What's even more amazing is that the Bucks prevailed despite going 5/31 shooting three point shots. Game 2 of this series will be Monday Night in Milwaukee.
