Dallas trailed 1-0 before tying the game in the first period. Arizona took a 2-1 lead before John Klingberg scored a power play goal to even the game at 2-2.
That was just the foreshadowing and build up that led to a third period where Dallas just completely dominated. Sure the Klingberg goal gave Dallas some momentum, but it was Jamie Benn who ignited this Stars' crowd when he scored a go-ahead-goal in the third period to give Dallas a 3-2 lead.
Lauri Korpikoski made it a 4-2 game when he scored in the third period to put Dallas ahead by two gaols. Radek Faksa had his 20th assist of the season when passing it to Korpikoski.
Benn had another big play when he posted his 35th assist on the year when him and Brett Ritchie passed the puck to Cody Eakin. Eakin got his third goal of the season against the Coyotes, but he's underperformed as a goal scorer all season. Hopefully that goal can give him some momentum moving forward.
This was a huge win for the Dallas Stars team that needed to win this game to remain alive in the Western Conference becoming the fifth NHL team to win off a bye week this season. On Sunday, the Dallas Stars will host the Boston Bruins on NBC at 12:30 PM EST where Dallas hopes to continue winning since their bye week.
